If you compare the old colonial lanes and new refurbished site, it seems incomparable. It’s not cheap, but I can see how folks might perceive it as a high quality experience. You bowl under 3 huge tv screens now. The game room was a winner. Much better than before. The food service was awful. At least before, you could just go up and order and bypass the servers. Now you stuck no matter how busy or incompetent they are. Pick a quiet time to go. It’ll be great.

I was inspired to download this app to rate this place. I have to admit I am no food critic, however the food was subpar. I was more displease with the fact that we were told that we could not bowl due to league night, however the whole time we were there, five lanes were open and not being used. We were there for over two hours. Since we couldn’t bowl, we decided to have a bite to eat and use the arcade. The arcade is great, the service was horrendous. I waited over 10 minutes each for my beer refills and the kids had to go to the bar to get their soda refilled. Not to mention we had to wait at the table for about 15 minutes before anyone came to serve us. Overall, good atmosphere and great idea, but extremely bad customer service. I won’t be running back anytime soon

I would give it a 5 if it were not for the service. The remodel is pretty cool. The game room is awesome. The TVs are a huge improvement. The service could be the worst in the city. I have been here twice and waited at least 15 minutes both times before someone came to the table — once in the bar and the other time on the lanes. Once they came, they asked what we wanted when we had never been given a menu. The food took forever once we ordered. I would say the food is a slight improvement over Cubs AC. The first time we came, we were in a hurry to leave to make an event and it took 20 minutes to get the bill. We kept asking different people but none could help and our server had disappeared. They just do not seem to have enough people working and the ones that are working are not stellar. If you don’t mind waiting 60 minutes from the time you get there until you get your food, you will like this place.

The remodel is somewhat ugly, but better than it was before as it no longer reeks of cigarette smoke. It is very loud and a lot of stimulation with several huge tv screens up in front of the lanes and small tvs at the bar AND music pumping! Too much. Waited in a long line for shoes and had to wait in line again because our bumper wasn’t up. A man behind the counter was very passive aggressive when I asked him to get our bumpers up but he did get it done quickly. You pay by the hour here and they turn your lane off at exactly an hour. If you want more time added because you are in between games, you have to wait in the long line again. We had to do this twice(once to add just 10 minutes because they stopped the game when we had 1 ball left to play) and were feeling pretty frustrated by it. Combine that with the noise and I had a splitting headache. Food service was super slow, but the pizza was good. They have a limited beer menu, but nice to see some craft beer available. Our server was overwhelmed, but friendly. I don’t think I will be back unless they have something like a Halloween Rocky Horror bowl where all the screens and music are turned off and they play the movie on the big screens but I don’t see anything creative like that in their future.

Took my 8 yo for a little 1:1 time. Marveled at the gorgeous new interior complete with big screen over the bowling lanes and HUGE game room. Glad they have kids size balls and shoes. My son rejected the ramp(wanna be a big boy syndrome) but the lane bumpers came in handy as this is his first time. Clerk misquoted us price rate initially(at $ 7.50) something we found out was an error when I went back to pay for more time. The rate is about $ 20/hour(you can buy a ½ hour. Customer service needs to meet facility. I stood in a line behind easily 15 – 20(some part of groups of course) but only one cashier so wait was significant… Had we known the correct price initially we could have saved this time! The arcade is PRICEY. $ 1.50 to $ 2.00 for each game. Multiple player games are more. Front bowling desk staff didn’t know prices for arcade so I purchased the(required game card with $ 2.00 new card fee) without knowing. We purchased $ 5 + the $ 2 new card fee($ 7 total) and played just 3 arcade games. We’ll try the food next time… You could easily spend $ 50 – 60 for an hour of bowling and a few arcade games(2 people) WITHOUTFOOD. Maybe a nice gift for someone? After 90 minutes between both activities, my 8 yo says he would rate this place«4STARS because some of the toys are overpriced». He liked that it was big and new. I give it about 3 stars due to cost & so-so customer service which makes 3.5 between the two of us. So we have to rate full stars… Hence the 4 stars.

This place gets a 5 for the remodel. It looks AMAZING! We sat at a high top, and our waitress was very nice. The nachos, not so much. The first one was cold, so the waitress had them remade. still not good. Don’t get em. The bass from the sound system also sounds like my brother’s car from the 90s. We’re trying more food, and thank god they have beer:) Update: the boneless wings were not good either. Damn.

Reopened as a place called«Revel and Roll». Terrible service, waited an hour and a half for food. Nachos came out cold and they never put our other two orders in. Great potential, major flop!

