In reality this is a 4 establishment, but seeing as it has an avg. rating on Unilocal, and it is the only takeout Chinese restaurant worth eating at twice in Alexandria I figured I’d give it 5 stars. Clean, fast, delicious food. Honey garlic wings are to die for! General Tso’s chicken uses gigantic chunks of all white meat and its awesome. Crab Rangoon is some of the best in recent memory. Chicken in garlic sauce has room for improvement. They use too much celery & the sauce is dominated with soy flavor instead of the sweetness & garlic flavors that I prefer from that dish. Their phone manners suck, but they are actually super friendly. They have even taken my order 15 minutes after closing and were very kind when I arrived to pick it up @ 1030. They get busy, and when they do they will hang up the phone on you as soon as you finish placing your order. It’s annoying, but get over it. No one else is serving good Chinese take-out in the area. There is room for improvement, but as long as the food quality remains consistent this is my spot for Chinese. I can’t speak to delivery speed & level of service, I always pick up. Update: the favors in the garlic chicken were better the next day. The sauce had a subtle sweetness that was not apparent when eating it the first day, and which I found very pleasing. I still think there is room for improvement with regards to this dish. First and foremost remove the celery entirely or dramatically reduce the amount used.

Great food, fast delivery, great value. Love chicken wings and Singapore style noodles. Delicious egg rolls too

The food here is not good. The beef in the beef with broccoli was tough. I ordered an egg roll and received a spring roll.

I stay at a hotel down the street from this place Several times a year. To be fair, the only thing I’ve ever ordered here is the Wor Won-Ton soup so I can’t comment on anything else. I’ve had it Dozens of times. It’s full of quality stuff, it’s delicious, it’s well prepared, and it’s cheap. They’re nice people and my phone order is always ready when I show up to get it. If you’re looking for a solid«utility» Chinese place. You can do much worse than this. PS. Get two Chili oil tubs. It really benefits from the heat.

I was in town for business and I have to admit that I picked this place purely on the name. The delivery was good and the food was typical Chinese delivery and not bad. Maybe I should have looked for a place called«Foody Greaty»?

I live in the National Harbor and it’s really hard to find places that deliver here. Well this place does(despite what Unilocal says when you try to online order.) The food was delicious and delivered pretty promptly. I’ll definitely be ordering from here again!

I regret my cheat meal from here. Had the beef chow foon and curry chicken. Curry chicken was alright, not as spicy or flavorful as I’m used to. The beef chow foon was lacking in flavor and in veggies(scallions and onions) for me. Also there weren’t any chopsticks or forks in my bag. Was it awful, no, I’ve had worse experiences but was it good, no.

Per suggestions of my co-worker, I decided to have Chinese food for lunch. I’ve heard so much about this place, mostly good things. I’ve seen the building in passing and wondered if it was condemned. So, you go inside where there is no seating. Then order from the cashier at the most unorganized register EVER! I mean, they have random stuff everywhere. However, the service was cool. I ordered sesame chicken with rice. Food was good though. I will assume the focus is on the taste of the food rather than the ambiance. I’m not mad at them. I would recommend(cheap and fast) lunch in Alexandria.

I feel a strong obligation to review Ginger Beef because I’m a regular and they know my order by my address. Ginger Beef is excellent quantity and quality for their price and their menu is really extensive. The lunch portions are big for only about $ 7 and dinner is only slightly more with one dinner portion lasts me at least two meals. I am vegetarian so it is a constant struggle to find good tofu which has flavor with a good consistency(not watery) but their tofu is amazing. I get the Fried Sesame Tofu and General Tso’s Tofu every time because the sauces are thick and are full of flavor. For vegetarians, they have other soups, tofu dishes, and veggie dishes for a good bit of variety. For Chinese takeout, I’d highly recommend Ginger Beef. Everyone working here and delivering the food has been extremely friendly!

A neighbor recommended this place to us when we moved into the neighborhood two years ago and I can honestly say it’s been consistently good quality chinese food. Like any neighborhood place you need to figure out what you do and don’t like from there. We do the kung pao chicken, and we’ve had beef dishes, too. I don’t love the«thai» style dishes but that’s my personal taste, everything else has been delicious. I’m not sure about all the comments regarding delivery, it’s something we’ve never had issue with, they’ve always been extremely timely. *Shrug* We’ll continue using this as our go to Chinese delivery joint.

I have only tried a few items from this restaurant, but they all fail in comparison to the Singapore Noodles(with shrimp, chicken and pork). This dish is by far the best I have had in many years. The quantity of the food should also be commented on. One order of Singapore Noodles makes 3 servings, easy, for average appetites. Their fried donuts are also quite tasty. I will continue coming back for their deliciously spicy Singapore Noodles since I never get enough of them!

