We have been ordering food from Positano’s since they opened and also from the other locations when in the neighborhood. The food, specifically the pizza, is always the same level of quality. When you order a cheese pizza, you know what you will get. The same goes for their spaghetti and meatballs which is standard stuff. However items which require a bit more attention like chicken and steak can be a hit or miss. I have had recently a filet mignon which was so over cooked that it could have been mistaken for shoe leather. I specifically asked for rare to medium rare and I guess along the chain of command the order got lost or maybe the cook in the back got busy and forgot the rule of thumb when cooking steak. When you cook steak on an open flame, 2 – 4 inches above the flame, cook the steak each side for 1 minute(rare), 2 minutes(med rare), 3 minutes for(medium), 4 minutes for well-done. And that is EACHSIDE. However if you are on an electric grill, the heat should be medium when cooking. Beyond 4 minutes it is shoe leather. For cooking a chicken breast cook until 165 internally, but if you are making chicken parm, it would need to be a little undercooked then thrown in to bake with the cheese to melt. Tonight the order was good but not perfect. The other problem with our recent order was the pasta fagioli(bean soup). When I get soup from a restaurant it should be, well, «soupy», wet, liquidy(not really a word but you get the point). When we opened our soup it had the consistency of baked beans(but worse). There was ZERO liquid in it, ZERO pasta. It was as if the cook used a slotted spoon to serve the soup. We ended up adding chicken broth to it in order to eat it. It was tasty but I would expect that some one in the kitchen would know the difference. Overall there is nothing wrong with the flavors at Positanos. As I mentioned we have eaten hear many times and never really had much issue with the service or the food. The staff is usually friendly and there have been some extremely perfect servers and hostesses at this location. We’ve even used their party room for holding small gatherings. Tonight they receive my wrath. I was unhappy with the quality of the food.

Their cheese pizza is sooo good! The best New York style pizza I’ve had since I’ve been in Orlando! Service was really great too!

Have never been to this location before but upon entering I thought the place was great, the décor was on point and I loved the plethora of televisions that were on ESPN which I approve lol! Was going to order pasta but I saw they had New York style pizza and their oven that is visible in the dinning area. Therefore pizza it was! Im gonna have to go ahead and say its the best place to get pizza in APK with Anthonys being a close second. I recommend this place to all try it out you won’t be disappointed our server was great she was very prompt and made sure we had an awesome experience!

This long time favorite is slipping. 5 of us had dinner tonight. Just about everything went wrong. Orders were mixed up. Food came out in spurts. Worst of all was the hostile attitude of the server. A manager dropped by our table and told us the angry waiter was working his last shift. Pasta fagioli was bland. Eggplant Parmesan was cold when served and tasteless. It’s hard to believe a family owned operation can lose its way so quickly.

One of the best pizza and pasta joints in Orlando! Try to calzones and garlic knots. Their salmon ravioli is amazing as is the gnocchi. Good atmosphere that can be a little loud on the weekends.

Came here cause haven’t had good Italian in awhile. my man LOVES lasagna. so that’s what he got. AWFUL! so then the manager kindly took it off and gave him penne with meat sauce(ziti) AWFULAGAIN! I got a calzone with ham, spinach, basil, and garlic. it only came with spinach and garlic on it. but it was still good just not with everything I wanted on it. Not to say that the manager didn’t take care of it… because he did. he took anything off the bill we didn’t get or like. and gave us 50% off the bill. but we won’t be coming back. it’s not all about service when you go somewhere for the food. thank you for great service but you need to take two more looks at what’s coming out of your kitchen!

Not a bad place to grab a bite to eat. Their pizzas are pretty good, calzones come out just right, and the hostesses are nice. The prices are a little higher than I would expect for the quality of food; chicken parmesan is average at best, but the price leads you to think it will be amazing. We don’t usually dine in, it’s usually a pizza to go, but the last time we dined in the service was real slow and not attentive at all. I finished my beer and was not even offered a new one or even noticed that it was empty. Let’s face it, alcohol is margin rich; let’s focus on keeping it flowing!

I wouldn’t call this place a favorite but I also wouldn’t say it is bad by any means. My most recent trip here was just to the bar for a few glasses of wine and an app with a friend. The bartender was on his game and the small bite was great. The atmosphere was a little strange but I’m not sure I expected anything different for location. I’m sure I’ll be back, it’s only a matter of time!

We hosted my sisters baby shower here. This is one of her favorite Italian Restaurants around the area. We were allowed to come in an hr prior to set up our décor on the tables etc. The area was very spacious and everything was set up properly even had linens. Jesse I think was his name, was the sever for our party and he did an excellent job. He made it a really pleasant experience. We did not feel rushed or timed. He was very attentive and helpful. The food was good and the price was was way less than what we expected it. Overall everything was just great! We were happy customers and I would recommend this place. Thank you again!

