This place has been officially closed for a while. I heard that the owner didn’t pay taxes on the place.

Do not eat here! 45 min to get hamburger and nachos. Then given plastic fork because they were washing others. No tea refill they were brewing tea. Ultimate nachos on menu said with brisket or chicken then they tried to charge me $ 3 more for chicken. Ultimate nachos were $ 8.95 and basically consisted of queso with sour cream, a tiny bit of pico de gallo, jalapeños and a few tiny pieces of grilled chicken. Terrible service and food.

The mailer ad had great menu items. When we got there we were handed a computer printout that had none of the items. Go some where else. The draft beer was off taste too.

Terrible food. Beer wasn’t very good. Horrible service from bartenders even though there were only 4 other people sitting at the bar. Spend your $ elsewhere because it won’t be well spent here…

Home of the world’s most terrible wait staff. Party of six came. I asked for a table that was clearly open. The waitress looks at me and tells me the staff is so busy there will not be anyone to bus the table for us. luckily, she was sweet at cleared the drinks off and ushered us to the unclean and watered table. And then then the rest of the night No one stops by to Check on us or ask us for our orders. Wow what customer service. Too bad you missed out on My good tips.

I ate here for lunch to avoid first day of school rush and wound up wishing I had just braved the crowds. I ordered a plain bacon burger, which I thought was pretty safe bet right? Wrong! When I wasn’t tasting the super greasy Texas toast bun I had a mouthful of unidentifiable herby tastes. I like my meat seasoned but the burger was so over seasoned the only way I knew I was eating meat was by the feel of it. Of which apparently some was plastic. I posted a pic of my half eaten burger with the plastic wrap I found smashed into the cheese. The only upside was the $ 2 rum and pineapple.

This is the last place you will receive good customer service and good food. Friends decided to come here for a few drinks and a little food. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. I thought this place would be more active, being in a college environment and right underneath campus apartments, but it was the opposite. Friends and I got here at 8pm. The place was empty, only 3 other guys here, and 1 of them was an employee. I think the other two were friends that were visiting him at work. Major red flag. A few of my friends ordered food, but I didn’t. I believe made a good choice because the food presentation was extremely sloppy and nobody at my table finished what they had ordered. It honestly looked like cheap food that they most likely microwaved in the back. To follow up on this, the service here was terrible. Came in and the waitress told us that the place closed at 10pm(supposed to be 2am). We all ordered a variety of drinks and one person ordered a well: sprite with vodka. When he got it, he was questioning if there was even alcohol in it. No buzz from the fish bowls either. I felt that they don’t give an adequate amount for the prices that they charge. What disappointed me the most was when I asked the waitress what kind of wells they featured. She answered, «umm, everything?» Woman, what kind of sports grill do you work at if you present me with an answer like that? No suggestions, no popular flavors, no showing me anything on the menu. She was seriously the laziest waitress ever. I was so annoyed that I just ordered a Dos Equis with lime. I told her I wanted it in the bottle because I don’t like people tampering with my drinks. She came back 10 minutes later and told me that they don’t give them in bottles, and that she could pour me a glass. From the length of time that it took me to just bring out a beer that they didn’t even have, it was so obvious that 1) she wasn’t doing her job because the restaurant was empty except for one other table that already had their food and drinks, and 2) the restaurant goes the cheap route and has canned beers that need to be poured out into glasses. What kind of sports bar doesn’t have bottles of Dos Equis? Apparently, Blaze. In addition to this, we had to wave the waitress down for anything that we needed. Food took way too long to come out of the kitchen, and I should never have to wait more than 5 minutes for a beer that should be available in a bottle. I even had to flag the waitress down just to get my check and pay. I will never come back here. It’s amazing how Blaze is still opened.

I had to downgrade my rating based on my last experience. Three of us went in on a Thursday evening and it was fairly empty. I’m sure that was because UTA is on summer break. It was nice to be able to pick any table we wanted. This has me very curious as to why our food order took so long. That includes a mozzarella sticks appetizer which should be ready super fast. The food wasn’t as good as I had remembered. The two others didn’t like their food. I had a burger and it was pretty good. But you could definitely find better nearby. They did add some craft beers. However, they aren’t on the menu, so I had to specifically asks. On top of that, our waitress had to go ask what was available. She returned to rattle off a list of breweries, not beers. Her second attempt was much better but she came back to let me know they didn’t actually have the one I picked. If you’re a light beer drinker I’m sure this will be no problem for you. The one thing they do have going is that they have plenty of big screens all over. There isn’t really a bad spot in the house in that regard. I did find it odd that we sat in front of 3 screens playing: the Rangers game, NFL Network, and The New Girl. Yep, a sitcom at a bar with no volume.

