Everything I have ordered from here is excellent. I also really love how friendly the owner is. She she seems to remember everyone that comes in, and is very attentive. Some of the best Chinese food in Albuquerque in my opinion.

Since new ownership this place has taken a major dive! I have tried for nearly a year but the new owners just don’t know what fresh /vegetables means. Everything to do with dishes that has vegetables is out of a jar or a can! Order the Kung pao and its water chestnuts and corn(no fresh zucchini or red and green peppers) if your lucky you’ll get some celery. The crab Rangoons have about an eighth of a teaspoon of cream cheese and a flake of something orange. And my favorite — the garlic sauce has not one pice of garlic to its ingredients! Lastly –don’t say I didn’t warn you –those almond cookies have been sitting in that jar since time immemorial– they are yucky Goodbye China garden — how dare you keep taking my money for bad food.

Great American Chinese food, China Garden is hard to beat for certain dishes. The BBQ spare ribs are sweet and tender. General Tso dishes can be customized, sweeter and spicier with extra crispy chicken or shrimp. Garlic sauce is savory especially when ginger is added. There are usually seafood specials list on the board. Salt and pepper anything is good. Singapore Mai Fun can be ordered extra spicy with pork and seafood. Stay away from the egg foo young, cashew chicken, and the miniature corn in dishes. It’s worth the drive, if you know what to order.

LOVE China Garden! The food is consistently great. The owner always remembers us and what we order. The sesame chicken is the best I’ve had in ABQ. It’s a great little family owned restaurant where the prices and portions are a great deal.

For a hole in the wall place, it’s as good as local Chinese can get! Portions are generous and affordable. Vegetables are tender-crisp, never mushy, and the meat is lean and tasty. Their egg drop soup is my favorite in town. We typically do take out and they always offer extra sauce and chop sticks. Mostly I love it for the family who runs restaurant — they are so sweet!

What a find this place is! The family who run it are very polite and friendly. They remember me and always thank me for coming in. Everything is clean and fresh. I’ve tried many items on the menu and like them all, but prefer the spicier selections, like Kung Pao chicken. I don’t like fish, so I’ve never ordered any fish dishes. All the chicken is white meat. No gristle or cartilage – I hate it when restaurants throw in scrap meat! My only complaint is I think their egg rolls are tasteless. But their beef curry rolls are good, so I always order those. Best of all, their entrees are VERY affordable. Especially their lunch specials. I’ve left there, having spent less than $ 10.00 most of the time. Sometimes, close to $ 5.00!

This place is great for take-out. It’s close to home for me. I love spicy food(like actual, legit spicy) and they deliver on that fairly well if you ask for«extra spicy.»

Wonderful local, family run restaurant. A broad, well-executed menu and friendly, efficient service. All at a modest price. We especially enjoyed the fried wontons in garlic sauce and the General Tso’s chicken dishes. Fresh ingredients prepared well and served in an attractive manner. Great value.

This is our HANDSDOWN go-to place for Chinese take-out. My girls love the fried rice(even asking for and GETTING it without onions EVERYTIME) and I love the light option of the shrimp and veggies or tofu and veggies with oyster sauce on the side OR(better but more calories) the Mongolian beef. Great veggies with that one. This is a family run joint and the adorable kids who take and deliver your order perfectly are still pretty young and were probably 8 or 9 when I started coming here. Very affordable and very accurate and very nice. I am happy with the quality especially because I have been known to not make it to the parking lot at some Chinese restaurants due to the msg. I can’t say they do not use it at all because I did not ask recently, but after at least 4 years of getting delicious take out here I am a huge fan and trust them completely. Support this local place!

if you are willing to put aside ‘service’ as a criteria to evaluate this place, then it will fair quite well solely on the quality of its food. i like it that is non-chain, non-PF-CHang and close to the house here in NE albuquerque. i would not recommend eating in because when they get busy, as in this first night of trial wherein there were a ton of phone orders, most people dining in were forgotten. the way to do it: keep a menu at home, call-in, order everything extra spicy, then give them ample time to do their magic [30 minutes at least], then head to pick your order up. you will be glad.

A Mom & Pop place, with the kids doing the serving. We got the Family Dinner for 2. Soup(Wonton or Egg Drop), Egg roll, Sweet & Sour chicken w/rice and Pork Lo Mein. They changed out the wonton for hot and sour at no charge. Soup was okay, but not the best in Albuquerque. Large, tasty egg rolls, served piping hot. Choices of sauce are in packets on the table. Entrée servings were huge-each was enough for two people. Chicken was freshly-cooked and good. Sweet and Sour sauce was served on the side. Probably out of a jar. We only tasted the Lo Mein, since we brought it home for another meal. But it was very tasty. Only complaints: They brought the entrees while we were still eating the soup and egg rolls. Also, I ordered tea. It came out warm and cooled considerably during the meal. The young son & daughter tried very hard. They were busy with lots of carry-out orders. Next time will have to order al-la-carte.
