This is a surprisingly comfortable place to hang out — the crowd tends to be middle aged blue collar, they all seem to know each other and the bartenders and everyone has lots of fun with lots of banter. They have always been friendly to me even though I don’t quite fit in and am definitely not a regular. It has been called a dive bar, but it is really better than that. It is well kept up, has plenty of tables, pool table, darts, — I would just say it isn’t anything fancy. I haven’t quite figured out the bikini bar aspect of it, it is a bit hit or miss, though the bartenders are all cuties so far. It seems to be a bit more revealing at happy hour then lunch. Was there for Sunday Football — This is apparently THE Buffalo Bills Bar in Albany — and the bartender was wearing a football shirt tied up — so no bikini at all. The food is quite good — at least the burgers. Good selection of beer with a Brooklyn, Sam Oktoberfest, and all the american lagers. Good beer specials. I have been told that Thursday happy hour is the time, with free pizza and 3 girls on duty.

Dive bar with cheap beer, halfway decent beer selection, and little cuties behind the bar. Tucked away in an industrial neighborhood off Broadway, I think it’s safe to say you won’t find another place quite like this in Albany. Came here from a nearby party for some late-night drinking and were pleasantly surprised, but I’d like to come back another time to give it another go. A little earlier and with a little less booze in us to begin. Didn’t try the food but I don’t know that I would. Ian’s review really hits the nail on the head; people aren’t coming for the food, more the cheap drinks and bartending hotties. A return visit might just bump up the stars by one now that I know what to expect. Check it out for yourself.

This bar is really something special. Located in the really old industrial section of Albany and away from the mainstream Albany bar scenes, the Thatcher Street Pub is a great place to grab a drink, especially after a hard day at work. The customers here are primarily 30 to 40 something men coming here for the cheap drinks and cheap pub food: appetizers, burgers, sandwiches & pizza(on Thursdays). Beer specials are offered including $ 2 Coors Light(Mondays 8PM-Close) and $ 2.50 Heinekens(Fridays 8PM-Close). I had a decent $ 4BLT with chips & pickle! Okay so the real main draw to this bar are the cute young bar maids who wear very skimpy bikinis and plenty of neat ink art. WOW! this place is very similar to Muddy’s in the Watervliet/Menands area, if you get my drift(wink). The Thatcher Street Pub can get very busy with plenty of regulars here including one of my single buddies who loves this place. This bar also offers a pool table, darts, jukebox, Quick Draw, and seats in the back to hang out. A pretty good Happy Hour for guys! Around 7PM or so, the bar maids will dress up and be fully clothed for the rest of the night. Oh darn! It’s back to reality gents, so hurry home and say, «Honey, I’m late because I had a long day at work…» Just act cool and play out the rest of the scenario.
