Primp By Smitten

I cannot say enough good things about Primp by Smitten. Everyone who works here is courtesy, professional, and always extremely polite. I have been to almost every blow dry bar in Arlington and DC, and this is by far the best. Unlike other salons, it doesn’t matter what stylist you get, because they will all have your hair looking fabulous. Specifically:
Maisha: she is amazing at blowouts and giving you the look you want.
Pam: The makeup artist at Primp, Pam, is the hidden gem of Arlington and DC. I almost didn’t write about her because I don’t want everyone finding out how amazing she is :). But she deserves the recognition. She will have you looking like an absolute celebrity with your makeup. The price ($ 100) for a full face is pricier than most other places, but well worth it. If you have a special event, do not hesitate to book your appointment!

Awesome experience here. I called on a Friday morning for a same day appointment and they got me in that evening to see Pam. She is fantastic! Very friendly, personable, and does a damn good blowout. Several friends were asking about my hair later that night, and two days later it’s still going strong. Definitely recommend this salon, and Pam as a stylist in particular — I’ll be back for other special events!

I am not much of a Unilocaler, but I had to share my positive experience with Primp by Smitten. Having great hair for a special occasion makes anyone feel extra confident and the stylists here certainly deliver. I was looking for a blowout bar in the Arlington area and after stumbling across this place on Unilocal,I decided to give it a try. Maisha was my stylist and was wonderful. We had a great conversation and, most importantly, my hair looked incredible and held up for days. The prices for a blowout are only slightly higher than average and it’s well worth it. I have since returned and will continue to return to Primp by Smitten for blowouts in the future. Thank you!

This is the absolute best blow dry I have ever received. I usually go to the salon weekly and have been less than impressed with what I’ve received from other places. This place is reasonably priced, very friendly people and amazing work. Really amazing. Highly recommend.

I was in town for a event later that day, and I wanted to treat myself to a blowout. I searched reviews and decided to go to Primp after being terrified by other reviews at other salons. Even though I mistakenly first went to Smitten, their sister salon, and was running late, I was greeted at Primp with a smile by the receptionist and immediately offered a beverage.
I was excited to meet Pam my stylist, who also happened to be Filipina. She understood the type of blowout that I wanted and the type of hair that I have. Let me say, this was the best blowout I have ever had! Pam is not only super talented, but also extremely nice and easy to talk to. The only downside is that it happened to be pouring rain that day! I wish I lived in Arlington just so that I could go to Pam for every event! Thank you to the ladies of Primp for such an excellent experience!

After hitting the gym on a Sat morning, I wanted an impromptu blowout and style for the pool and a date. I personally think getting your hair or makeup done regularly is a great confidence boost and helps you put on your A game without stressing.
I called Primp by Smitten, and the kind, courteous girl who answered offered me a couple of slots and options, and then said-​” if you can be here in two minutes, you can have a session with Pam.” Bingo! This is super rare to score a last min appointment in the DC area, so I appreciated her customer focus and aim to please.
I was only a block away, and when I opened the door, I was immediately glad with my choice. It’s a bumble and bumble salon with this gorgeous vintage-​looking wallpaper on a statement wall, cool tin ceiling and very urban chic décor. Super clean, lots of recent magazines. I was greeted and offered a seat right away.
Pam is a gem! First of all, she had a cute topknot, perfect makeup, and a trendy outfit. She cared about her image and that’s confidence inspiring for a new client. She asked me the type of style I wanted– beachy casual waves– and then gave me a great shampoo, blowout, and style. The waves were perfect! Not trying too hard, very chic and people kept staring and smiling when I ran errands. Felt pretty awesome. When we talked I learned that she was a MAC makeup artist for a decade, so it was pretty awesome to have someone with comprehensive styling expertise giving me tips.
When I checked out, my total was $ 44, bc I had used a 20% off coupon. I tipped her $ 10 because her technique and customer service were impeccable.
Compared to many other salons that feature blowouts for $ 25-​$ 35, price is the only limiting factor for for me in how often I will be able to go back. For sure the next time I need to look fabulous, it’s Pam for hair and makeup at Primp by Smitten.

PHENOMINAL place!!! I love, love, love this salon. Maisha is FANTASTIC!!! I could go on and on, but you just have to try it out for yourself. Primp totally ROCKS!

My mom and I made appointments at Primp to get our hair blown out before my bridal shower. I’ve been a customer at Smitten for about 4 years and wanted to try Primp because I love getting my hair done. The girls did a great job. They did a cute bob for my mom and long, loose curls for me. I would definitely recommend Primp for others wanting both a professional and fun experience. It’s in an easy to access location (metered parking is not bad on Saturday or Sunday mornings if you arrive a few minutes beforehand.)

I made a last-​minute Saturday appointment at Primp by Smitten a few weeks ago. I had an event and was in desperate need of a quick blowout. They were so awesome and squeezed me in. I can’t remember the name of the girl who did my blow out, but it was dynamite.
Everyone at the salon was so nice and genuine and happy. Will be returning.

Had my hair blown out for valentines by Mishia. She was fabulous and I loved my hair! I choose a sleek/​bouncy look from their look book and it looked flawless.
