Been coming here for over a year. They move a little slow, but are super hospitable, nice and charming. Food is consistently good with wide variety. Desserts are crazy good and so is the basil lemonade…

I love this place. I’m obsessed with the chai tea latte and chicken and waffles. The staff is so friendly, they remind me of my own family. I’ve been here maybe 4 or 5 times but will likely make this a regular breakfast stop.

This little shop is a gem over in East Lake/Kirkwood. It’s the 2nd time I’ve been here, sitting at the bar, & it’s so inviting… with great food & that«regular» feel. They make their grits perfect & have 3 different yummy coffee roasts 2 choose from. Also, try the basil lemonade!

This spot looks like a hole in the wall and if you are speeding down Memorial Drive like I usually am you might miss it. But if you don’t check it out you will be missing out on a treat. Great coffee blends, outstanding home cooked breakfasts and service like you were in Grandma’s kitchen is what you will find. Very friendly, free WiFi and a few must haves: the grits with anything, salmon croquettes and the amazing basil lemonade! Been here twice now and can’t wait to try the other things on the menu.

Wonderfully delightful staff and a cute, charming, shop. Excellent place to set up with your laptop and get some work done, or meet a friend for a treat and drink as it’s just so spacious, warm, and cozy– and the staff so friendly and welcoming. What a great addition to the neighborhood. The food? Well. The grits are truly some of the BEST I’ve had anywhere, and as you all know, I’m a grits connoisseur. I also love the way they do their toast– on the grill. Delicious! Everything else foodwise– meh. FYI: health score was an 84, which I didn’t notice until I was leaving.

Food was delicious, very comfortable and homey. My latte was super good as well(they have both soy & almond milk) and the atmosphere was very inviting. Will make this a regular breakfast spot, even though its a bit out of the way.

Nice neighborhood coffee shop! Service was great. Multiple people made sure we were ok and asked if we needed anything. Also very patient, I had a 2yr old with me. Will be back! Food was very simple. Nothing fancy but still tasted good. I had the biscuit with sausage gravy. Vanilla latte was good as well.

I drive by this place all the time and have been wanting to stop in. I had my first chance today. First impressions stepping in the door was wow! I didn’t have any expectations but I also didn’t expect it to be such a nice, warm, eclectic coffee shop. My little boy and I had breakfast — veggie omelet and pancakes/bacon. I loved the grits and toast(!) and the pancakes were light and fluffy. I’m not usually a coffee drinker but I thought the coffee blend I had was great. Service was warm and quick. I’m happy to have discovered this place and am glad it’s close to home. I intend to visit often — just wish they were open on Sundays.

I have absolutely no complaints about this place and actually want to rave about it a bit. I had never heard of «My Coffee Shop» and sort of happened upon it. My four year old son and I were on our way to scout out another breakfast joint when he had to use the bathroom. I saw this place and pulled over, figuring I’d at least get a coffee. When we walked in, the people working behind the counter greeted us with a friendly«Good morning!» I ordered my coffee, took my son to the bathroom, and then decided to look at the menu. That was the point I decided we’d just eat there. It was exactly what I had been in the mood for– comfort food. I ordered a veggie omelet with a yummy buttery(probably pan fried) biscuit and cheese grits. Everything tasted fresh and I would be surprised if the biscuits were not home made. Everyone working there was really nice and also very sweet to my son. I also like the feel of the place. It was definitely a coffee shop eatery, but something about it was homey and made me just want to hang out for a bit and enjoy. After we were done eating, they gave me a sample of their signature basil-lemonade which I really liked. I was worried it would take away the biscuit flavor I was trying to savor, which it did, but it was worth it. It was a little like dessert so I don’t know if I’d get it all the time, but I hadn’t ever heard of basil lemonade, so I was definitely glad I got to try it. Some of the Unilocal reviews about this place are not so great, so I’m glad I didn’t read them ahead of time. They absolutely did not reflect my time here. In other words: my experience was wonderful and I will definitely go back.

I absolutely love this place. It’s been up and running for 3yrs and I have seen nothing but progress. Amazing home-style breakfast and delicious lunch items, topped with the«AMAZING» Basil Lemonade. I would say this place is a MUST at least 2x a week. Love My Coffee Shop.

First time there today. Service was ok, but prices are a bit steep. Paid $ 19 for two eggs/bacon bagels and two coffees au lait to go. … Which would have been fine if the breakfast sandwiches were delicious. Instead, this is what I found on my bagel once I got home: mold. Right on the top bun. Needless to say, I will NOT be coming back here. I did complain to management and got a gift card for the total amount of my purchase. Not sure that I’ll use it though.

Ridiculous coffee situation. This restaurant as its not a coffee shop per say is located very close to where a friend lives and at his suggestion we decided to try it yesterday. Dear God I have to say go with your gut. After 15 minutes of sitting with a coffee that we had to go find at the back of the establishment we were still waiting to order. Just as we were discussing leaving the server appeared. We were sitting at the bar and he was there the whole time but trying to get his attention was like trying to move Everest. We recognized him from another restaurant, I can only surmise he got the boot from there when they discovered he couldn’t walk and chew gum at the same time. When you enter you get settled as you would anywhere, you take off your coat, put your purse down, a laptop perhaps, I was charging my phone, I then ordered coffee about ten minutes of waiting occurred to get to this point. I was given a mug and directed to the back of the building as I stated but you can see your stuff from there, do I start over and take my purse my laptop my charging phone and try to carry it all while pouring my coffee from 6 flasks that were there for God knows how long. ??? completely unimpressed at this point but we then waited the other 15 minutes to order the food and another 20 to get it, people waiting on take out orders were asking if he had forgot to put the order in. NO, was the reply bu the cook was busy, Why cause there were only 5 in the whole place. After this a second server appeared, she had less motivation than the first and moved at a slower pace. Im not sure if they were saving themselves for later or what but if I was the owner Id seriously rethink my staffing situation. The food came swimming in oil. Disgusting is the only word for it, Inedible slop and for this I was charged over $ 20.00. Well I wont be back and we eat out all the time, we don’t have a kitchen currently so they could have made a lot of money from us. I wont be back and if your cholesterol is an issue I suggest you don’t either. In the middle of this fiasco the sever was blending drinks like guddo, he then gave the 5 customers a jello cup of frozen lemonade and basil which is there signature drink to taste and asked if we wanted to buy one. So the reason he wasn’t taking orders or giving checks or delivering food was he was making this bloody drink where he put entirely too much sugar and basil in and was giving away for free. The lunatics are running the asylum and the HR Department of this place. I even came back this morning to give them a second chance as I always do before I write a bad review of a place or server. That has been my profession for years and everyone is entitled to a bad day. No this bad review is warranted I’m sorry to say. As useless lets call him was taking the money, he asked generically«how was everything» «terrible I said» he looked and said«really»? and I said«you asked so I answered but you probably don’t care do you»? I didnt get a reply so Im guessing he didn’t give a monkeys/

Ambience nice, but they simply don’t have the right people to pull this off. I patronized for the first time this weekend and our order came out at different times, so I wasn’t even able to eat with my daughters; apparently my eggs were an afterthought and had to be cooked. Also, when the owner asked how everything was as she cleared our plates, and I told her that the grits were cold she replied, «you know the chef probably put them on the plate first, I don’t know why they do that.». Really?! Is this not your place, and please believe there was no adjustment to the bill
