Surprise food truck Tuesday on the film set of Rectify S4. Several options available. Something for everyone to try. I had the BBQ tacos with slaw and a spicy BBQ sauce. It came with two tacos and a huge order their famous line salt fries. Everything was made fresh on small flour tortillas. Each taco was packed full of ingredients and covered heavily with delicious sauce. Too many fries to eat ! What kept them from getting five stars was the quickness in which the employee got flustered with a few big orders and the time in which it took to get those orders put together. The truck looked like it was in great shape and clean. Cleanliness in a food truck is very important to me. I would definitely try them again and could easily try a few different items on the menu !

Tex’s Tacos came to visit my work in Buckhead and I’m a huge fan of Mexican food so I was all in to try them out. I waited in line for about 30 minutes and then ordered the Chicken Fresca taco and the Mexicana Fries. I received my food in less than 5 minutes. The taco was very tasty and fresh. I would definitely order that again. The Mexicana Fries were the Lime Fries with all the toppings, including a meat(I chose chicken). They were out of jalapenos when I visited so my food was not spicy at all, which is a bummer for me because I prefer spicy. As this is a food truck, it’s a little expensive for what you get. Each taco is $ 4 and the Mexicana fries were $ 9. I would likely visit them again if they came by, but I would probably stick to the 2 tacos and the Lime Fries(only $ 3), which seemed to be what a lot of other people were ordering.

This food truck makes so of the most amazingly fresh tacos. So this truck was started by Mac, who I knew from a while back. I was a huge supporter of his dreams and even though he has moved on, he should know that the truck is still making an impression on people. I love the veggie and chicken tacos. What I love even more though… Lime fries. Yes!!! French Fries with lime salt. So good! Just add some hot sauce and you have an amazing snack. The prices are also really reasonable unlike some others that want you to pay an arm and a leg.

Tex Taco’s came to my apartment complex earlier this week and after trying their food I hope they return soon. I tried the Carne Asada and Chicken Fresca tacos and they were both very good. Something about the way their cook their steak and chicken just makes it stand out from all the taco spots in Atlanta. I also tried the lime fries which were very good but next time I’m trying the Texicana Fries which looked incredible. In addition to the food, the service was great. My food was ready quickly and one of the guys on the truck, Joey, was very helpful with everything. Overall it really was just a great experience and hope to see the Tex’s Tacos foodtruck again soon.

I loved their tacos. I personally liked the chicken &BBQ the best, in that order. I gave 3 stars because I ordered the pork Pasteur taco & when I first received it they realized they put steak. They supposedly corrected it by replacing it with pork as I ordered. However when I finaly sat down to eat it at the office, it was steak after all.

I had Tex’s Tacos come out and cater my wedding over Labor Day Weekend. It was the biggest hit! We did the Unlimited Tacos option and everyone had a blast tasting and trying all of the different types of tacos. I had so many people come up to me and say«These are the best tacos I have ever had!» and it’s true. The Lime Fries were AMAZING and the BBQ Taco was my favorite. Tex’s Tacos was great at communication and at making sure we had everything we needed to make our wedding day smooth. If I ever throw another huge event I would gladly get Tex’s Tacos to cater! I’ll be back for more!

Poor customer service! At an Adidas sponsored even in Alpharetta on Tuesday 7⁄28 I had the misfortune of experiencing the bad temper, unprofessional remarks and poor customer service from one of the guys serving food on Tex’s Tacos Food Truck! I was near the back of the line and the guy sticks his head out the window and tells the guy behind me that he is the last guy and anyone else behind him won’t be able to order. Sure, this is normal, but for future reference, if you want a cutoff, then get your ass off the truck or pay someone to do that for you! In front of me was one of the Adidas sponsors who just stepped out of line to talk to a friend of his, who WASNOT ordering food, when this same jerk stuck his scraggly head out of the window, looked at me and told me «the guy who just cut in front of you won’t be getting his order». I immediately protested and told him that the guy was in line the whole time and stepped out to talk with his friend. The unprofessional comments didn’t stop there. The line was still backing up as people were just getting off the courts, and the poor guy who was appointed«deputy» was now the bad guy… To this, the rude guy tells his crew that anyone after the skinny guy at the back are not getting any tacos and to tell them to F@%# Off. This is poor customer service and if Tex’s Tacos knows who this guy is, then ya’ll have to deal with it. The food truck was hired to cater an event from 5 – 8 with no other options on site. Tex’s Tacos were paid for the number of tickets collected and cash was not being taken. It just takes one bad apple to spoil the batch and I’m not letting this jerk take away from that event. I will be posting this on as many social media sites to get the word out about Tex’s Tacos. I will also be advising anyone who has other options in picking food trucks… to go with them!

