I went for brunch on a Sunday. It was a beautiful day, so we sat out on the patio. Artichoke dip in a bread bowl was excellent! I really enjoyed my steaktip salad. Prices were reasonable. Service was good. I would go back.

I’ve only been here once and will NEVER go again. First of all, although it’s inexpensive, the cover fee for going on a Thursday night($ 5) is a little much in a college town. especially when all of the other bars are free to get in. The music was blasting way too loud in all areas of the bar, not just right next to the speakers which are foolishly placed next to the bar area. where you’re supposed to be ordering drinks. How is the bartender even supposed to hear what I’m asking for? My biggest complaint though would have to be with the staff here. They seem unprofessional, miserable and project a bad attitude onto their customers. I waited for 25 minutes to get a tonic water(not even a drink) and the bartender had seen me many times before that. Not only had she been ignoring me she was rolling her eyes when serving me. All in all, not a fun experience at all. Do not recommend for anyone trying to enjoy themselves.

Affordable good food that won’t break the bank. Very welcoming hip waiters. My girlfriend and me make sure to always come here since she just started going to college in Amherst. I usually get a burger and fries. The mozzarella sticks are like no other, not your normal bar kind. Allot of booths and also a big seating area if your in a group. It’s walking distance from the strip. I will recommend anyone to try out this place if their looking for a quick bite.

The worst, the worst, the worst food, interior, everything. Picture 1950 with bad coffee and it’s still worse.

Decent, nothing more. Go and try it for the outdoor seating and the beer. They make up for the mediocre food.

Not very pleased with sandwiches, waitstaff was new and should have had some support. Ran out of sweet potato fries as well. Waited 15 minutes to place order.

Good pub food. Typical pub fare – burgers, sandwiches, a little mexican, a few dinners. Servers are inexperienced but they try hard. Try the pub burger. 1⁄3 pound of warm greasy meat, lots of bacon & cheese on buttered grilled bun. Yum. I wish they would bring back the crinkle fries. You’ll leave with your stomach full and with money still in your pocket. Overall good food and not too pricey. Sign up for Thursday night specials on their website. Usually $ 5 burgers.

For a while after moving to Amherst, this was our go-to place. The food, in my opinion, is pretty good. The service is usually good(though, with any place near a college, workers graduate and new ones come on who can be clueless). The biggest problem, and the reason I won’t go back, is the management. For a while, there would be occasional days when the kitchen and servers were short-staffed and things got backed up a bit. Tough, but tolerable when it was me, my wife, and 5yo daughter. More recently however, the new staff don’t see to be trained very well(manager’s responsibility). We went back this past Sunday after a long period without going — this time with my 4month old daughter as well(who is super chill in places like this and loves to be out). The servers and kitchen were completely understaffed. After an hour of waiting, our waitress was nice enough to go and figure out that our ticket hadn’t even been started… yup, 1 hour in, and they didn’t even start making the food. Like I said, this happened a couple times before, but never this bad. We left without getting a meal. Given the potential for this to happen again(i.e., sit in a place for an hour keeping my kids occupied and end up with no meal), I’m not going back. If you are a college kid looking to hang out, it’s a good/OK place. If you have a family and want to go there for lunch after church, I wouldn’t recommend it.

This is my to go place when the weather is nice to sit outdoors — the Pub has a nice padio and a great selection of items on their menu! I love their burgers(some of the best I’ve had in this area) and the honey barbecue chicken sandwich is very tender. I’ve also had steak tips which were pretty good. The prices are quite reasonable and the service is great.

First off, The Pub’s burgers are excellent, the buns are soft and moist. Their Caesar salad is uninspired and bland. For a dinner sized Caesar salad they will give you a meager portion of chopped lettuce, three to four croutons(that I can only guess were not made on site given their generic preparation), one to two shreds of a hard cheese underneath the lettuce. I think there may have been a crumble or two of hard boiled egg but it was hard to tell. Don’t even bother asking for anchovies if that’s your flavor, they don’t have them. Overall I wish I paid two more dollars and got one of their burgers. The sad thing is that Pasta e Basta, a very popular Italian restaurant in Amerst, has an actually large, superior Caesar salad for $ 4.95. For two dollars and change less you can have home made croutons, fresher and greener lettuce, a fair amount of cheese, and the option of anchovies. At the pub, stick to the burgers.

I just got to say… stay away from their Shrimp Bisque soup. One of the most bland, spicy(not sure what made it so hot) & nasty tasting soup I have ever tasted. 2 spoonfuls & I was done w/it. Very blah! On the other hand try your hand w/their Clam Chowder, tasty but they need to warm it up more. Their burgers are decent. Hubby loves their fries, their ok. Their Mozzarella sticks are very yummy.

We went here for dinner recently. I had a ruben and it was solid but nothing special. It has outdoor seating which is always a plus. The biggest strike it has against it is location, if it off the beaten path and although it has its own parking lot, it is often busy because it is shared by so many businesses. We did not mind the long walk from the center of town, but others may.

I was pleasantly surprised at The Pub, given some of its overall Unilocal rating and some of the not-so-hot reviews. Granted, we visited for dinner on a Friday night when students were home on break, so it’s possible our experience would have been different if not for that fact. As others have pointed out, the menu is «eclectic.» There’s no real theme to the dinner options at The Pub; instead the menu is a diner-esque compilation of enchiladas, pulled pork, chicken parmigiana and dozens of similarly unrelated items. Typically, I find this type of kitchen sink menu disconcerting, but thankfully our meals were great. At my father-in-law’s suggestion, I ordered the fish tacos(which was probably about as far out of the box as I was willing to go in this particular restaurant). I wasn’t disappointed– they were actually really delicious. Large pieces of cod were accompanied by fresh pico de gallo, shredded cabbage, and a mild chipotle sauce.(The sauce was described as spicy, but it wasn’t really.) I ordered a side of fries as well, and they were excellent– thin cut, and crispy. Our waitress was friendly, and did a completely fine job. Prices are super reasonable. As others have noted, the beer selection is not terrific. There is plenty to choose from, but it’s clearly a quantity over quality situation.

5 stars for nostalgia. 2 stars for food. As a college student I’m the 90s this was he place to go. And to all the people who knock the pub and the NYC students who go there, let me just say duh we know its not a club I mean have you ever been to NYC. This is just a fun place at least in he 90s to drink and dance. Antonios. Ok so it not really pizza but my god is it delicious. Had the BBQ chicken and broccoli and I have to say I’m a happy camper.
