The inside of the restaurant gave a warm welcoming feeling as well as the sweet lady that works the front. I ordered Mapu tofu with rice to-go, and the portions so big that I was able to save the rest for the next meal. They’re decently priced and a perfect place for college students to eat lunch at. Definitely returning here again!

Love the place. The lady by the counter is humble and I always get what I ordered. I’ve even tried something that is not on the menu and its came out good as well.

I ordered from Grubhub. It was pretty good. Good: –The woman confirmed my order on the phone with me after I ordered on the app(I was pretty specific with each part of my order on the app). I totally appreciated that. –The order came super early. –The delivery guy was really nice. –They had some of my favourites like form when I was a kid(Ketchup omelet over fried rice…) –The portions are big(I guess that could be bad in some cases) –Everything was packaged so well. Not so good: –Everything was a hair salty. –I ordered ma pao tofu and most places would have sent the rice separate and sent the tofu and sauce in another container… they put the tofu and and the sauce over the rice so the rice was a bit mushy and the tofu was lacking some of the sauce because it was absorbed by the rice. –Ok the bottled water was Costco water… Kirkland(this bugs me because if you charge a dollar a bottle it should at least be a brand name… I’ll even take Aquafina(the bottom of the barrel of brand name water). –I’m a little shocked that this place charges a delivery charge… when you order from Grubhub in NYC almost everywhere delivers for free… maybe it’s just different here in Texas. I’d order from here again next time I’m in the area.

I was there with my friends two days ago. The taste was pretty good and the price is fair. Unfortunately, I am really disappointed with the waiting time. Took them 30+ mins to prepare our food when there is one table with 2 customers ahead of us.

Waited one and half for two meals. I placed my order online, Grubhub, then I called to confirm my order with the lady at restaurant. She read my order through the phone and confirmed it. 35 mins later, I got the WRONGFOOD because driver gave me someone else food, then he said he will be back. 1 hour and 20 mins later, my friend called and asked for our food, the lady on the phone(again) said«You need to wait. It’s not our fault!» What? She doesn’t know how to say sorry, I guess. ohh, I live 1 mile away from this place.

Bland, banal, pretty terrible. Go elsewhere. Oh, Unilocal wants me to add more details. Okay. The only reason I ordered is because I left my cellphone at a friend’s house and I was able to place this order over Grubhub on the internet. I will never order from Bamboo Café again, because I’m giving most of this food(curry chicken and szuechuan beef) to the dog. That’s how much I don’t like it. See? I was going to be pithy, but Unilocal insisted, so I complied.

The bamboo café had our shrimp fried rice and crab rangoon cooked to perfection. We will definitely eat there again. The egg rolls were also prepared wonderfully. thanks

The food was fine(though a little heavy on sauce), but the hostess seemed a little rude and I found it a little pricey for the portions and the ambience it has. Also, tea is not included. Will look for other places for Asian food.

I feel like with all of their foods, you can’t go wrong on any of them. I’ve been picking blindly hoping for the best, and that’s what I got– the best :) The portions they give are hefty and I roll out with a troll keg belly(because I didn’t actually drink alcohol to get this pudge). So far, I’ve tried the mapo tofu with fried rice, sweet and sour pork ribs on rice, combination flat noodles, and hok lo juicy fried noodle. If someone were to ask me what’s the one food I could solely eat for the rest of my life, my answer would be tofu. I have known and loved tofu all my life in its various forms. Know it so well that it could be my significant other or my child, just saying. And this mapo tofu, y’all. Mmm. Much soft. Such moisty. Very jiggle. Wow. In all seriousness, the tofu is so pudding-like, you don’t even need to bite it(although you should; always chew your food properly. Cue the yes, Mom) And it’s smothered in a liquid hoison-ish sauce placed on top of a mound of brown fried rice. Yesssss. With the sweet and sour ribs, it is super delicious as well. The sauce is like a different version of duck sauce, but similar in ways. I wouldn’t recommend this choice for older aged customers, as some of the ribs are chewy and tough to get through, but it is tasty so I would order it again one day while I’m still young. Combo flat noodles are your standard safe bet order, easy to eat, good way of getting your veggies in your diet and the hok lo noodles taste like pad thai so that’s a win right there; it’s got that authentic greasy taste to it, but not in the bad way. They have a huge bowl of egg drop soup for $ 2.50! Best egg drop soup I’ve had at a great price. And my mom enjoyed the dumpling soup as well. Giving Bamboo Café 4 stars because of the beverages. They’re a hit or miss, to be honest. I tried the milk tea and it’s not to my liking. I believe the strawberry smoothie was fantastic and milky from what I remember, although I’ve had better. If you decide to get water, they have a medium sized water dispenser to the left of the cash register with foam cups. It’s at room temperature, though. I love my water ice cold but oh well. No soda fountain to get ice from. Service is excellent. The older lady owner is my favorite. She is extremely polite. You can tell by the way she hands you your change back with both hands. People who do this are rare and I appreciate them a ton. Wonderful manners. She also personally brought me my water, although she didn’t have to because I had to get it myself the first time I came here so I’ve always thought it was self serve, but thank you so so much! And when she cleared our plates, I just wanted to carry them back for her because she walks at a slower pace than one normally would and I see her as my grandma so I don’t want her to do anything at all for me, really. Lol. I’ll insist to help her next time. The rest of the staff are friendly and kind but I love her the most :) Great restaurant here and completely affordable for the college students nearby. Just take caution if you come here at night because the parking lot looks sketchy when the sun goes down, although I’m sure it’s fine. It’s just empty and dark, so park close to the restaurant door if you can.

