This PT office is affiliated with my surgeon and the surgery center so I called to make my appointment. The receptionist was not overly friendly. My first appointment was three days after knee surgery. It was safe to say that was my first day walking around outside of the house. We arrived five minutes early for a 12 noon appointment. We walked in the door with another family. The only front desk person is sitting around the corner barricaded by a computer screen and the sign on the wall says«please sign in and take a seat, someone will be right with you»…that led me to believe I did not need to physically tell her I was here for my appointment. She never looked up or around or greeted us. A person from the other family went and spoke with her and she called over a therapist that took that family into the facility. We waited for almost 30 minutes and my escort got up and said, «excuse me, she had a 12 o’clock appointment»…she said, «oh, sorry, I thought you came in with that other family»…well! she never looked up to see! She called my therapist and said, «hey, your 12 o’clock is here».(this was at 1230) My therapist did not seem to have an idea what to do with me or my recently operated knee. This was a bit concerning. It seemed as though she was not plugged in and she was improvising. Furthermore, she tossed a heavy ice pack up and over onto my knee(three days out of surgery!!) I jumped up! I was pissed. When it was all over… she said, «okay, make your next appointment on your way out. We will try to get you on the bike next time»… We did not stop… we just left and immediately began searching for a new therapist. One last note… we noticed another typed sign on the wall saying, «Do not make your PT appointments on the same day as your Dr’s appointments for insurance reasons»…this tells me that my time is not valuable to them. They want me to come to their facility twice as many times in efforts of them not having to work out the red tape of the insurance company viewing the two appointments as the same. That is bad service.
