ALWAYSGOODFOOD! Not much beverage selection as its BYOB. The soda is always flat, but who needs soda anyways when the food is so DEEEELISH!!! Chicken teriyaki is THEBESTITEMONTHEMENU!

The food here is very delicious. I have come here several times and each time the service was quick and accommodating. Today, I went with three friends and wanted to take a picture. A manager took the photo and even adjusted the lighting to make it look better. I promised myself I would write a review to give him credit for his kindness.

No complaints here. Quaint place with charmingly uneven floors and tables. Great service and staff, fast and friendly. Ordered Edemame, it was lightly salted but the salt flavor was just right. Perfect amount for two people to share. Excellent. Also ordered the Fantastic Roll, the Crunch Roll, the Eel Avocado Roll, a Philly, and a Spicy Tuna. All pictured. Presented very well. All came out in great timing, we did not wait long. The Fantastic is an expensive roll at $ 12.95, but is sizeable, it is a larger diameter and is quite long. Crunch was the same diameter as the Fantastic, but is a bit shorter(and cheaper). I liked both, but the Eel roll was the best of the ones we ordered. I wish we’d ordered three of those and saved the money in the two larger special rolls. Very good food nonetheless. Attentive wait staff kept drinks full and did not have us wait long for the bill or to process payment. We have eaten here about 5 times, and have had a similar experience on each time, so the place is consistent. Recommended.

I had their salmon donburi and it was so good! It tasted like sushi in a bowl. Being from Connecticut, Korean food like this is limited so it was a nice change. I stop by UMass Amherst from time to time, so I had to check this place out. It’s so close to UMass, so it’s an easy drive. The service is pretty good, staff and waiters are nice. The food/wait time wasn’t long either. Overall, great experience!

House of Teriyaki was fantastic. They were very adamant to make sure we were well taken care of. The food was delicious, and very high quality for what you can find in Amherst. Very nice atmosphere, can be classy or casual. Definitely recommended!

I love this place so much, I always say it is the one thing I will truly miss when I graduate college. Food is so consistent and the prices are so fair for someone like me who is always strapped for cash. The service is always great, and it’s my go-to for takeout and on the rare occurrence that I feel like dining in.

I am a simple man; I got 3 different rolls for a lazy take-out that was subsequently to be consummated with my beer of choice… To say the least, it was fookin’ amazing. Many people complain about banal details in reviews and it is often at best a self reflection. I got a 911, Caterpillar, and a Fantastic roll… I did not finish, but I tried and nearly died with joy. Top notch. Top.

We’ve been coming to the House of Teriyaki occasionally for the past several years. The sushi is fresh and there are some creative rolls. We always seem to get the sushi but I’m looking forward to trying some of their other selections. The ability to BYOB is a huge plus.

One of my favorite places in the valley. The setting is great. Just a pleasant place to eat. The menu is extensive and the service is as pleasant as can be.

This place is really great for vegan folks, as their chili tofu is unbelievable. The place would have gotten five stars had they not been out of tofu tonight. It’s like McDonald’s not having hamburgers.

You can tell a lot about a restaurant by how well they clean and maintain their restaurant. If the tables are not properly cleaned after patrons leave how can we expect them to have a clean kitchen? Now I don’t know whether or not the kitchen at H.O.T. is clean or not but if I were a betting man I would go all in on it being dirty. I say that because the table we were seated at was still very sticky and had sauce on it from the last costumer. The bathrooms reeked with the stench urine and other of foul smells. They have allowed the faucet of the sink to become covered in calcium deposits and they made no attempt to repair their paper town dispenser. On to the food. I ordered the H.O.T. Bento Box — the namesake lunch special. I could not have been more disappointed. The salad was drenched in a dressing that was far too sweet and was no more than iceberg lettuce and a slice of cucumber. The chicken teriyaki was served cold and we were given hardly more than a spoonful of the noddles. The only redeeming quality was the vegetable tempura, which is fried and nearly impossible to screwup… Needless to say, I will not be returning to H.O.T. any time in the future.

Place was empty… But I got a lunch tray and I loved it. I’ll be back again. Must try the veggie tempura! It was perfection! The restaurant cleanliness was lacking but the food was good.

While living in the Pioneer Valley there aren’t as many options for Asian restaurants as in Boston, but I have so many fun memories of meeting with my friends here with my friends for Lunch and Dinner to catch up on life. We didn’t have cars, so it was extremely convenient that this place was right along the North Amherst/Sunderland Bus Route. When I’ve gone during lunch, I enjoyed the lunch specials, which come with a soup and salad. I’ve tried the H.O.T. box which comes in a cute bento box. It has the standard chicken teriyaki with some tempura veggies and shrimp with some basic sushi rolls. The prices are very reasonable and filling for $ 13. My favorite though was probably the Salmon Donburi. It looks so delicious just from the photo. Anyway it’s not a big deal that this place does not have a liquor license since you can BYOB. The place does tend to get quite crowded on the weekends and nights so if you go with a large group of people then, be prepared to wait.

I frequented this place a lot in college because it was a one minute bus ride from my door room. I’ve tried almost everything on this menu, and I would say the highlight is definitely the Korean food. The servings here are fairly large and they definitely cater to you when it comes to spice level. As far as the teriyaki goes, it is ok. And the sushi is pretty average. However I do find myself consistently ordering the 911 roll. Oh and the best part is it’s BYOB. And it is around the corner from Big Guys liquors. Try out the chili shrimp and have them heat up some sake for you.

I often went here, when I was around the area. Really good Korean food here, since the owners are Korean :) Highly recommend the salmon donburi! And I really like their salad that comes with the meal hehehe However I don’t recommend the sashimi — sometimes I get the fish still frozen. Bleh! Close to UMass campus, and on the 31 bus line. Great for students and dates! Restaurant — asian décor, booths, okay cleanliness and bathroom. Service — good. Sometimes you just need to stare at the waiters/waitresses to get their attention. Pricey but worth it for the flavor.

House of Teriyaki is a great restaurant situated in North Amherst. Tonight we stopped in for some delicious food, and decided to start the meal off with some sushi. We purchased California, Spider and Spicy Tuna rolls, and were a little disappointing in the fact that they came apart as we picked them up with our chopsticks. The ingredients in the rolls were extremely fresh, but the rice was average at best. The Miso Soup and salad that accompanied our meals were fantastic, and we were excited to have the Korean Kalbi. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the white rice that came with the meal was great as well. Overall this restaurant make incredible food, but sometimes the sushi is lackluster. The staff is always extremely polite and it is nice to BYOB.

House of Teriyaki has really food Sushi, and I enjoy the Chicken Teryaki as well. The prices are higher than the other places in town, but they do offer more Sushi choices. Unfortunately, the 6 or so times I’ve been here, service is really slow, so don’t choose this place if you’re in a rush!