I ordered my food from them over 2 and a half hours ago, and it still hasn’t arrived yet, which is super ridiculous. I called them after having waited an hour and a half, and they assured me my food was already on it’s way. I called again an hour later, and they had just gotten it into the delivery van, and rumor is that it is on it’s way right now(which means it is cold I’m sure, but I’ll update this when I know for sure). I get that they are busy on the weekend, but waiting 2 and a half hours seems more than a little excessive. The managing staff wasn’t helpful at all, which is disappointing because I’ve been a customer of theirs for a while, and have always enjoyed their food. Oh well, guess I’ll be ordering elsewhere for now on. It’s a shame, they will be the first one star review I’ve ever given. Update: food came in finally(It’s 8:57 now, and I ordered at 6:20), it’s cold as ice. Hopefully it reheats well.

This place is a good option for fairly reliable and consistent delivery Chinese food. I normally order steamed chicken and tofu with vegetables(brown sauce on the side) and brown rice(not too dry and good texture). Sometimes I have edamame. My sister has sampled more of the menu and enjoys the free lo mein when you order $ 25 or more worth of food. The delivery people are fairly nice too. Generally when we want to order something in my house, especially Chinese/Chinese American, this is our go-to place.

This is by far the best fast food Chinese take out/delivery that I have had in the DC area and I have tried many. We had chicken and broccoli and the sesame chicken and both were delicious. It’s white meat, moist, and not the mystery meat one sometimes finds at these places. It wasn’t tough or over cooked or overly greasy. I was extremely expressed and will keep coming back for delivery.

Food ====== $ 13.20(Three Small Orders of Fried Rice) It fed a neeeeed, but based on the small caption accompanying the star ratings, yes, I have had better, sorry Ginger Beef. Bonus! They accept credit cards :) Their beef fried rice special looks pretty good; if the craving comes again, might drop by to try it. Takes a while to cook, so at least ya know it’s all fresh!

This is better than Asian Wok, as: there is less filler in their food(things like piles of disgusting vegetables like celery that add bulk to the dish but not flavor); they are slightly cheaper and faster in preparing the food, and. well, that’s it. At the same time it is not MUCH better than Asian Wok — we got Shrimp Toast, Egg Drop Soup, Garlic Chicken and Mongolian Beef dishes. The Egg Drop Soup was pretty flavorless, and my garlic chicken had plenty of filler in it too — lots of long shredded carrots and celery-like vegetable that I’m not sure what it was. I had troulble sometimes finding the meat in there or the water chestnuts. I wish Chinese places around here did not do this. Lastly, I thought the shrimp toast was delicious. We have now sampled three Chinese delivery restaurants in our area — this, Asian Wok and South China. And in terms of our favorite, South China wins in a landslide. I still think about the amazing Laotian dish I got there and fiancé says the the Mongolian beef he got there is the best he has had in this area, no contest. While this place was just OK, I would recommend South China in the end. This place is number two, and Asian Wok, unfortunately the closest place to our condo, is in last.

Out of all the Chinese delivery places in Alexandria, this is definitely the worst. Everything was just flavorless. i know delivery Chinese isn’t particularly flavorful but this was ridiculous. The dumplings were very, very mysterious looking — even for Chinese delivery. They were also supposed to be steamed but looked like they were cooked on a grill or some other technique that is the antithesis of steaming. I did not dare eat the meat inside of the dumplings. The hot and sour soup was pretty bad too. I ordered some sad looking chow mein dish that I didn’t eat and is still in my refrigerator. Because this is by far the cheapest Chinese delivery in my zipcode, I figured it deserved a second star. But I would never eat or order from this place.

So good, we live nearby and get takeout all the time. I always pick up so can’t comment on delivery speed. Food is tasty and plentiful and reasonably priced. Friendly staff, place kind of looks like a dive, but never had any issues with the food. My new favorite is the Thai basil chicken, but we’ve had sweet and sour chicken, moo shoo chicken, general tsos chicken, wonton soup… all great. One disappointment, steamed dumplings. They were thick and fell apart. Also, the sauce that came with them was more like a thick BBQ sauce than what I’m used too.

We decided to try a new delivery place tonight, and ordered around dinner time(delivery took about 45 minutes). The vegetable spring rolls were delicious — big rolls, lots of veggies, just wonderful. Then we opened the Mongolian Beef(dinner portion $ 8.50) we ordered as a main course. There were only a few SMALL pieces of beef in the entire dish. When we fished out all of the beef, we were left with a FULL large takeout container of onions. It didn’t even equal a full meal for one, much less leave room for leftovers like most restaurant portions. The flavor of the actual dish was good, but we didn’t order a large container of onions. I wouldn’t have even been this upset if the remainder of the dish was a filling vegetable like zucchini, but I’m not going to eat a large bowl of onions for dinner. We’ll stick with South China.
