If I could give zero stars I would because of the really poorly made product. Plus the way it was shipped. I purchased two«Rivera» RC boats. They arrived boxed ok but once I opened the boxes the way the boats were packaged lead me to believe that they repackaged returned items. The boats ran but they were cheap plastic and poorly constructed. Not worth the $ 99.00 dollars each. They were worth IMHO maybe $ 15.00 each. Customer service was ok helpful but tone of voice indicated to me that it was same song second verse. Overall due to the quality of the product. I received all wood colored plastic. I would not recommend this company.

I purchased something over the phone with Monica and she was very helpful. I’m not sure what all these reviews are about since I didn’t experience any of that. They have great stuff and I def would recommend them! I support online retailers and love everything they have to offer. This company’s nautical décor products are affordable and model ship sailboats are great for centerpieces for my son’s first birthday party. Everyone loved all the Nautical Décor we had at the party. They are opening their showroom soon in Alhambra and can’t wait. Thanks Handcrafted Model Ships for making my son’s party! More to come

I usually listen to other reviewers — red flag #1. I didn’t and ordered portholes MIRRORS because they had exactly what I wanted on the site. I ordered two mirrors — 12″ in white. They arrived and guess what… they aren’t mirrors but see thru plastic. The company sends you all kinds of GUARANTEED policies when you purchase — red flag #2! So, they said they would send out the mirror inserts, real easy to replace. The mirror inserts arrive today in a HUGE box. Guess what — they are not 12″ inserts but 20″ inserts — one of which does not have a gasket so it was defective anyway. I live on the east coast so it takes a few days for items to arrive. I immediately call them and they said they will ship out the right ones tomorrow. Oh — the salesperson indicated that I should keep the ones they sent because there is a high incidence of breakage… &$#@? Wow… all this for two 12″ mirrors that were made in India to begin with. Maybe I will have a completed order in a month. In the meantime, shame on me for not walking away from this place. How do they even stay in business? Update — wrong mirror size AGAIN. Stay away.

I agree with the other reviews here, This is a terrible company and suggest you take your business elsewhere. The product I ordered was defective and customer service rude and unhelpful. I ordered decorative porthole windows for a project for a school. The portholes arrived on a Friday, I examined the package, and the contents, and everything looked fine. Each porthole has a two large D bolts to make it look like a real porthole. When I received the package, I did not try screwing each D bolts on – just verified that they were there. Big mistake. On Wednesday, I tried to use them, I found that the D bolts were heavily painted on the threads, so they would not screw on straight if at all. I immediately contacted them and was told they won’t handle any complaint after 5 days. Period. I tried to scrape the paint off to get them to get the d bolts to screw on properly, but no luck there. If I use any pressure and try to force it, the particle board the thing is made of chips and flakes. Garbage.

Be careful & don’t believe the website. Items do not come fully assembled & you may get the wrong item. Be sure to measure the item. If they send you the wrong item, you will be expected to pay return shipping & they will not reimburse you. It has been 8 days since this company received my return shipment & they have yet to refund my card. There were 26 strings I was supposed to attach on the ship & the instructions were an impossible to read line drawing without any words. None of the strings attached to the ship were labeled & I was unable to tell where they went. The whole customer service experience has been a nightmare & I have had to file a complaint with the BBB& a dispute with my credit card company. I’m out $ 200& have no product.

As a Navy Veteran and a volunteer in a Navy veterans organization I was asked to purchase a gift to a family that lost their child in the war. I decided to purchase a Bosun whistle from Handcrafted Model Ships, before placing the order I called and spoke to a lady and I did not ask for her name, however, I explained to her the importance of the event that I am buying the gift for and the fact that I need it delivered no later than Friday after noon, November 7th. She explained to me that the item is in stock and if I purchase 2 days air Fed Ex shipping they will ship the item the same day and I am guaranteed to get it by Friday. After all this is a delivery within California, from Alhambra to San Francisco. Well Friday has arrived and no Fed Ex confirmation nor Fed Ex delivery, I did not have the time to deal with it as I had to leave for the event. Imagine the the disappointment of my team of me and to my embarrassment of not delivering on my promise of handing out a gift to the fallen soldier family the product did not show up until Saturday. Furthermore, instead of being delivered via FedEx the product was delivered by the US Postal service. On the label it says«MUSTSHIPONWEDNESDAY» however based on the date stamp the item was not shipped until Thursday. On Monday I called the merchant, I got the same lady on the phone and I explained to her my frustration. her answer was, «So what do you want us to do about it now?» I said I am willing to keep the product if you are willing to refund me the shipping cost or I can refuse shipment and send it back to you for 100% credit. The level of rudeness started to escalate, she started to make excuses how it is not their business fault that the US Postal service did not deliver the item on time, then she realized that she made a mistake so she said we say on the web sites that the shipping cut off time is 12PM, the educes and her inability to recognize the mistake was beyond my comprehension. As a small business owner I can just imagine how detrimental a bad review can be on Unilocal however i kept on being professional and requesting from her to be considerate of the unique situation that has been created and consider giving me the credit for the product that she promised to me to be delivered on time. Then guess what she did? she hung up on me. This is my first time shopping from them and I do not want to quickly judge her or the business owner for their business policy. People and businesses have some good days and some bad days, however I think other people have the right to know about my experience with this business and then do their own thinking.