It took my party of two half an hour of waiting on our food before we gave up and left. They weren’t busy; none of their employees wanted to work. I highly recommend Twisted Root. Better food, faster and much friendlier people. Oh, and our waitress complained that we wasted her time. I guess now she can go back to chatting.

Arlington’s new College Park area isn’t so new anymore and most of it has gone out of business. While Blaze’s is still here, it’s not exactly making strides. I feel like the inside was made to look like it used to be old and clean, but is now a worn down version of itself. I get it, but most of those places survive based on a quality they have other than being a worn down version of something cool. Or maybe they just hang by a thread based off the reputation they had before. Either way, Blaze’s is too brand new to look this rough and have a long-standing reputation. They patio is awesome. If I thought a server would come out there, I’m sure it would be even better. The food looks great, but it looks a little over-priced and I’ve never seen anyone there eating. I admit that I’ve only been here a few times a year, but I’ve never seen food at anyone’s table. I’ve only been when I’m on campus for one reason or another and Blaze’s is the shortest walk. Beer selection has slowly improved over the last couple years. Went from lousy to good, but erratic. It’s weird to see a bottle of Delirium Tremens sitting next to a bottle of Bud Light Lime and have very few things between those two price points. There are, though. The selection is making its way. The weirdest thing about the beer selection is the second bar. You have to walk past it to get into the bar, it has all the good beer taps, and it’s always closed. The bartenders aren’t able to get you a beer from that bar, but it’s there teasing me. Other than the obvious nights where the entire block is packed, I’ve never seen this place with a crowd. It’s always mostly empty. The staff is disinterested at best. I think most of the patrons are there because they have a friend bartending. It’s obvious which ones the friends are — they are the only ones getting service. Or maybe they’re employees that are off work. Either way, the staff isn’t really concerned that you’re here, that your glass is empty, that you’d like another, or that you’d like to tab out. Kind of a shame. I wish College Park wasn’t floundering. Maybe Blaze’s will make the business match their neat venue.

Bar food, huge tvs, great sounds system, great service and college and business crowd(young and hip). I couldn’t be happier. This area brings in the business of local areas such as banks, boutiques and education which is good for me to network as a real estate agent. I appreciate the service here bc they are attentive but not over bearing. A lot of events are coming up such as the World Cup and graduations so I know I am going to be here more often in the next couple of weeks. Still Love my local bar…

This place is ok. They serve crazy strong fish bowls(you can’t taste the alcohol but you’ll definitely be able to feel the after effects the next day!). The food leaves me wanting something better. I do love their freshly made chips and their BLT hits the spot. I would skip the lobster roll and apple slaw because honestly, it just wasn’t that good. Seating is ample so you if you have a large group, it’s great. I love their spacious booths. Come here for drinks and chips– skip the lobster roll.

Don’t waste your time! We thought this might be a nice place to stop and wait for traffic to filter out of the event parking garage… part of me wishes I was in traffic. This place is a «shit show»…the hostess greeted the 20 or so people who had the same idea as us and then promptly ran out the front door to say«hi/bye» to a friend without seating anyone. So after the overly confused wait staff sat us… and then asked us to move tables… and then taking orders of the table that sat down at the table we were moved from… we find ourselves wondering if it wasn’t for the captive on-campus audience… would this place still be open. Nope! #thisplaceneedstogoupinaBLAZE

i wanted to like this place. i really did. first coming in you get id’d right away and hes nice about it. next you get a little wrist thing. thats tacky. and hello, can she take some effort and put it on straight, i have major ocd. lol. we go inside and we notice 3 servers sitting at the bar texting and having a beer, okay cool maybe theyre just hanging out after work no big. we get a booth by the bar and after awhile we’re like. WTF can i get some service. i dont like places that make you figure out how to order. ESP if ive never been before. i also dont like places where the bar tenders drink with you, esp when they stop working and come take pictures with you. thats odd. and creepy please dont do this. the only thing good about this place is that they dont care if you puke everywhere. NOT. wow make those people leave. thats just gross. and clean it up. –__– this is a nice place i just dont think it’ll last long. i rarely give 2 stars. so idk im usually a nice grader! we had asked about the server. and they informed us that they dont have to wait on us if food service has stopped. so im left thinking… wtf go home then.