We have enjoyed this restaurant for over twenty years and still have never been disappointed! Once again a great experience on a busy Friday night. The pizzas and pastas are always delicious and the service last night for our table of five could not have been better! Cheers Positano!

I called to make a reservation and was put on hold by a lady for 5 minutes. A man picked up the phone and took my reservation for 2 people. About 10 minutes later I called back, was on hold again by the lady for another 5 minutes and a man picked up and I told him my reservation was now 5 people. When I get to the restaurant the hostess said they didn’t have my reservation for 5 and that because they are so busy reservations normally are not taken. I normally at this point get a bit upset since my reservation was taken over the phone, however the hostess was very pleasant and told us that she will take care of it. A manager or owner(not sure which one) apologized for the inconvenience and sat us right away. I have never had any issues here other than that stated above. The food is amazing and every server that I have had was wonderful. This is definitely my go to for Italian food near me.

I think we accidentally stepped into an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. After an attempt to rip us off, we left after 15 minutes. Oh, and the Pasta e Fagioli was just beans, canned bean water, and more water. Maybe three pieces of pasta.(I make this at home from an old Italian family recipe from Napoli — it’s not complex.) My fiancé and I went here to meet up on his lunch break. I ordered Pasta e Fagioli and a Caesar salad — the large, as the waitress made it seem like these would be medium sized(they were massive, but I ordered the large so I ignored it). My fiancé ordered a calzone with a Greek SIDE salad. The waitress took the orders and five minutes later my soup/salad(wrong soup came out, again not a huge deal as it was instantly replaced) and his salad arrive. His was ginormous and almost took up his entire half of the mini table. We asked if this was a mistake, as he doesn’t need two entrees, and specifically ordered a Greek SIDE salad. The waitress starts arguing in a strangely playful way that it is not on the menu as a side(only house and Caesar salads are) and we should have known better. Why this wasn’t clarified upon ordering, we asked? «I can’t assume if people eat small or big meals!» Only the tip of this insane iceberg. He – having not touched it – wanted to send it back for a smaller one. She says it’s too late and goes to ask the manager for a discount. Manager«can’t be found.» She starts condescendingly saying that we cannot read the menu and asks if they should make it clearer to read. At this point, he asks her to just not bring out the calzone since the salad is plenty. «Oh, unfortunately we already started making it!» All we wanted was to speak to the manager since she was hovering over our table arguing with us instead of MAYBE letting us enjoy our lunch together. My fiancé stated that this was our first time and we would not be returning due to the experience. She continued to argue why she was right and we were wrong. We gave simple hints such as, «Okay, that’s fine. Okay. Great. We just want to talk to the manager,» to indicate we wished to be left alone. She still hangs over us telling us how wrong we are. Finally, she turns to me and says, «You understand what I am saying, yes?» which was extremely uncomfortable and made it seem like she was trying to use the fact that we are both female as some weird last resort for resolution, while simultaneously undermining everything he was saying. I was so dumbfounded by the whole experience, I couldn’t utter a word. My fiancé finally has to say, «I think it’s best you leave our table.» After five more minutes of waiting for the manager while our waitress talked to the bus boys up front, my fiancé goes up to the front to ask for the manager. As soon as that happened, our waitress went up to both of them instead of being a normal person and waiting for the manager to hear both sides equally. We left after a minute of the manager telling him tough luck. Apart from the lack of quality in the food given to us, the blonde waitress was absolutely rude, and we cannot believe the manager did not at least apologize for the mixup.

Caffe positano is a great place for parties and events. They have a huge back room for parties as big as 30! Wow! The food is also great. I got the Baked Penne and it was TODIEFOR! But, seriously, loved it! But, the only reason I have to give it 4 stars is because the food took awhile to come out, even though there were 23 people, service should still be on point am I right?

This is a review of the bad mouth bartender Dominic. I will not sit near the bar when he works. Bring back Tiffani or Taylor. They are the best. The food is good, but with the addition of of this bartender, the bar will shut down.

Excellent food, have been coming here for years and it’s by far the best Italian I have ever had. My favorite is the baked fettuccine Roberto, my mother’s fave is the eggplant rolotini. Calamari is dried perfectly and the house dressing is the best«I have bought some to take home» it’s that good. All and all I have never had a bad experience there the staff is friendly and fast. Will always continue to go back for years to come!!!

They also have a wall with very good replics of famous paints & painters. They were painted by Pasquale who stop by our table nice guy. Great dinning.

Been there before but I will not return after this visit. Food ok, service is fair but everything else was terrible. Not offered anything after I ordered my pasta, no salad, no bread, nothing the server just walked off. Two beers and some good pasta cost me $ 18 and I was the only one there 3pm what a rip off. will not return. l

Best NY Italian food around. We just had my birthday celebration there and, as usual, everyone raved about the food and service. If you’re from NY(like me) and want to get the NY Italian food you’ve been missing, this is the place to go. Great pizza and great Italian dishes.
