So we came for Trivia Night and let me tell you the service was a mess! We had a party of 8 and they sat us at a table for 4. They never cleared the table next to us for the rest of our party so we sat cramped! The ran out of menus so we ordered from to go menus and they only had to go cups! One of my friends ordered a salad and didn’t even get a fork to eat with! They even forgot her hoagie which they ended up giving to her on the way out in a to go box! The food was the only good part of our experience!!! AVOIDTHEM on TRIVIANIGHT!!!

Avoid this place like a plague. Seriously, I don’t think it even deserves a true review. If you dare to step foot into this establishment, prepare yourself for long waits, horrible service, late food, paper cups and menus, and unclean tables. But really, do not come here. The end.

We’ve been eating here for years. The location is great, service is great, atmosphere is casual and family friendly. Only complaint is that it’s just not our favorite tasting pizza. Something about it is just not great to us. Crust and sauce are both a little sweet for our liking. Pretzels are very good though and so is the house salad. We keep coming back though because it’s so close and convenient. It’s not bad pizza at all just not our favorite.

Foods not bad but came here for lunch with 11 people, food came out one dish at a time, way too slow and management no where to be found. Wouldn’t recommend groups here.

This location is kinda a hit or miss for us. Dining in is just fine, but picking up hasn’t gone well. We ordered the kosmic karma and an appetizer, and waited for over ten minutes than they said, awkwardly by the hostess stand. The time we picked up and there was no line, the pizza was cold. Buuuut, we’ll still be back!

Tuesday night dinner at the Mellow Mushroom Dunwoody! Was greeted and allowed to sit anywhere we wanted. Ordered the Sweet Thai Chili wings and a small salad with a calzone. Reginald was our server, and he was excellent. Checked up on us while we were feasting a couple of times, and brought us everything we needed. Even honored a to go soda request… awesome experience!

My first ‘trip’ to Mellow Mushroom. The food is fantastic, the service is really good. Jaxon was outstanding; attentive, courteous and professional. he even checked with the kitchen for an off-menu request and they were able to get it perfect. I’ll definitely come back on my next visit to Atlanta.

Good pizza, good service, a nice patio, and a Braves win on the TVs outside while we listened to tunes by the likes of Creedence, Zep, the Stones, and the Beatles. Not a bad way to spend a warm Dunwoody evening.

Great food. The wait was a bit slow today but still good. Looks like they may be a little understaffed. The philosopher’s pie is the best pie on the menu except you can’t get it by the slice. If they sold this by the slice it would be a best seller. Just noticed that the silverware needs to be re-washed. Sort of gross.

I love Mellow Mushroom — the food is always delicious and it’s has my favorite crust. This one is the closest to my apartment but I love that no matter how busy they are, I get a really good pizza and great service My favorite is the House Special but the Funky Q Chicken, Philosopher’s Pie and Bayou Bleu are some other favorites.

So this has to be the most family-friendly Mellow Mushroom I’ve ever been to. I’m used to the cool vibe, with 20 – 30 somethings hanging out drinking beer and sporting full sleeves and skinny pants. The Mellow Mushroom name has been synonymous to me for chilling out and eating REALLYREALLY good pizza. Instead of those chill, calm adults, you get scampering kids running around, hitting each other and cajoling loudly about who should kiss who, while the parents say absolutely nothing and let them run free like they’re at Chuckie Cheese. Not my scene, really. Mellow Mushroom has absolutely delicious pizza – but only if you get a full pizza. I guess I don’t usually get just a slice, but I had a coupon for a single slice(It was BOGO), and the slice was just… So disappointing. Evidently they have a regular cheese pizza that they simply place toppings on, and cook them separately, because the pizza is warm, but the cheese hasn’t melted into whatever additional toppings you get. I’m guessing they make an entire cheese pizza, and keep it to the side(or in the freezer) for people that want one slice. PROS: Service is pretty good here. There’s a free parking lot – but it can get crowded because it’s a shared lot. The complete pizzas are delicious. It’s really close to my job, so I’m able to eat here at lunch. CONS: Lots of kids running around, unchecked. Single slice of pizza is disappointing. Crowd of mostly families. VERDICT: The(full) pizzas here are delicious, as they are at every Mellow Mushroom, but I probably wouldn’t really come here to hang out with my friends and drink a beer after work. And that’s disappointing(especially since it’s 3 miles from my job), but means it’s a better place for people with families and small children. Of course I’ll come here when I get a coupon, or want an entire pizza for a party or something if I’m going by after work. Don’t get me wrong, the pizza here is still good, but it lacks a certain kind of chill, calm atmosphere that most Mellow Mushrooms have.