Do not go here to host a kids birthday party! The staff acted as though this was their first birthday party they ever worked. A year earlier we were at a different bowling facility out of state hosting our child’s bowling party and when we got there the staff asked for our list of what kids were assigned what lanes, got it typed in, and we were ready to bowl. This was the opposite experience! Tonight when we got to this place early, it would have been a great time for«staff» to talk to us about what we needed done. I say«staff» in quotes because we were assigned ONE person for a party of 294th graders. And what could we have talked about right when we got there? Maybe Programming names into the machines on each bowling alley! But there was no thought to set up and lanes were not ready. And the place took no lead on anything! Allegedly they have hosted tons of parties but you would never know it. We were in the new party/bowl combo room and one guy was assigned to us and it became obvious very fast that he knew only about pizza and drinks — not about how to work the lanes and get the actual party started! So as we are waiting and waiting and waiting for kids names to get programmed into the lanes, the kids want to just start rolling the ball down the lanes for fun. They couldn’t. The lanes weren’t ready!!! The kids were pushing buttons for help.(One of the staff was super annoyed when she came in to «help». She didn’t really understand why the kids were pushing the help buttons. BECAUSETHELANESWERENOTWORKING!!! And she had an attitude with us, the people paying!). When you are at a bowling party and the lanes are not ready, there is nothing to do!!! After someone finally programmed the names into the machines on each lane, only the initials(and not the names) went on the screens! So when the kids looked-up, they didn’t know which lane they were assigned. Remember, there are 29 kids!!! The bumpers also seemed to be a big challenge for the staff — that alone took 20 minutes and it took another person coming into the room to help. There should have been at least one person who knew how to technically help at a party of 29 kids! And they should have been assigned to us right away when we got there and taken the lead on helping. Even something as simple as a sign saying what room the party was located in – our guests didn’t know where to go because there wasn’t one! There was a bowling pin for the kids to sign — but we had to ask the guy for a pen to sign it! Wouldn’t they bring out pens with the bowling pin if the point was to have kids sign it?! Too many things to list here but you get the idea. Overall it was a nightmare and I would NOT suggest this place.

Going down so fast it’s hard to watch. My kids bowl on a league and attendance has dropped in half every year for 3 years, for good reason. The waitstaff walks around and doesn’t want to do anything. You want to order a pizza you have to get up and find them. Every week the reaction is the same, «You know they’ll have slices out in about 30 mins» I reply yes but it’s cheaper to order a whole pizza for all of us” They roll their eyes then 45 min later the just ok pizza comes. The manager would never notice as she never gets up off her chair. The league used to pass out free bowling to the kids all the time but now they can’t even bowl while waiting for their siblings to finish without paying extra. At the end banquet each kid gets a plack, there is no awards. They serve macaroni and cheese soup loaded with raw onions to kids — Yuck! It’s our last year here and it seems that the other parents on our team are going elsewhere also next year.

Went there yesterday to have a beer for my coworkers last day. Ordered a Oddside Ale Bean Flicker pint, was told that the beer is not discounted for happy hour, I said ok that’s fine. Barkeep brings me my beer and says that will be $ 9.54. I respond with something along the lines of: You have got to be kidding me. Barkeep responds: I don’t make the prices. Well I don’t know who does but that beer is 4.5% alcohol by volume and not a beer that should be more than $ 6/pint in Manhattan, NY let alone a bowling alley in Ann Arbor Michigan. Good luck paying for that new party room, it surely won’t be paid for off my business.

I measure by three different things in comparison to Taco Bell: DECOR: The restaurant is located right next to Colonial Lanes, which is a bowling alley. It’s not exactly a nice restaurant and reminds me of being in a little sports bar. There are TVs on dining tables and around the dining area displaying the hottest sports games. For me the place is kinda crowded actually. I feel like the tables are too close together and there isn’t a lot of room if you are the type who likes isolation when dining. .5 stars for Décor. SERVICE: The waitstaff here is pretty decent. They are mostly attentive, but sometimes can be held up and sometimes forgetful. For the most part though they are good. 1.5 stars here. FOOD: The food is is slightly above mediocre. I think their pizza actually isn’t that good at all and would recommend getting their burgers which are very good. The appetizers taste like they were cooked from frozen, but despite that taste good. 1 star for food here. FINALVERDICT: Is Taco Bell better? Yes. Look if you were thinking about Cubs AC you were probably wanting some junk or bar food. Why not save the trip and some money and head on over to Taco Bell? Then you can watch the game from home or play video games or do whatever. You don’t have to pay for a tip and Taco Bell is easy to clean… just throw those paper wrappings away. You can also buy more tacos from the amount you saved not going to Cubs AC. Make it a Taco Bell night!

Terrible service. We waited 15 minutes before anyone came to get a drink order. Two of us at our table. We ordered 4 shots, 2 cocktails, a beer aand the potatoe twister appetizer. Another 25!!’ YES25MINUTES to get our drinks as soon as the drinks came we asked for the bill since we knew for as long as it took for drinks, and probably will take just as long for food and our tab. The guy brings the bill and the appetizer isn’t on it. So I’m assuming it isn’t coming ask the waiter and he apologized. I said hey if u forgot or it isn’t in the kitchen already forget it. Our drinks r gone and were not waiting for another round. So no food for us… Ps: the draft beer came in a 10oz Dixie cup. Had I know I would’ve ordered a few ! Also over heard someone inquire about parking to the manager(big fat guy who was a dick). Apparently even bowling alley customers have to pay $ 20 to park on game day. So much for bowling on a Saturday on the fall. They should have atleast a couple reserved for customers you’d think…

The chilli cheese fries hit the spot here. It’s also a fun bowling alley close to campus. I was surprised when they also had socks available for purchase for dummies like me who forget to wear them before they leave.