I’m not sure what happened from the time of their last review until now. I stopped to try the Tex’s Food Truck while grabbing a coffee at Dancing Goats(Ponce Market). I was starving! First thing I had to eat all day, I ordered the veggie quesadilla and their infamous lime fries and no drink it equaled $ 11. I started on the line fries first because like I said, I was starving. The first one I tried lacked salt or any seasoning. I’m not sure what oil they are cooked in. I tied another one with the lime salt and it was what I was missing but it was only sprinkled on a couple of fries. They should totally toss the fries in the salt after pulling them from ur fryer so it can be coated property. The quesadilla. Oh Lord, how does one mess up a veggie quesadilla?! Here’s how: put white American cheese on it with the least amount of vegetables as possible. I thought I was crazy when I tasted American cheese which I hate! Maybe because it’s a «Texas» truck they decide to be all American with their Mexican Tacos & Quesadillas! I’m sorry but I won’t try them again, the two stars are for the two fries that had the lime salt on them.

The food was mediocre. Especially for having to wait in line for an hour. Lime fries were okay but a little too soggy for my taste. Barbecoa, pork, and carne asada were all items I tried. Carne asada was the best but still was mediocre.

Tried them out at the Dogwood Festival and it was pretty good, but nothing too special. The tacos were very well priced for the size and a generous amount of meat, however the slaw on top wasn’t all that great. They do accept cards which is great if you’ve already spent the cash you brought with you to any festivals! If it’s around, I suggest trying it. You won’t know until you do, and it was worth the price compared to all the over-priced nasty food at the Dogwood Festival!

When I found out that Tex’s Tacos’ food truck would be parked outside our office building in Midtown, I just had to check it out. It was a Thursday around 11:30 am when I went, and there were maybe two or three people in front of me in line. I always try to get to food trucks either 30 minutes before noon or after 1 pm to avoid the longest lines! I hadn’t heard about Tex’s Tacos beforehand so I had zero expectations. But the first thing I noticed was the priciness of their tacos. $ 4+ for one taco?!! Hmmm… Nevertheless, I decided to pick two — the Carne Asada and Chicken Fresca. While I considered ordering some of their Lime Fries($ 4.25!), I didn’t order any because I was told I would need to wait about 10 minutes for them to cook. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to stand around and wait as I was on my way to a meeting… =( Luckily, the tacos were served up fairly quickly! * Carne Asada Taco($ 4.50) — Per the menu description, this taco is made up of «Citrus-splashed skirt steak, guacamole, salsa roja, grilled onions, cheese, cilantro» wrapped up in a standard(read = SMALL) taco-sized tortilla wrap. They had no problem with holding the cilantro and got that part right. Sadly, what was supposed to be «grilled» onions turned out to to be raw. Ick… I am NOT a fan of raw onions in ANY food. So the steak was not very tender or flavorful and the raw onions threw off the taste of the whole taco for me, so overall it was«meh.» I would say it deserved two stars. * Chicken Fresca($ 4.25) — I was pleasantly surprised at how good this chicken taco was! This taco contains«Honey-lime chicken, grilled onions, pico de gallo, salsa roja, cheese, cilantro»(NO cilantro for me, of course). That honey-lime chicken was DELICIOUS! I love honey, and it went very well with the lime to provide a unique flavor to the chicken. I don’t recall this one having any onions in it(maybe they forgot to put it in?), which was great because it ruined the flavor of my Carne Asada taco. I ended up wishing I had gotten two of these tacos. Overall, Tex’s Tacos gets 3 stars for their«OK» tacos considering the prices they charge for one taco. Personally, I don’t think that a taco is really worth more than $ 3(EVER), but apparently others don’t mind shelling out the cash for Tex’s Tacos. [Review 028 of 100]

Tex’s is one of the first Atlanta food trucks I had the pleasure of tasting, back in maybe 2010, and I still get excited today when I see they’re somewhere that I am going to be. I’ve had a few different tacos, but I never order without including the Pastor de Puerco. It’s pork, pineapple, cheese, onion and cilantro. oh if I could just spew curse words right now. that’s how good it is. BTW, you know things taste better when you say things like«Oh yea,» and«Mmmm,» right? Another tip. it tastes even better when you close your eyes. You can thank me later. I’ve also had the pulled pork taco, and it was very good, but I feel like I could find it somewhere else and be happy with it too. The Pastor, to me, seems like a staple of Tex’s… and I don’t really WANT to get that from anywhere else. My mouth is seriously watering as I write this. I also get their Lime fries on occasion. Want to hear something crazy? I pretty much HATE lime unless it’s in the form of Lemon Lime Gatorade. BUT Tex’s Lime Fries? They are the bomb! I can eat those like crazy. They’re somehow sweet and salty at the same time, and limey. which, again, never sounds good to me. but it works. You know it’s gotta be good. I don’t even let lime touch my vodka crans. eff that. The dudes are awesome, too. I’m not sure which one of them is Tex. or if it’s one of those Hootie and the Blowfish situations where no one is actually Hootie. or they all are, collectively, Hootie. that kinda thing. It just doesn’t matter. it allll works. Go Tex!

