Good restaurant, staff very courteous. I ordered the chicken salad on croissant with house salad which was great! My wife ordered chick florentine crêpe. She tried to order with no mushroom but they stated could not remove as it was premixed so they were picked out manually. Other than service and food were great.

My family has loved Mittie’s since it opened in Alpharetta! It recently changed ownership, and we are even more pleased with the new management! My daughter’s long time fave is the Chantilly French Toast. I love the salads! The chicken salad never disappoints.

I have been to Mittie’s several times and have never been disappointed! Such a nice cozy atmosphere and the food is so deliciously amazing. Just booked reservations for Mother’s Day and I can’t wait. Their oatmeal soufflé is to die for. Did I mention the ambiance? So homie and quaint. You just can’t go wrong at Mittie’s!

This was my first time at this restaurant and it was underwhelming. We left hungry because we could not eat our lunch. My friend and I both ordered the quiche and it tasted rubbery and stale. Same goes for the little desserts they offer. Very disappointing food but most of all very disappointing response from the manager when we voiced our disappointment with our food. There was no offer to make anything better and we will not go back! There are so many choices to dine out and this has left such a negative impact. You can’t continue to offer subpar food and service and keep people coming back!

We had a baby shower here and it was absolutely perfect! The staff was amazing! They took such good care of us and also the kids that attended as well! Would recommend this place for anyone who is throwing a baby shower. It’s amazingly affordable and also gives you the opportunity as a host to enjoy the party as well! The food there is also amazing and we even had a vegetarian that they were so respectful to help her find a good option for her! I have never been here before this experience and this will def be my new brunch spot!

This is probably closer to a 2.5 star review than 2. This is my second time at Mittie’s, since i believe in going twice in order to get a better feel for the atmosphere etc. And just in case the staff and kitchen were having an off day. First time i went with some co workers, Mittie’s was great. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive and kept our water glasses full. My coworkers ordered a sandwich/salad, while i got the salmon salad. Portions were pretty good and flavors were on point. The kitchen was a bit slow however but given the location(an old re-purposed home turned into a restaurant) its excusable. The dining area is also a bit loud. Since the floors are hardwood the sound from different conversations tend to reverberate around the room causing a pretty loud atmosphere despite not being full. Overall i’d rate this first trip 4 stars. After seeing some of the things on the menu and the variety of options I decided that i’d take my wife the next time she was off during the week. During my second visit my wife got the crab crepes/lobster bisque and i again got the salmon salad. She like crepes a lot and the«fresh crab» description on the menu had her sold from the minute she read it. This time however, the service seemed a bit occupied. It wasn’t as busy but the waitress seemed like she was thinking about something else. Perhaps it was the new server she was training? She wasn’t rude but she didnt’ seem like she was paying much attn to the table either. It wasn’t a big deal since i’ve been a server previously but it was something i noticed. When the food came it looked great. The salad was as i had remembered previously and the crepes looked delicious. As we started our meal, my wife noted that the lobster bisque was very good; however the crab crepes were amiss. The«fresh crab» described turned out to be imitation krab. Thinking that it was probably mixed in with real crab she ate about half of the«crab» crêpe alas no crab only krab. when we asked the waitress she said it was white fish mixed with real crab, etc. either way we were pretty disappointed. myself more than my wife since i had suggested mittie’s café more than once when going out to eat previously. my wife finished about half the plate and didn’t want to finish the rest. we paid our tab and was on our way(the owner did take off 10% from the bill due to the«mix up»). Maybe they ran out of crab and had to substitute? In an already crowded restaurant market i really wanted to like Mittie’s Café but alas it wasn’t meant to be. Either way i probably won’t be back. If i had to recommend mittie’s i’d tell diners to keep to their traditional fare(breakfast, sandwiches, salads, lobster bisque, anything with chicken dishes) and steer clear of any«crab» dishes.

Absolutely amazing! We came here after discovering that Tin Roof Kitchen was no longer open. What a great decision! The lobster bisque along with the crab crepes were everything and more. The staff is really nice too and they even allowed us to sample some of the services prior to ordering. I love the«home» feel of this place and I can’t wait to return.

Yes chicken was reheated as previously reviewed complaint, so that has not changed. Waited 30 minutes for 2 lunches, when we where the second table of Customers. Crepes looked like a wet overcooked paste noodle. Still so hungry, go anyway else, they aren’t going to feed you. The waitress and hostess both know it’s awful, as we where never asked how our experience/food was.

This is really disappointing to write, but I’m afraid I have to. I have been a big fan of Mittie’s for years. The produce has always been very fresh, and I’ve not had a bad meal there. Until today. Now, the meal was very subpar, chicken was chewy, grisly and very overcooked. My husband and I both ordered the California Spring Salad with grilled chicken. Neither one of us could even eat the chicken due to it being so tough. It has obviously been pre-cooked and then reheated. It was rubbery and flavorless, didn’t seem to have been marinated at all. The avocados were days from even being close to ripe. So hard, we both piled those with the chicken. Completely inedible. More dissatisfying than even that, was the response I got when I sent a PRIVATEMESSAGE to whoever runs their Facebook page. I always do this first, in order to see how they respond to a complaint. This is the response I received, «we regret your experience. Please come back and chat with us, we’d welcome the opportunity to address and correct I left a thorough message detailing everything I mentioned above. There is no need to «chat». This person generated what seemed to be a very generic response to a complaint without even addressing the specific issues. On top of that, I don’t even deserve proper capitalization or punctuation? I even mentioned that I owned a business(by name) nearby. The response should have been very different, including addressing specific issues and offering to send over even a modest gift certificate to invite us to give them another chance. Sorry, Mittie’s. It’s a shame, but I gotta call you out. I wouldn’t have reviewed had I gotten a better and more thoughtful response to what WAS a private complaint. Now it must be public. How about this? You know where my business is and what my name is from my PM. If you want me to revisit or to continue to send my clients over to you, then COMEVISITME. And don’t show up without an apology. Whoever is in charge doesn’t understand the value of making sure your local business owners surrounding you are happy. Shame.