I have lived in Ann Arbor for 4 years now and by far they have the worst serving staff ever! I asked if they had wifi and the waitress says«yes, but I don’t know» staring at me for a while and finally tells me to go all the way over to the bar to ask someone else. I asked if she can ask someone instead and she grumpily tosses the menu books on the table right next to us. Okay, maybe it is not part of their job to go ask for something they are unware of but should have known. The next thing I know is they come with extra plates with a piece of chicken smashed and stuck in between two plates. It was gross enough for us to almost lose our appitite but we held ouselves to kindly ask for a different plate. She doesn’t even look surprised and without a single apology she grabs the plate as if we were being the ones who are picky. Umm. should I have said sorry for bugging her over nonsense? Now, after waiting for 15 mins after making our order we feel so thirsty to beg her for water. My friend asks if we can get some water. She brings one glass, of course. I used to come here every week two years back. I don’t know what happened, maybe their ego is high enough thanks to the bowling alley that they would never go out of business no matter how they treat their customers? I am writing this with so much fury not even being able to finish my meal right here on the dining table of Cubs. Not coming back!

This place is okay, about on par with any other bowling alley I’ve been to. I’ve been a few times over the years and had fun. Cosmic bowling is interesting. The food is okay. Can’t remember how expensive the beer was, but at least it’s an option.

Went here last night on a Thursday. It was 10 and they had a special 1.40 $ per game per person. Plus the shoes were about a buck. Good prices for bowling. Basically 25 $ got 4 people 3 games each. HOWEVER we ordered pitchers of beer. Mind you no where on their menu do they have their drinks and prices listed. Turns out one pitcher was 18 dollars. Well after 4 pitchers that’s 72 dollars. WTF. SOOOOOOOOOOVERPRICED. RUDESERVICE. GOTHEREJUSTDONTDRINK

This is a pretty standard bowling ally. It has lanes, pins, smelly shoes, arcade games for the kiddos, kitchen, and a bar. They charge by the hour, as opposed to the game. I’m used to dollar nights back in Cali., so when my hubby and I came here on a double date this weekend, the prices were a bit higher than what I’m used to. For two hours and three shoe rentals(our fourth party brought his shoes), came out to a little over $ 56. We went on a Saturday afternoon and was surprised at how packed it was. I guess this is a pretty popular place for kids to have a birthday party. I would recommend calling a head of time to see how busy they are and I believe you can put your name in a couple hours early.

We chose Colonial Lanes for our office outing, and it was great! We bowled from 3 – 5:00 on a Friday afternoon, and we had the place to ourselves. We had 3 lanes reserved for the 20+ of us, and they worked great(no freezing, no issues). I was pleasantly surprised to discover the shoes weren’t gross. Our package included pizza(which was good) and wings(which were standard), and we ordered some really reasonably priced pitchers of beer. We had a blast. I’d definitely go back.

It had been a very long time since I had been bowling but Colonial lanes definitely took me back to my high school and college days of throwing some balls around with my buddies on the regular. It definitely has the look of most alleys I’ve been to so it felt comfortable and familiar. It was a Saturday night when I visited with Robyn T and Drew T and they were pretty packed. We had to wait about 15 – 20 minutes for a lane but they are nestled next to Cubs AC so it was easy to get a bite or a drink while you wait for something to open up. For 3 people for an hour it was $ 33. I hate to admit it but it’s been so long since I’ve been bowling that I don’t know if it’s a good deal or not! I know I wasn’t surprised at the price and would definitely go back at that rate. Glow/cosmic bowling started at 10 but I had to cut out early so I missed all the ravelike fun. The lanes and spaces are clean, didn’t have any problems with our lane freezing or needing to be reset, the computers are easy to use and my shoes didn’t skeeve me out. I’ll definitely be back!

One word for Cubs AC: 90’s. Remember when you were 16, couldn’t drink, so you bowled? This place reminds of the restaurants I used to frequent as a high schooler. They play all 90s jams like BSB, Smash mouth, and Destiny’s Child. Yeahhh. The décor hallmarks this place as a local bar– wood panel walls & bright blue neon signs. Servers are all really attentive and friendly. Come here for the FOOD. The burgers are juicy and cooked to perfection. Favorite is the«Badger Burger” — it’s bacon, bbq, cheddar with a fried egg. YUM! Pay a buck extra and get the onion rings. It’s sooo worth it! Wings are plump and flavorful. Haven’t had their salads yet, but cmon, I’m at a bar. I’m getting bar food. It looks a dive from the exterior, but trust me, I’ve eaten at CUBSAC about 8 or 9 times and every time, the food AMAZES me! So when you’re tired of the downtown scene and itching to get off Main St, try AC Cubs. Grab a burger, hit the lanes or play old school arcade games!
