Hampton Inn

We held a family reunion here in January 2015. The staff was very friendly and efficient, and they went out of their way to help us. The free breakfast was extensive and very good and the attendant lady made sure everyone was finished before she closed up. Free coffee, decaf and tea flowed 24×7. The rooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable, with a variety of pillows to fit any preference. The fitness center is small, with only one treadmill and one elliptical, but I never had to wait. There is a pool but I didn’t check it out. Wifi is free for up to three devices.

The staff at the front desk were super friendly and attentive. The room and lobby were nice. The breakfast was really good for a hotel free breakfast. Everything was fresh and replenished quickly. The indoor pool was a nice touch as well. We walked to dinner at the sports bar across the parking lot and it was great as well.

Much nicer than I expected. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bath products given we name brand (sorry, I forget which brand). and the free breakfast was quite extensive and different each morning. There was a pool and a (small) gym and free coffee was offered all day long in the lobby as well as having a pod coffee maker in the room.
The only thing I was not happy about was the price. While it was not expensive, I would expect to pay a bit less for a hotel that is out in the country like this one than I would for a hotel that is in the middle of a city. That was not the case here.
The staff was friendly and they made it quite clear they were happy that I was an HHonors member even though I am blue (lowest level possible).
In the same parking lot is a chain bar/​restaurant so it’s easy to have some drinks there and be able to walk back over to the hotel.
Overall I had a nice experience here.

Amazing staff, facilities, bed & pillows and best breakfast ever eaten in 25 years traveling. Definitely coming back next time we come to visit.

This hotel is ok, but definitely antiquated. If it was a cheap hotel, then it would get 4 stars, but since it is a Hampton (and expensive), then it is sub-​par.
The service was great.

My husband and I were visiting Altoona for a family wedding, and many guests were staying at the Hampton Inn. Tragedy struck this morning when two of my three wedding bands turned up missing! After a visit to the front desk, the Hampton Inn Dream Team stepped into action. The management team, housekeeping crew and laundry staff were all on high alert! Michelle from the laundry area found my rings in the laundry. She personally went through every single load and recovered both of my precious rings! This hotel certainly went above and beyond my expectations to recover my lost articles. You’ve got our business forever!

It’s a perfectly nice Hampton Inn, conveniently located in Altoona. Problem is, though, that reliable internet access is a must for business travelers. And the Wifi here is brutally slow and seems to be somewhat misconfigured. My work laptop hangs consistently and my personal machine connects very slowly. Two others in my team also complained of very slow speeds.
I approached the front desk a couple of times. One person seemed to be aware that something was wrong but showed me her iPhone, that was working. The second person also showed me her iPhone working. So, I don’t know if this is a rehearsed answer or just a coincidence.
So, I wish this hotel well, but can’t stay here again, I have work to do.

From the start of making my reservation they were super nice. They were helpful, courteous and had a happy to be there attitude. I had some luggage issues and my bag with all my toiletries were not with me. They were able to help me out with arranging for my bag to be dropped off while I was gone to providing me with everything I needed to get ready for the next day! So helpful! Kudos to Hampton inn, Altoona =)
