First time user and they got my order wrong. The get one more chance! Asked for a Vito with light Mayo and Dijon Mustard and the spicy spread. It also looks like they are a little lite on the meet, nothing like the ones I get in Maryland. I got a Sub with Jalapenos and lots of mayo.

Follow-up: the owner of this location reached out to me about our experience. I was very impressed with how quickly they wanted to address this. I also received a phone call from corporate. They had apparently received a large delivery order that had used up the bread I saw on the counter. I would have completely understood had I been told that at the time. Without knowing that piece of information, coupled with the team member’s sour mood, we were left with the impression they didn’t want to serve us. Long story short– I’ll give it another shot. Only 3 stars because I haven’t yet been back. I will say that delivery has always been awesome!

Basic sandwich place. I give my order to the counter guy; «Big John(or whatever its called) with salt and pepper» Answer: «we don’t have salt and pepper» …channeling John McEnroe I think… you can’t be serious… nope, dead serious. They were able to find salt in packets but its a pepper-free zone. That interaction says it all.

Free Parking. Fast service. Like Taylor Gourmet selection(hot hoagies) but end up eating here much more often due to free easy parking. Plus #5 the Vito with double meat and hot peppers is great. As good as any cold Taylor Gourmet sandwich.

I was really mad at this delivery issue– but they are Delish. Best bread — gotta get the Vito with hot peps.

Always fast, always delicious. I’ve tried other sub shops in the area, but for the quality, price, and speed you can’t go wrong with Jimmy John’s. I’m really happy to see the company expanding all over the DMV. The guys in this particular location go above and beyond to provide great customer service.

Jimmy Johns in theory is always 5 stars. I’m from the Midwest and its the best. I’m just confused as to why its so hard to train Jimmy Johns employees outside of the Midwest. At the end of the line the sandwich makers get beyond confused when you order more than one sandwich which negates any chance of freaky fast service. Then they feel the need to yell out the sandwich order even when you are the only one and you are standing right there. Social cues? But the worst… when I order hot peppers and pay for hot peppers I expect to actually have hot peppers on my sandwich. #sadface

Had lunch there today with two friends and yes they were freaky fast. Sandwiches were ordered and no sooner had we ordered and they were done and giving them to us. We even forgot to add extra cheese and bacon to a sandwich and they gave it to us after we had already paid. They were polite and fast with service as far as the employees went. All in all a nice dining experience for a quick lunch. They are a solid 4 star place to go.

Great subs, awesome service AND I left my entire purse there yesterday and the manager on duty called me(my biz cards were inside) and promptly returned it to me — so they’re also a trustworthy group. I’m highly appreciative.

I’ve eaten here probably around 5 – 6 times over the year and the place keeps going downhill. Ate here for an early dinner this week, came in around 4:30pm. The cashier taking my order didn’t say one word to me, he just stared at me while I was about to give him my order. Apparently his earphones and ipod that he was listening to was way more important than me. I gave him my order, he gave me my receipt and walked away… still no thanks or even one word to me. That Is pathetic. Got my sub and and it was one of those club sandwiches for $ 6.50. I asked them to hold the mayo and put on dijon mustard instead. They did. However, there was barely any dijon mustard on my entire sub. Come on man. Don’t be stingy with the sauces. I ate my sub and killed my unflavorful bag of chips and went to go refill my ice tea and low and behold there was one of the employees sleeping on the table right near the soda machine. This dude was knocked out cold. Thats pretty appalling and so many disgusting things come to mind when an employee is sleeping, and possibly drooling, on a table. It looked like a shift change as there were 2 – 3 guys coming in and hovering around this guy sleeping with his head on the table. None of them said anything to the guy, they just let him be. I walked away shaking my head. Thats pretty embarrassing. The management in this store needs a values and restaurant check. The customer service in this store has become, PATHETIC, LAUGHABLE, DISGRACEFUL, A JOKE, ALLOFTHEABOVE. Stay away from this place, their employees have no idea about customer service and just don’t care. They are there to collect a paycheck and do as little as work as possible.