«I like tacos and I like beer.» Against All Odds(1984) Tex’s is a must find when you go to any food truck gathering, but warning, they are pricey. $ 4+ for a small taco(6-inch) is a wallet-buster. This trip I selected the Chicken Fresco taco(honey-lime brined chicken, pico de gallo, salsa roja, cheese and cilantro) and the Carne Asada taco(citrus-splashed skirt steak, grilled onions, guacamole, cheese and cilantro). Both were juicy, spiced right and packed with flavor. I had them on flour tortillas(you can get them on corn if you ask). The chicken had a sweetness that was not overpowering, but just right. The steak had the right zing from the citrus with a nice kick. I also sampled the Lime Fries; slightly sweet with a nice pungent lime punch. Bonus point for Tex for offering up Mexican Coke and Mexican Fanta(ding ding ding). Let’s hear it for pure cane syrup, folks!!! I highly recommend them, as long as you can handle the price tag.

For $ 7 you get a quesadilla consisting of a store-bought tortilla shell and a singular slab of melted pasticy Kraft Singles style cheese-like-food-product. In other words, for $ 7, you get ripped off.

Oh, Tex”s Tacos… Oh how I LOVE your simple, yet, superyummydelicioso chicken taco. I tried to make it at home … and let me tell you … I don’t know what it is… but I couldn’t duplicate that yumminess for anything. If you see ‘em at a food truck park or parked somewhere… you must RUN to the tacos and order yourself some! You’ll love ‘em! Tell ‘em Suzanne sent you. haha. JK!

Tex’s Tacos is a tacos and quesadillas food truck. Check out their web site( ) to see their weekly schedule and find out where they’ll be next. The truck is shiny and new, painted in bold red, orange, and yellow colors with a miniature steer statue in front. Tex’s Tacos’ small menu features tacos, quesadillas, fries, chips and dip, and a couple desserts. I was told by one of the employees that the carne asada(steak) taco is their most popular taco. I ordered one of those and a pastor de puerco taco. The steak in the carne asada comes«citrus-splashed» with grilled onions, guac, shredded cheese and cilantro. The pastor de puerco taco consists of chili and pineapple-marinated pork with grilled onions, pineapple, shredded cheese, and cilantro. All tacos are $ 3.00 with the exception of the carne asada($ 3.50), tax included, and come on single-layer 6-inch flour tortillas. Overall, taste and quality of the tacos was very good. Both were infused with citrus flavors(lime in the steak, pineapple in the pork). Amount of cilantro seemed sparse so I’ll probably request more next time. Two tacos did a good job of filling me up, though I could’ve easily eaten another one. The tacos were prepared and served in a matter of minutes. At the end of the truck, there are a variety of salsas and hot sauces to put on your tacos and quesadillas including: Diablo(buffalo-style), Roja(Mexican table salsa), and Picante(taco sauce). Eating the tacos does get a little messy, especially if you add salsa/sauces, so be sure to grab plenty of napkins. Disposable silverware is also available next to the napkins. Drink-wise, the truck has mainstream sodas, Jarritos(sweet Mexican soda), and bottled water.

I come from the land of food trucks so I expected the same quality when this trend arrived here. The taco wasn’t bad at all! It was just really really expensive for the one taco they gave. For $ 3, I expected something bigger than what I had. I ordered the Pastor de Puerco taco and it was really tasty with messy, good meat. Don’t worry about the long line. They make their tacos and quesadillas really fast so a line shouldn’t stop you from getting this. The girls in front of me that ordered quesadillas got slices larger than their head. The value was worth it here.

Now this is a taco I can see myself coming back for. I opted for the chicken fresca. Unlike some people, I love cheese. It’s a food group in my world. So I don’t mind a taco loaded up with cheese. This one definitely didn’t disappoint. It was huge and full of well seasoned meat, fresh pico, & lots of cheese. I can never remember the name of this kind of cheese, but I would happily sell my left kidney to know where to find it. Or I could just, you know, keep ordering from Tex’s. It was a bit on the messy side, but that’s half the fun of street food. I’m really glad I didn’t get 2. One taco almost filled me up. I’ll definitely be back next week and give either the pork or steak a try.

Yet another day in the life of a wanna-be taco connoisseur. Today’s sampling came during Street Food Thursday(my favorite day of the week, by the way). Props to them for accepting credit cards. Mega props and an extra star for having Slush Puppies. YES! Slush Puppies! My absolute favorite way to suffer a brain freeze. Here again we have a mediocre taco experience. Flour tortillas with a ton of cheese packed on top. I ended up skipping the shell and using a fork to eat the contents. Unfortunately they ran out of pork before I got to the front of the line. The meat in the carne asada and chicken fresca both taste great, The lime fries were my favorite, though. Salty and sweet like kettle corn.
