So family friendly! And I love the vegan and gluten free options. Food and service are great.

I never heard of Barberito’s until a few of my classmates insisted that we have lunch their. I ordered a chicken quesadilla. I was actually pretty good! I instantly thought about«Chipotle» when I walked in, but the two are very different! I get a little more flavor at Barberitos!

Excellent service — they always know how to treat the customers well and are very accommodating. Kids eat free Mondays after 4 and all day Saturdays, which is great for a family of five!

I use to come here twice a week in the mid-afternoon. Lately the service just appears to have become very basic. There is no longer a friendly greeting or smile when you enter or a good-bye when you exit. Any question you ask an employee(usually the same two working around this time during week) gives me the feeling that I have somehow inconvenienced them. The salsa that was on display today was extremely watered down & looked like soup. I asked if there was more prepared in the back. The guy gave me a look of disgust as if I was being picky. He brought out a fresh(thick) bowl and only let me get scoops from it, then he took the fresh bowl to the back leaving the watered down salsa there! I thought it was just a fluke last month when I received poor service so I took a break from going there. I gave it another shot & it has only gotten worse. The food is healthy but I cannot visit an establishment with this level of customer service. Needless to say there are plenty of other healthy options in Buckhead to choose from!

I must say I am impressed. I had never heard of Barberitos. Perhaps you haven’t either. I recently used my Unilocal app to find a spot to escape the rain and the traffic, and it pointed to Barberitos. It was the pre-dinner lull. And it was quiet. Perfect. Barberitos was an edge or two better than the fast– burrito joint you’re used to. They seem to pride themselves on what appears to be a real emphasis on fresh foods, prepared(probably in-house) from fresh, healthy ingredients. For instance, they have more than just lettuce – these folks have romaine and spinach, too. There is even tofu and sautéed vegetables on the menu for the herbivores amongst us. And you get your choice of tortilla flavors. There is a nice selection of hot sauces on the side, including one mysterious bottle of hotness which is jammed into its hole so perfectly, you must be the chosen one to remove it from its sacred bonds. And then you can rule your burrito forever. Combine this with a handy power outlet and some wifi, and I succeeded in getting out of the rain(and I avoided traffic altogether). BTW, the wifi is spotty. I hope they get that fixed. I had a steak burrito. The steak is nice and spicy. A little smoke. A little burn. I didn’t dress it up too much.(This was a late afternoon snack, after all.) The burrito was really quite good. And I won’t hesitate to return for more. Holler if you’re coming with.

This has moved up my rankings of «Best fast Burrito in ATL» and is now tied with Willy’s for the top spot. Chips are so dang good. And that green salsa? Forget about it. So good.

I walked in and was not greeted by anybody and most restaurants like this you usually are greeted… I thought my experience was very unprofessional restaurant only 2 guys were working, the tables weren’t wiped off the guy who made the burrito was kind of an butt hole and after they served us, they both went outside leaving the restaurant empty which was kinda weird, and I didn’t see any health inspection papers near the front, I planned on getting tofu in my burrito but then looked at the tofu in the window and it looked nasty, so I went with steak. Other than all of that the food was quite good which is the only reason I’m giving 3 stars.

I decided to try this place from all the previous reviews. I did not like this place at all. This was my first time visiting and as I was reading the menu, the guy kept asking me what I wanted. Thank goodness I knew I had a craving for nachos. After the guy finished my plate, he told the girl(who was frying taco shells) to check me out. She had a look that she didn’t really wanna be bothered. My guacamole tasted old and my chicken was bland. I have no desire to ever try this place again.

The food was good but not at that price. Charging 69 cents for a paltry amount of sour cream and 99 cents for guac per taco, bringing the price to almost $ 5 a taco is absurd. Prices have changed drastically since last we dined here and we won’t be coming back. Both Willy’s and Chipotle are cheaper.

Love this place! I end up eating here about 1X/week when I’m in the area! I almost always get the BURRITOBOWL without meat, only beans. I like that I have an opportunity to eat a little cleaner and lighter(*and vegetarian) and I can still do it on the fly, FAST! Their chips are light and thin, which I love! They’re also always freshly made which is another bonus. Their Queso dip is to die for! Much better than Moe’s for sure. Another thing I love is their fresh SWEETTEA which admittedly has become quite a habit for me since I’ve been back in the South. Their tea is great and they also always have plenty of fresh lemons. One of the main reasons I really like this place is that it’s MUCHCLEANER than most burrito chain restaurants. Because they’re such a fast paced operation, it’s not uncommon for most burrito chains to get a bit messy. I’ve never seen that here! Everything is always buttoned up, super clean, organized, and it appears to be incredibly SANITARY which of course, I love. The other thing about Barberitos is that no matter which location, whether it be Sandy Springs, Decatur, Athens or any of the others, the staff are ALWAYSFRIENDLY and inviting. It’s a warm ‘Cheers’ like environment which is always a bonus! Sidenote: ***They often run ‘deals/offers’ on their Facebook page so it’s worth following them to be sure if they run one you can snag it! :-)

