My friend and I were visiting A Bay and needed a place to grab dinner, and Unilocal led us here… I wish it hadn’t!
Our waitress was unhelpful and mostly absent — when I asked for pickles on my burger, she said they didn’t have any. I could definitely have made a better burger at home, and the waffle fries were tasteless! Even weirder, my glass of water had a funny licorice taste to it, which was altogether unpleasant.
The outdoor seating was okay, but the radio had Frank Sinatra on repeat, which grew quite tedious. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had overall, beware this place!

Nice covered outdoor seating. Waitress was very nice and attentive despite the very busy Pirate weekend.
The potato skins with cheese were good but not extraordinary. My burger was overdone and the waffle fries were not hot but the taste overall was good. My friend loved her tilapia however.

Late night on 2012 pirates weekend first Saturday with a small crew of people. Everyone enjoyed the band and the bar. The drummer was the best I have heard in years :). The bar had fights erupting, and was a bit wild-but I think that is the gist of the pirate festivities…

The location is the biggest winner here. It’s right off the main drag in Alex Bay. This place has a bar in the front and a restaurant in the back.
The bar can get busy in the summer and has a fun/weird layout with a ¾ size pool table. Good priced drinks and staff was pretty nice to us.
The restaurant is on the quieter side of the building with a big outdoor seating area, so you’ll get a great breeze in the summer. Standard fare, but a few healthier options, like salad or fish.

If this were just for the restrnt there would only be 2 stars. The Restrnt is very spacious and allows for niiice breezes in the summer time. The staff are friendly. The food? It may taste ok… but let me assure you the prices ppl pay for that food are toooo high. This is probably due to the town virtually shutting down by September-May.so maybe they have to make ends meet.
The Bar is better. The drinks arent to crazy in price, the staff is very friendly, and they have live music like every weekend. It can get very crowded in there during an event weekend like 4^th of July or Pirate Days. There are tv’s, pool tables, darts, and even an upstairs lil bar.

The last big years for this bar were somewhere between 1986 – 1990. Back when Alex Bay’s summers were a 5 night a week event. Not anymore…
This bar survives because the eatery can make enough money to pay the property taxes by its longtime owner. Otherwise it would have been gone years ago. Nice place though… summer breezes flow right in the place.