I’m always happy to write up positive experiences, and a little more hesitant on negative ones… everyone has«off» nights, and I really always try to give staff and business owners the benefit of the doubt. That said, my visit to Blaze’s was pretty much in line with everyone else’s: not all that great. Nothing horrible happened, but I can’t see myself wanting to come back. Point-by-point: — Our food and drink menus were apparently outdated, which led to a quick round of Twenty Questions with the wait staff on availability and prices. — My server was sweet, but she wasn’t able to offer any recommendations for beer. I ordered a Rahr Ugly Pug and waited almost ten minutes for it. — Shiner somehow counts as an «Import» here. We’re in Texas! — The environment was alright. I was greeted warmly at the door, and it wasn’t super loud or anything. The staff walking around seemed pretty amenable to answering questions. There were a lot of staff walking around. One guy walked past our table seemingly every two to four minutes, picking up glasses and plates. I’m not a huge sports bar guy, but I get the sense that other places pick one thing and run with it — they’ll either have those enormous hamburgers or a four-page beer list or a really warm and inviting atmosphere or four different drink specials running every night. That sort of thing. I guess Blaze’s is trying to do a little bit of everything, and the result is that nothing stands out.

I think that Blaze’s just needs a little time, and soon it’ll be a rockin’ bar with all the bells and whistles. They’ve already got a lot going for them; a great location next to the new College Park Center at UTA(built in customers all year long); a darling and spacious patio with fire pits, tables, couches, and cushioned chairs; a decent sized space for a live band to play outside; an outdoor bar; a kitchen that is run buy an award winning chef; and an extensive menu that seems to offer everything from typical, fried bar-food, to lobster mac ‘n’ cheese cakes, to gourmet burgers, to cheese boards! YUM. Then, of course, there’s a pretty great beer selection(no cider though), and a few nice wines. I’m a bit nervous about Blaze’s ambitious food menu, it’s a lot to keep up with. But more than that, I’m worried about the slow and disengaged service I received last time I visited. I was up at UTA for my little brother’s graduation(YAY), and the patio at Blaze’s was packed. There was a jazz band playing live(they sounded great), and a good amount of people walking in and out. You’d think Blaze’s would be on top of it on a day like this; there were thousands of folks in attendance for graduation, looking for a place to relax before or afterwards. My sister, friend, and I found a seat inside at the bar and ordered. First thing we heard was a disgruntled, mumbled message about the kitchen being behind, so don’t order food. Or something. That’s fine to be busy, but just be more positive about it! We decided on two beers and one glass of pinot grigio. I received my wine soon enough(I watched the bartender give me the last of a bottle out of the fridge; it was pretty stale), and then we watched him fill up two beer glasses. Then we watched him walk away and never come back. The bartender literally disappeared, and our two beers sat ten feet away from us on the counter. Just sitting there. After a few minutes, my friend simply stood up and retrieved them. Finally the bartender returned, didn’t say a word, and we paid our bill and left. Haha, it was very odd. So our bartender wasn’t super friendly and definitely wasn’t interested in us, which kinda created a negative tone in general. But besides that, this one time occasion, I really think Blaze’s has a ton of potential to be a great spot you’d return to again and again. I’ll give it another shot, for sure.

I’ve now given Blaze’s enough time to work out their kinks, and we’ve eaten(or tried to eat) here 3 more times… ehy, it is close to my office on campus. Here’s the lowdown: 1. Food: It IS good but unpredictable. Sometimes the chicken strips are perfectly golden and yummy, or sometimes they are burnt to a crisp with no notice or regard from the staff. Same with other menu items. A friend tried the Grown up Bologna and it had a good taste(per her) but the meat was charred. Still no iced tea… what’s up with that? 2. Service: Lousy seems to not quite convey the accurate portrayal of the situation here. I’ve been waiting, now for 10 minutes for my waitress to come back, remove my dishes, refill my beverage and bring me a check. She is too busy chatting with antoher table… oh look! she’s sitting down with them. THe bartenders are reading magazines. I’ve certainly disappointed in this downturn. It was the same last time we were here, too. Either there isn’t enough staff or they havent been properly tained.
