I always looked this place over with the thought, «What can a vegetarian get a diner?» Boy was I wrong! They have tons of vegetarians and vegan options on the menu. We got the teriyaki glazed portabellas and the black bean quesadilla. Both dishes were amazing! Everything tasted so fresh and well-seasoned. I am so impressed by this place. I can’t wait to come back and try more!

Great place for breakfast. The pancakes are excellent and the coffee is solid. All of their products are local, so the focus on sustainability is great. It is busy on the weekends but is worth a bit of a wait for a solid, filling, affordable breakfast. They also have an extensive lunch and dinner menu(which looks very creative) but I never manage to get past breakfast.

The cashier guy Robert is not friendly and not responsible for his job. At the first time I ordered several shakes, I asked him tray he said that they don’t have it. He even didn’t check it. At the second time happened the same thing, I ordered a lot of drinks, and I saw one lady got tray from different cashier, and when my order got ready then I asked for a tray again, the Robert guy said that they don’t have it, I told him that I saw somebody got it from a different cashier, after that he gave me the tray. The 3rd time I ordered my food through the phone, I came to the restaurant after 20min, again that Robert guy said that they didn’t receive the order and said to order it again right now and he left me like he doesn’t care about it. Really a terrible experience. Do not get service from that guy.

This is the BEST Silver Diner!!! I’m sure it’s the same recipes everywhere, but for some reason the food here tastes way better than other locations. There’s lots of parking in the back, so don’t get discouraged if you can’t find a spot on the street. Order a milkshake while you’re here! The smores and oreo flavors are awesome and definitely big enough to share.

I adore this place– during my vegan days it was one of the few restaurants in the DC area that had me covered food wise. I’ve always had excellent service here and the food has always been good– that line on Sundays is atrocious though! #takeoutforthewin Make sure to try their biscuits.

After having lived next to several different Silver Diner locations, I finally tried this one for Sunday breakfast. The line was a bit intimidating at first but it went quickly as people are constantly coming in and out and the place is quite big. I was pretty impressed by the service; everyone was very friendly and helpful and every employee we passed on the way out thanked us for coming. I tried the chicken and waffles which came with an assortment of condiments, I guess you would call them. The syrup was yummy, the pepper honey was interesting and the gravy was delicious. The pecan waffle was nice as well, although the chicken wasn’t your typical fried chicken. It wasn’t bad but I wasn’t expecting it. Not the best chicken & waffles I’ve had but still pretty decent. I would go back to try an omelette or french toast or something from their lunch/dinner menu.

I love this place. I try not to order the Bison Huevos Rancheros every time that I go there. If you sign up for their rewards program you get a free entrée and dessert for your Birthday.

This should been so much better than it was. It was a first time for all four of us, and the bright colorful lights and jukeboxes set the mood and we were all really excited for this dinner together. FOOD — Triple decker club: the sourdough bread they used was too chewy/tough and greasy. Filling was good, but not great. The French fries were limp and lumped together, not hot and crispy. The vegan coleslaw which was supposed to be served with the sandwich was missing. 2.5÷5 — Wasabi salmon sliders: three sliders on soft honey & oat buns. Salmon was thick and juicy, wasabi mayo and teriyaki combo was subtle and tasteful, and the ginger was refreshing. The cranberry and mango side salad was lightly dressed, and was a perfect accompaniment. 5⁄5 — Pesto burger with sweet potato fries: good crispy fries and burger, but the burger felt kind of too dense towards the end. 3.5÷5 — Chicken pot pie and green salad: unusually served in a bowl, the ingredients were nice and chunky. 3.5÷5 SERVICE None of us got our water glasses replenished, and the server didn’t check on us once during the entire meal. This place has so much going for it, and I’d come back if just to get the salmon sliders myself, but on this Friday night, it was overall hit and miss.

I’ll give theses guys credit, they continue to update the menu. I got the turkey platter, which came with thin slices of white meat turkey over a slice of sourdough bread, mash potatoes cranberry sauce and gravy. They get bonus points for partnering up with Koch’s farm located in Pennsylvania. The turkey was good, really just tasted like gravy which isnt a bad thing. The cranberry sauce was a nice change of flavor from the gravy and the mash potatoes were garlicky and fluffy. Paige got the salmon salad which was more than she could handle and she left with a doggy bag. Aubs got the sliders, she especially enjoyed the coleslaw that came with them and the side of carmelized onions. The downpart here was the service. Our server was nice but she got overwhelmed and forgot a straw and silverware for Aubs, not a huge deal.

We came here with a group of eight late in the evening on a Monday night. Service was prompt. I had the eggs Benedict, which were good, but nothing special. I have had the bison huevos rancheros which were better than the eggs Benedict. I’d go back to that any future trip. Bottom one, it’s not a great place, but good for a late night bar time or comfort food trip.

Got the Lumberjack breakfast. Eggs were bland, potato wedges tasted old, Turkey bacon was nice and same for the chicken sausage. Pancakes were really fluffy and tasted great so I can safely say they saved the meal. Probably wouldn’t stop in here again but if you got nowhere else to go it’s not going to be too bad.

Of course this is my second time here, and it was quite nice. The staff was friendly and it was clean. We decided to come… during St. Patrick’s Day weekend. So it was a little loud. Our waiter catered to us, and made sure our orders were correct. I ordered a salad, black and white shake and chicken tenders. Yeah… a meal that a 7 year old would love lol. And it was so good. Crispy salad, yummy shake, and juicy tenders. We would have ordered desert but I was full lol. Parking was free and its behind the restaurant. They are open late and the staff is very nice. Try this place out, they have locations all over the DMV.

