I’ve never had a cactus taco that taste so good before in my life. Located in a Shell gas station off of Pioneer in Arlington, Taqueria Saltillo makes some of the best Mexican street tacos I have ever had. I always get the cactus and barbacoa tacos on flour tortillas and have not been disappointed yet. The tacos come included with cliantro and onions like any good street taco should. The barbacoa is artfully cooked to maximize the flavor and tenderness of the meat. The meat is so good and tender it’ll melt in your mouth. Staff is always super friendly and curteous. The only drawbacks to this place is the cleanliness. The seats have tears in places, the tables are sometimes not clean, and the place is a little divey, but other than that, I definitely recommend this place.

This bad review is for the Abrams location but probably applies to the pioneer location also. I am fed up with this gd place. Every single time I go in there they disappoint me. Every. Single. Time! I went in a few months ago to find a new Mexican food place. I tried it. Tried the desebrada and it was horrible. Who mixes beans with the meat? Tried the barbacoa and it was perfect. Tastes great. The one and only reason I kept going back. But each and every time they either short me on the meat, change what the Burrito Toby actually is, or charged me more without any explanation. Very shady. But, I kept going back because it was just good and made peace with the fact that they just are very very poor at customer service. Understanding that they were always going to disappoint me with the burritos I decided to buy the meat by the pound. 7.99 for a pound of barbacoa. How could I go wrong? I did that 3 times. The first 2 times it seemed kind of light, but I was starving and didn’t pause to actually weigh it. The third time I weighed it. 12OUCNES!!! THEYALLWEIGHED12FREAKINGOUNCES!!! THEYSCREWEDMEAGAIN!!! It weighed EXACTLY12 oz. Not 15, 14, 13 ½. Exactly 12! Which means they knowingly weighed it before bringing it out and knew it was short 25%! That’s IT!!! F this place! I’m never going back. These people are shady. I tolerated the price going up each time I went there ordering the exact same thing. But shorting me exactly 4 oz 3 times in a row is the straw that has broken my mf back. F these people. Keep your crappy little pothole filled restaurant and stick it right up your…

I’m easily satisfied when it comes to ghetto tacos. As long as there’s good sauce and flavorful meat, I’m pretty much set. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this taqueria, it’s located to the left inside the Shell gas station. I saw the sign on the mart when I came here for gas and decided to give it a shot one day. I had a decent experience; ordered the beef taco and it was average. I don’t particularly remember it standing out to me in any way, so I didn’t come back for several months. I went back this afternoon and was feeling pig, so I ordered 3 of the pork tacos as a quick lunch on the way back from work. The woman working the cashier was super friendly. I was concerned that she wouldn’t be very welcoming, since I was a little Asian girl in a gas station filled with Hispanics. All of the seats around the corner were filled with customers stuffing their faces with tacos. She offers onions with every taco, along with the red and green hot sauce. You also have a choice of flour or corn tortillas(as with almost all taco places). Food came out in less than 5 minutes, and when I opened my package(took it to-go) I saw 3 small tacos. I’d say they were about the size of my hand, but I really didn’t mind since each taco was only 99 cents. I spent $ 3.25(tax included) for this, and I thought it was a great deal for something that was quick and made fresh. Red and green sauce came in a tied sandwich baggie and you can buy more for 25 cents each. With places like these, I’m always concerned about the cleanliness of the area. Honestly, the little corner was so open that you could see everything that the employees were doing to make your tacos. For my pork tacos, the meat was fresh and very flavorful. Generous onion portions spread on top, along with a few other spices and cilantro. Two slices of key limes on the side to squeeze on the tacos. I’d say this place is a really great deal. I could have easily eaten 4 tacos, but I was satisfied with the 3 that I ordered. There’s also breakfast tacos(haven’t tried them) and daily specials on certain days of the week, so you can order an entire meal for only a few dollars. If you’re not much of a taco person, I saw a few other options available on the menu as well. It’s definitely more than just a taco corner. And since it’s in a gas station, you can grab a Dos Equis to drink with your taco. It’s a very underrated place, in my opinion. Worth trying out if you’re looking for a less crowded spot on the east side of Arlington.

Tacos are ok. Went here after the other location on Abrams had closed for the evening. Not familiar with too many Taquerias in Arlington area and refuse to eat at Fuzzy’s. Good enough to keep coming until more open up in Arlington.