I’m not one to give 5 stars that often, but this place has everything. It’s easy on the wallet, large portions, great service, and fresh made when you order it authentic Chinese food! They accommodate for small and large groups. They also have a catering menu so if you are looking for catering they do that also at the restaurant or they come to you! They also just started their delivery service so make sure to check out this nice and cozy spot for lunch or dinner the next time you are hungry!

So good. Especially the fried tofu and the spicy wonton. Must order! The size is big whereas the price is low. The chief cooks very local Asian food(not the Americanize-Asian food) Must try it!

I’ve so far tried the Veggie Ma-po tofu, veggie hot pot(with transparent noodles and tofu) and kung pao with rice at this restaurant. The veggie hot pot with transparent noodles was very tasty. I don’t think it comes with tofu but the lady was kind enough to accommodate my request. The portion size was huge as usual. Try it out!

Really enjoyed their food and service. It’s maybe a dollar or two more than I’m used to for Asian food, but it’s worth it. I got their mapo tofu, and it was in a good proportion(kept me full), and it was tasty! I also got their mango smoothie, and it was pretty good. If I’m craving some authentic Chinese food and in the area, I would definitely pay a visit. The elderly lady who works there is also super sweet, which went from me giving them an original 4 stars to 5. She is really the most adorable thing ever.

You know a place is good when you were not planning on leaving a review but by the time you are done with your meal you are compelled to do so. I ordered the sesame chicken and they include onions in their sauce which turned out to be quite a pleasant taste. Bottom line — come check this place out for good Chinese food! Update — all my coworkers did not like this place so i will check it out again and update my review.

I rarely go to Arlington anymore, so I hate discovering places there that I actually like. My UTA days are quite over, but why oh why was Bamboo Café nonexistent during my years of toting massive calculus books around? This is one serious Chinese café. We walked in and instantly saw a menu in all Chinese written on the back wall and a few Chinese newspapers laid out beside the entrance. I approached, with much discretion, towards the ordering counter and soon was quite relieved when I saw English words on the small menus up front. I decided not to go all out and order some hardcore pig’s leg. Instead, I ordered a pot of salty fish, chicken and eggplant which was sizzling the moment it was delivered to me. I was so happy when it came out bubbling and steaming! I think the sweet lady behind the counter that took our order cooked it herself and brought it to our table. It had the right amount of saltiness and came with steamed rice to help offset the strong flavors. We also ordered some beef over crispy noodles and a beef noodle soup. Both had very soft pieces of beef with slivers of fat on it. All dishes were family style, even the soup! I did like everything because it seemed like the ingredients were more substantial than the typical mass produced, packed and frozen ones from a giant factory. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese food and not some orange chicken kind of mess, the lady here will hook you up. I would not specifically go here for boba tea though because their tapioca is a bit mushy. If only I lived closer! Ugh, maybe this is a sign telling me to go back for grad school? NAH!

Best Hoi Nam Gai Fan(ginger onion steam chicken) in Dallas. Authentic, savory, sultry and enticing. The onion pancake, and stir fry fat noodle with steak are just so good. I’m home! Thank you. My kids finished all their food. So happy
