I LOVE this place! The Souvlaki is the best in town in my opinion the tzatziki sauce is soooo good and often times she can deliver in less than $ 20 min. Keep in mind it is cash ONLY so come prepared ! But she is so sweet and offers great food and customer service !

I love coming by here! Both the lady herself and her helping man(husband perhaps?) are very friendly and stay at the same location, at the same times, regardless of whether it’s warm out, or in the midst of the winter cold. I absolutely love the food and have always ordered a combination of a chicken kebab and a chicken pita. They taste incredible and I would have given it a full 5 stars but the last time I went by I got stabbed in the lip from the inside, by a chip of wood that was in the pita. I recognize that this is mainly because they strip the chicken off of the kebab stick, to get it in the pita, which shaves the wood, as I’ve seen my kebabs have splinters before before but never thought I’d be battling one in my pita. So be on the lookout for potential of that but otherwise, wonderful people, incredible food, and a very fair price. This is definitely a solid spot to hit if you’re in the area.

9 dollars for 2 skewers of seasoned $ 1.49 a pound Jetro/Restaurant Depot chicken with some salad and a cold pita. I dont really care how famous she is, thats a rip off.

Best souvlaki sandwich you’ll ever have, period. The chicken has a ton of flavor and is dipped in a lemon sauce with a light lemon flavor, not at all overpowering. I roll with mine on a pita with hot sauce and tzatiki yogurt sauce. It’s dynamite. Lived in Astoria for 8 years and this was one of my weekly(at least) staples. You will not be disappointed.

Pros: –Incredibly reasonable with food menus and overall variety –Superb souvlaki lamb, gyros, and not to mention, pita bread –Not too far from the Ditmars Blvd. station. Just a hop skip and a jump there. –Rapid service at a corner that’s next to many restaurants around it. The places around might be jealous… –Passion in making the souvlakis with lemon and BBQ sauce. A plus when it comes to serving to the masses in Astoria –Want seconds? They’re right there callin ya! –Ask her to make it a souvlaki sandwich with your personal works. She’ll do it in style. Cons: –If only she had a chain around. That would’ve scored, especially those that live about ten blocks away from where she sells it. Go figure. Overall, would have had a perfect score if she were closer, but walking the distance just for souvlaki and other things are so worth it. Some places should take notice: THIS is what you call fast, fresh, service with a smile.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to review the Souvlaki Lady! She is my go to souvlaki for YEARS. I’m going to be 25 this December and I remember walking home from 6th grade and picking up a souvlaki for the walk. Her sauces are delicious the meat is fresh and not fatty. Anytime I too far from her and grab another street carts souvlaki I always find myself regretting it. I don’t know what it is, but there’s none other like her! My go to order is two pork sticks with lemon, BBQ and hot sauce. Her hot sauce isn’t overwhelmingly hot, and mixed with the other flavors is PERFECT. I have been ordering and loving the same thing for so long, I sadly haven’t tried anything else! Check her out, she’s the best in Astoria.

Her souvlaki shrank and her prices expanded. I no longer go there because they are just too small. Frankies on 31st ave increased his priced but his souvlaki size stayed the same.

As others have said, the food here is simple, inexpensive and delicious. I have a soft spot for chicken skewers with lemon sauce as that’s what I grew up having in Astoria. This litte cart satisfies that craving. The souvlaki on pita is filling(for me) and the chicken was juicy. Also, the lady and her partner tending to the cart were speedy and pleasant. Love it.

Pork souvlaki in pita was no joke. The pork was tender and not at all dried out. Hot sauce brought it all together. Inexpensive, filling, and perfect for a meal at the nearby park or for the walk back to the N. She seems to have a group of loyal customers, but even with a crowd, the line moves quickly. This is what«fast food» should be!

Meat on a stick for $ 2.50, can’t beat that. My favorite is pork with hot sauce and lemon. The lady who serves them is very nice and if there’s a line it moves fairly quickly. I see them out every day exccept for Sundays, usually from 11am until 7pm or so. Great if you’re on the run.

I’m not even a big fan of chicken souvlaki(give me beef, pork or lamb shish kebob and I’m good to go), but this lady’s chicken souvlaki is off the charts. They do such brisk business that they’re always fresh — and they’re also very nice, pleasant people to deal with. Really worth going out of your way to try their chicken souvlaki that’s less than $ 3. You can tell they’re super by all the Greeks from the neighborhood that chow at their push cart.

I have been in the area checking out apts and I noticed this unusually busy street vendor(for Astoria). The person in front of me ordered two of each — I did not even know what the options were at this point. While I was annoyed that I had not slid in in front of the two of each lady, I could tell the chicken souvlaki would be worth the wait. A few minutes later I was enjoying a fresh off the grill sandwich. Very tasty and filling — with white sauce and hot sauce. Very tasty.

Live across the street from her for the past few months and finally tried a skewer yesterday. Was freaking AWESOME! Can’t wait to go back.

She’s a Saint! Her food is fantastic! Price is so cheap that I always tip as well! Try the sandwich specifically. Any sauce you like! You’ll be very pleased!

This lady makes the best chicken souvlakia! Whether you are having a skewer or a sandwich, they are to die for. Why the 4 stars? I am not a fan of the regular souvlakia. They are too hard and the last couple of times I got them, they weren’t tasty. I never had the hot dogs and I don’t know if she has pretzels but the chicken souvlakia, you just want to have more than 3.

Julie/Julia I call her the souvlaki lady of Astoria and she has the best souvlaki or skewers around. I grew up in queens and i’ve had my share of vendor cart food… but peeps come from all around for this Lady’s meats… She’s located on 33rd street right of Ditmars Blvd in Astoria. She’s there during the day time and you’ll know cause there’s usually a crowd. i enjoy both the beef and chicken. I usually end up going for the chicken. The souvlaki is… wait for it… «Legendaryyyyyy» It’s almost like an art form the way she smoothly dips the meat in what i guess is some kinda of butter sauce… Slaps that chicken on a nice warm pita and tops it off with some lettuce, tomatoes,(hold the onions for me) and of course white sauce… oh don’t forget the hot sauce… it cost I think $ 4bucks or less and it is one of the best quickie meals you’ll ever have. First time i had it… I drove off eating one and made a u turn and got another… Since I don’t live in the hood. I will now get one and eat it right away and another to go so I can pop it in the microwave or toaster oven later… And yes. still almost as good… On those days that i’m trying to slim down and avoid carbs… I’ll go get 2 –3 skewers of the chicken. Again dipped in the butter like sauce and sprinkled with salt and pepper… The meat just starts to sing in your mouth… I will travel far just to get their offerings… When they’re not there, I sadly have to walk across the street to get a gyro…