We go to Mellow Mushroom all the time. This location lacks some of the décor and overall ambiance that all the other Mellows I have been to had and portrayed. When we go, we always get spinach and artichoke dip(my FAVE!) and a pizza with pepperoni, jalapenos, and pineapple(make your own). Typically, it is pretty standard, tastes the same every time, which is what we want and why we come back. The last time we went, it was different on several levels: 1) the pizza wasn’t quite right. It was doughy, and too think. It was not cooked as well/long as it should have been to be the right texture and taste. 2) it was also covered in way too much cheese — and coming from me, you know that must be a lot, ie. too much. 3) the spinach and artichoke dip no longer comes with pita bread, but instead it came with garlic and herb crostinis — they were not bad, but the waiter did offer to bring me pita when I mentioned the change and I happily accepted. However, the pita, was not the normal white pita bread, and instead of being baked with some olive oil, it was just microwaved. Needless to say, I ate the crostinis. We do like Mellow Mushroom in all locations, and this one is no exceptions, however, it is just not as special as the others and that is what we would expect. Good beer selections, and they have a few wines, full bar as well. It is one of our spots. Hoping next time the food is more up to their standard par.

Everyone loves mellow mushrooms! I never sat there to eat. However, we ordered pizza several times and they were superb! I love their crust and vegan cheese pizza. It does not matter if you are vegan or not, this pizza is unexpectedly awesome. Several guys from our office goes there for trivia night — they say is awesome.

I’m a little surprised I haven’t reviewed this place yet because it’s one of my go tos for pizza, and I’ve been a customer for a couple of years. Better late than never, I guess! There are other pizza places that I prefer over MM but they’re not close to my house, but I’m a fan of MM also, and I’m glad there’s one close to me because it beats Papa John’s any day in my book. The first time I visited this location we had a bad experience but it was fixed by the time we left. It was a long time ago so I don’t remember the details clearly, but I know it involved our food taking a verrrrrry long time to come out. After complaining to ourselves, we complained to the manager at the time, and she took care of us immediately. She confessed the kitchen had forgotten to prepare our order and she comped the entire meal and offered us drinks to go. I haven’t dined in since then, but I’ve picked up quite a few pies to go over the years. I honestly don’t really have any complaints, and I see that there are many lukewarm reviews about this location, so I’m not sure if I’m just lucky or have bad taste in food. If it’s the latter, man, does my bad taste taste good! There’ve been a couple of times when we were sort of eh about our appetizers(the pretzels are hit or miss, the meatballs are okay), but I’ve never really been disappointed in their pies, which is the main reason we eat here. Last night we picked up some food for dinner and every single topping tasted fresh and delicious, from the chicken to the ham and peppers, right down to the delicious crust. I was picking off the chicken pieces to eat by themselves because they tasted so good on their own. Sometimes the pies don’t shine at their best(maybe they skimped/went overboard on a topping or it was not as hot when we got home or the crust was oily), but they’re always tasty. We love the Kosmic Karma — it’s what we get more than half of the time. I’m personally not a big fan of meats on my pizza, but I wil say that I enjoy the ingredients they have — it’s way better than any chain pizza. This review is a case where I wished for half stars because I’d probably have given it 3.5 and that’s largely due due to the prices. I waffle about this: they do have quality stuff, like I said, and it may very well be an example of you get what you pay for, but there have been a few times where I’ve swayed from ordering because of the prices. For a medium pie it’s never less than $ 20, and sometimes I want to get a drink and an appetizer or a salad and by then I’m looking at paying at least $ 35… and something about that doesn’t always sit right by me. So most of the time we end up picking up just a pie. It’s about a 10 — 25 minute wait to pick up food, depending on the day. They also have free wi-fi and an impressive beer selection for a pizza joint.

Over the years I’ve eaten at many Mellow Mushroom locations — as far away as Savannah and as close to where I live as the one on Northlake Drive. This particular location is my choice when at work(I’m currently near Perimeter Mall). Sure there’s a closer location on Roswell Rd right off the interstate, however I believe this location to be superior to that one — plus it has ample parking and a large backroom for dining overflow. I’ve always gotten superior service at this location as well — add everything up and you’ve got a good, overall experience worth the extra few minutes of drive time. As with other Mellow Mushroom locations, one of the superior aspects of this used-to-be-local chain is the tasty wheat crust. These are hand-slung pies so it can be tough to get the gluten-consistency quite right with wheat dough — MM excels here. In general the ingredients are fresh and at this location abundant. They don’t skimp on the ingredients and if anything this Dunwoody location is a bit heavy-handed. Doesn’t bother me but may others, especially if you aren’t into the various sauces. After your first visit you may want to ask for«light on the sauce» The Mellow Mushroom of old I think in general was better — before they starting packaging the sauces and dressings — while the consistency varied a bit, there was a bit more authenticity then that’s now missing. I think this happened when they franchised but there’s always a bit of cost to progress. However, for a chain I think they do an exceptional job. I especially like some of the specialty pies, in particular the Cosmic Karma and the Magical Mystery Tour. In general I prefer meaty pies so for me to recommend two very veggie pies, you know they must be good. These are for the discriminating pizza aficionado — very distinctive and unusual flavors that you don’t commonly find in other pizza joints. I also like the scattering of parmesan cheese that’s crumbled on the crust. Other items I recommend are the calzones(I frequently get the chicken calzone — add jalepenos) and both the Greek and Spinach salads(this latter comes with full strips of bacon goodness that really make the salad special) — pair with the balsamic vinaigrette — the medium is large enough to split between two people. Like the other locations this one has a distinctive décor with a community theme and plenty of flat panel TVs to view the ever-present sports channel. Due to the size of the dining room, I’ve never had to wait for a seat at this location — another boon, especially at lunch.