I have been waiting to try this place for ages! I’m so glad I had a late Amtrak train arrival and was super hungry so I made my boyfriend take me here last night at 12am. I have to say first that the staff and most importantly our waiter were helpful, friendly and delightful which is usually most important to me. We ordered tea and it was the presentation that stood out to me(compared to other diners). The mugs were a nice full size for adults unlike most diners where you need 8 refills because your cup is toddler size so kudos to big mugs! My boyfriend ordered the roasted veggie huevos rancheros which had beets, butternut squash, black beans, quinoa, goat cheese, avocado, tortilla chips which look homemade just to name a few and it looked very delicious and the presentation again was A-plus. I ordered the tomato-mozzarella sandwich w/cole slaw included on the side and I ordered a side of sweet potatoes because why not?! Everything was delicious and super fresh and I’m still really really surprised that this is a diner(I refuse to believe it). I can’t wait to come back weekly and try the entire menu! Enjoy :)

Easy to enjoy a classic diner. So much to look at. Good menu, decent service, lots of seats(although very busy) will definitely seek out another one. Food was good. Turkey bacon two eggs with potatoes and a brisket. Prices were reasonable.

The service was great this time but sometimes it can be slow. Our server was nice and friendly. I ordered the bison huevos rancheros which was a little spicy, but overall pretty good. I tried my gfs pesto burger and that was tasty. The burger was juicy and the bread was soft. Also I’ve ordered the salmon before off the flexitarian menu and that was delicious. I strongly recommend trying it. Try the shakes too.

Karvika rocks. Best waitress ever. 2am Saturday night and you gave us five star service. Even with all the tables you were handling, you still managed to: 1. bring us extra napkins before we even asked 2. Keep our drinks flowing 3. Check in on us between each course 4. Smile and you were super courteous 5. Be a total rock star The food is delicious too. The Texas short rib something burger with crispy onions and jalapeños was flipping good. I give it 4.5 stars. The bread pudding was delish at 3.5 stars. The salmon sliders were also very good at 3.5 stars. They are thick pieces of salmon with very spicy wasabi on wheat bread with summer salad. We ate it as an appetizer. The service was amazing because of Karvika. This was our second visit and I’m just so impressed with the level of customer service and quality at this place. It is totally worth the metro ride or car trip from DC to va.

The service was great. The server was so nice, he checked on us twice and just seemed so friendly. I got the country scrambler which came with scrambled eggs, sausage with cheese melted on top. Stuff to die for. Also had the pancakes, nothing special but superbly done still. Also, the fruit bowl was gotten just to make me feel healthy. It was a typical diner vibe, but I love their neon lights at night. That gets the extra star and I consider it might comfort food station. Next time, I’ll get the chocolate milk

Where can I start with Silver Diner? I’ve been here probably 10 times in the 2 years I’ve lived in Arlington because a few of my friends are freaks over the place. I admit I was definitely not a fan the first couple times going there but I’ve warmed up to the place a bit going so many times. First off, the food isn’t great. It’s a little better than average. Some things are good and some things are not so good. It all depends on what you get to be honest because a few of the dishes are hit or miss. I’ve gotten rave reviews from Silver Diner’s Honey Mustard(Yes, honey mustard) which honestly keeps them coming back for their chicken tenders. I usually go with steak and eggs. Pretty hard to mess up and they do a pretty good job with it. The caesar salad is pretty spot on too. Service at SD is also really good most of the time. There are a few servers in there who are exceptional — especially having to deal with a large group which is most of the time with my group. One of my favorite things there is the milkshakes. Most notable for me is the chunky monkey. They just feel like old timey milkshakes and not liquidy ice cream you can drink. You can get these to go as well! All in all the place has its charm and is a fun atmosphere with 50’s/60’s music on the personal table jukeboxes. It’s an enjoyable experience and it’s worth the trip over if you’re in the mood for some diner eats.

I’d never ordered an entrée salad at a diner before, but I suppose there’s a first time for everything! I visited Silver Diner for dinner with a friend recently and we were really impressed with this eclectic and homey establishment. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the Grilled Cajun Salmon Caesar salad I ordered. It came with sustainable fresh Atlantic salmon, romaine, kale, romano, tomatoes, croutons, and was tossed with caesar dressing. SOGOOD. OMG, I was in heaven. The salmon was perfectly crusted on the outside, but was melt-in-your-mouth good on the inside! My friend also ordered a salad and a side of fries. There are so many great options here — from soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and other entrees. It really depends on your mood! Please note that it gets PACKED, even for dinner at 7pm on a weeknight(a Tuesday at that). We luckily arrived before a throng of people came for the dinner rush, so thankfully we were seated fairly quickly, but I’m sure some people had to wait 20+ minutes for a table. As for parking — I don’t think there is any… as far as I could tell. But it’s silly to expect there to be any parking in Clarendon generally. I actually didn’t know until recently that this place is a chain. It really does seem like a unique one-off diner in the Clarendon area. I would love to visit one of their other locations(in the DMV area and other states as well). Bottom Line — amazingly eclectic, great service, and an entrée salad that was to die for! So so so good! I will definitely want to visit again.

To be fair there is not a lot of diner competition in the DC area, but this place is still great. Amazing creative vegetarian options and an ever evolving menu. Latest is a Kale blue cheese salad and mushroom teriyaki. Lots of locally sourced veggies, which all the hype tells me is a good thing. Service is always warm and friendly and the price range is reasonable. Not dirt-diner cheap, but you can get a nice meal for two for $ 25. They also have beer/wine and a great dessert menu. Jukeboxes on the table for $ 0.25/song are a nice touch, and the place maintains a nice 50’s vibe. And honestly, sometimes you just need breakfast at 11pm.