I ordered the veggie submarine. I was greatly disappointed with this«un“glorified cheese sandwich. It was basically a bunch of mild provolone, a few tomato slices, shredded lettuce and two small smudges of avocado ‘spread’. There was so little of the avocado spread I thought they had forgotten to put it on the sub so I took it to the counter and was informed that the spread was between the cheese layers. I took two bites of this sandwich and threw the rest away. I decided there was no point in filling my stomach with unsatisfying food. My boyfriend ordered the Hunter’s Club sandwich, which he assumed would come on the sandwich bread since it was on the sandwich menu. It came on a sub roll. There is a choice between the two breads listed on the menu but he thought the default bread on the sandwich menu would be sandwich bread. The guy who took our order never asked which he preferred and apparently the default bread is a sub roll, even when you order a sandwich. I did notice that not one person working there ever cracked a smile or otherwise gave the impression that they were customer friendly. I think having a good attitude when preparing food results in better food. Case in point, I have been to the Tyson’s Jimmy John’s many times and always enjoyed the veggie sub there. The staff members at the Tyson’s location are always cheerful, friendly and energetic. The staff members in the Ballston location are the complete opposite; dour, aloof and apathetic. I gave them one star just for existing and another star for the crushed ice their soda machine has(although all Jimmy John’s have the same ice). Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

Subway-lite. Nothing special about this place at all. With all the better options in Ballston, avoid this.

Sandwiches are what you’d expect from any Jimmy Johns, pretty good and fairly priced. Delivery is fast. 2 stars instead of 3 because«special» requests seem to be more than this location can handle. The first time I ordered delivery, I asked for 3 packets of mayo and got none. The second time, I told the person on the phone that last time I had not gotten any despite asking, and could I please get 4. Inside the bag… 2 packets. It’s worth adding that these were otherwise very simple 1 and 2 sandwich orders, both around 3pm on weekdays when I assume it is relatively slow. Seems like the people there either just don’t care or can’t communicate with each other well.

Terrible service! Placed an order, called 30min later to get the status and was told it on it’s way. Called 30min later(1hour since ordered) was told he thinks it’s out for delivery. Spoke with manager and was told the delivery guy has 4 deliveries and I should have my food any minute. 1hr 15mins and I still haven’t received my food.

As any lovely lady might tell you, being freaky fast is not always a good thing. Yes, JJ’s delivery was very quick(which is not so surprising given their sandwiches don’t require much cooking). But the shop didn’t get the toppings I had requested(over the phone I had to actually repeat myself twice). No hot peppers, no sprouts, no kidding. JJ’s sandwiches are actually better once you toast them in your oven. Not a bad alternative overall when you’re too lazy to make yourself a sandwich with household staples.

I was taken aback by just how awful the sandwiches are. They are kind of like Subway, except that Jimmy John’s bread is tasteless, there are way fewer toppings, and you get less meat. I was advised by the guy taking my order not to get the gargantuan because it was too much meat. I got the Country Club instead — one slice of ham, and one of turkey. with a lot of shredded lettuce, some tomatoes and onion, and mayo. It’s not often that I feel like I can make something better at home.

Jimmy John’s might be the greatest sandwich franchise in the world. And the Quincy Street location may be the worst example of the model in existence. Dine here to enjoy subs so slow you’ll freak. Staff so careless you’ll wonder if they aren’t playing some elaborate prank on you. The sense of urgency instilled in the JJ values is conveniently substituted for a sense of apathy at this location. Whoever manages this place should not have the honor of wearing the black and red.

I wouldn’t survive school without Jimmy John’s. For school events, we always love to get their large platters, which feed about 15 to 25 people, depending on how hungry they are. This location is super helpful, always timely, and extremely friendly. It always amazes me. I always get the #5 Vito on french bread with mayo. It’s an italian sandwich with genoa salami, provolone, capicola, lettuce, tomato, and italian vinaigrette. It’s perfect and satisfying and all I need to get me through a long day of studying. I do need to try their delivery — but that would make me the ultimate lazy student since JJ is only about 8 blocks away from school. Oh forget it, I drive anyways.

Super Pollo was closed… It’s been a couple years since I’d last stepped foot in a Jimmy Johns. I was met with a cool breeze as I opened the door, offering a respite from the humidity. That day, the person running the music station had good taste. The service was fast. The booths were nice. The floor was clean. Food I still remember the bread. It’s soft and chewy but crunchy on the outside. I found the Turkey Tom refreshing. The shredded iceberg lettuce was stacked high in a sandwich that wouldn’t put you to sleep. The turkey broke apart easily, the mark of good quality, but a lot of the flavor came from the layer of mayo on the bottom. And they make a mean cookie. $ 5.5 for the sandwich which was just full enough food. $ 1.5 for the cookie, worth it. Wouldn’t mind coming back. Ambiance and Service 5 Food 4 Value 5