This place is a rip off. The tea time 20 $ plate is TINY. Barely a sandwich, a prepackaged hostess mini muffin and 6 tiny fruit slices. The tea is ALL grocery store tea. Save yourself time, money and disappointment. Go elsewhere.

It’s a tea room that does a very poor job with TEA. The water was lukewarm, twice. The tea was an assortment of packets like Bigelow, Tazo, Lipton, etc. The food was OK but lacked the tea room feel of other similar places I’d been to. I had the quiche and salad. The quiche tasted like Italian breakfast quiche and not at all the brunch feel I was looking for.

3.75 stars. Good food served by friendly people. Not a whole lot of testosterone floating around. Great for the ladies, though! If the front room gets a little loud request a quieter table in the back. Did I mention that the staff was extraordinarily friendly? They’re great!

Took long to serve us. Food was good. They charged my card twice and when we tried to get it corrected the older short haired blonde yelled at our waitress in front of us telling her to shut up, because she caused it. Mistakes happen, but I’m not in favor of demeaning or insulting staff in front of customers. My co workers and I will never go back.

Food is delicious — cute little environment(a tad on the tight side though). This is my «treat» place to eat. I always get the chicken salad croissant with the side salad and a sweet tea. I love that the side salad is not just a plain salad. Blue Cheese, Walnuts, cranberries — perfect. The Tea is a sweet mint tea and is dangerously addicting. Easily my favorite lunch spot around.

We dined here this morning for breakfast. The fact that we were the only patrons there for almost an hour till 10:00 a.m. was somewhat interesting. We had the New Orleans French Toast, which was fabulous and definitely was some of the best french toast that I’ve in Alpharetta. We also ordered the Crepes Lorraine. Although I thought that the crepes were decent, the home fries were dried out and not edible. I did love the scones and the biscuits that came with the meals As for the service: I think that our waitress tried her best, but it really was sub-par. She had a hard time taking our order, and we could never find her to refill our coffee or take our finished plates off the table. And, we were the ONLY people there, so there really was no excuse for the lack of timely service.

I came here on a Friday morning for breakfast with a friend. This is a cute, charming space and breakfast was fairly priced. I ordered the ham, egg and cheese croissant sandwich. This thing was so large that I couldn’t finish it with the side of fruit salad and a small scone. Scones are a funny thing. Don’t get me wrong, the blueberry scone that came with my dish was delicious but it looked and tasted kind of like the ones I’ve bought at Publix. I was hoping it’d be more crumbly. I’m pretty sure most of the baked items are made in-house and could be enjoyed more with tea. I’d definitely come back to try out the other items on the menu and definitely for some kind of afternoon tea thing. This is one of those ideal«ladies who lunch» kind of cafes. Or «ladies who breakfast.»

After hearing everyone tell me I just HAD to go to Mitties, I finally did for brunch one Saturday. This place exceeded expectations! First of all parking was easily accessible and there was no wait around 11:30am on a Saturday. Amazing. I ordered the crab quiche with a salad and was surprised at the generous portions. The quiche was so good with chunks of crabmeat throughout. The side salad was not to be outdone, topped with dried cranberries, walnuts, and blue cheese and was excellent when paired with the cilantro lime vinaigrette. I also got a small carrot cake muffin with my meal which was very tasty as well. The entire meal was garnished to perfection. There were quite a few formal gatherings going on around us as we watched one woman after another enter with ribboned presents and gift bags. Luckily the setup at Mitties affords the space for these gatherings but also keeps them shielded enough so as not to disturb the other patrons. The clientele is heavily female and perfectly lends itself to an outing with girlfriends. Can’t wait to come back and try one of their more formal tea options!

So… I read two reviews on here about how fantastic the lobster bisque was, and, as a huge fan of the dish, and a huge tea lover, I HAD to go try it. Unfortunately, this place came well below expectations in every aspect. The bisque. Not a single piece of lobster in my bisque, or anythign that resembles fish. It was artificially flavored with something like the crab sticks, but I can definitely tell a lobster was nowhere near my food at any point in time. Think of it as a tomato soup that had some crab sticks in it back in the day. The crackers that came with it have also seen better days, also no selection, crumbled and old. The crepes. Yuck. Nothing special. And in addition, they charged us some ridiculous fee to split the crepes(about 25% of the cost of the dish, and without letting us know there would be a fee), but did not actually split it — we ended up having to dig it out ourselves. They didn’t actually bother giving us an extra plate to share either. The tea. Where do I start. Bad, generic selection of prepackaged teas? Non-availability of loose leaf, or any kind of variety, outside of the standard Bigelow selection of 5 flavors? Or should I mention that the water in my teapot was lukewarm at best, and the hotter water never came? I did not expect upscale service from a casual little place like this, but I did expect SOME service, and SOME quality of food… And maybe even some selection of tea varieties from a restaurant that calls itself a tea place. Stay away and go spend your $ at a chain coffee joint on the corner, at least you will get tea that’s hot and decent food at its advertized price.