This place didn’t impress due to dirty grill, dirty floor, produce looked nasty, dry and old. Floor was littered with crap, in general this place was filthy. Can’t comment on how the food was because when we noticed how dirty it was behind the counter we canceled our order and left. Don’t understand how this place stays open with Moes being right across the street.

I know lots of people that went to UGA love this place since they frequented the Athens location while in college. Barberitos has appeared in Atlanta as another choice for the«fast, casual,» burrito experience and I too have been converted and I love Barberitos. My favorite thing, hands down is the tofu here. It has a spicy marinade which makes it really good. The husband even tried a bite of it and liked it — I may even convince him to use it as his protein of choice for his burrito next time. Even if you are not vegetarian, try the tofu, you won’t regret it. I also like the«fixins»(coined by me, not Barberitos) available. Spinach, sliced green peppers and fresh mushrooms are my favorite, which you don’t see at other burrito places. The corn salsa, guacamole and salsa fresca are pretty standard for a burrito place. Like Moe ‘s and Willy’s chips are free with purchase of your burrito.

Good food(better than Moes, less so than Chipotle), fair prices, clean atmosphere. It was a little strange that all of the TVs were tuned in to a Spanish language news agency, when no one who work there or no other patron appeared to speak Spanish. But whatev.

Solid steak tacos, quesadillas and guac. We had the spicy chicken quesadilla and the spice was nice. Great for take out and very quick. Would eat here over Moe’s as the ingredients seem fresher. Friday they have fish tacos and we will be back to try those soon.

Barberitos is really identical to Moe’s or Willy’s but has better meat and music selection. I got the steak skinny burrito, which is pretty hefty burrito. What I liked specifically is the steak actually had some flavor to it, which was nice in comparison to Moe’s bland steak. Now the music selection… they play 90s all day. I guess it’s matter of personal preference, but it made my lunch break so much more enjoyable. The reason for three stars is it’s pretty pricey($ 7 for a burrito). I’m not sure I’d make this a regular lunch spot, but good if you’re looking for«assembly line» tex mex.

Barberito’s was a staple of my college career. I ate there at least once a week, maybe two or three times depending on how much I’d been drinking, because a burrito from this joint was my hangover cure-all. Back in the day, when Elizabeth H. and I were living together in a house our junior year, we’d venture to Barberito’s where her sister worked. Appropriately, it was fair Elizabeth who brought it to my attention that Barberito’s opened a location in Buckhead. Thank goodness that one of my favorite Athens establishments is now ITP! It was just as good as ever. I wasn’t hungover today but the burrito still made me feel great :) I love my «Fatty»(which allows me to add guac) and all the yummy toppings. Downing Barber — if you’re reading this — thank you!

Personally, I thought it was kinda silly that so many assembly-line style Mexican restaurants were popping up after Chipotle became super popular years ago. Why? Because, in my opinion, Chipotle still does it best. However, when my co-workers recently suggested that we try Barberitos’ burritos, I was down to give them a shot. Founded and based in Athens, GA, the restaurant’s name — «Barberitos» — is a derivation of the name of the founder, Downing Barber. The company mascot, a chili pepper named«Pepe» holding a burrito(which looks like a large cigarette!), looks kinda cheesy. Based on the restaurant signage(«BARBERITOS» in caps) alone, I normally wouldn’t have chosen to eat here. Five of us arrived around 1 pm on a Friday afternoon, and the wait to order was probably a little over five minutes. After glancing at the menu while waiting for the line to move, I decided to get the«Fatty» steak burrito in a Chipotle-flavored flour tortilla. How cool is it that in addition to the traditional flour tortilla, they have different FLAVORS of tortillas? They offer Chipotle, Spinach, as well as a Wheat option for tortillas. I had never seen this before at at other assembly-line burrito place and thought it was neat! * «Fatty» Steak Burrito($ 6.99) — Per the menu description, the«Fatty» burrito contains rice, beans, meat, cheese, salsa, and either guacamole OR sour cream. I got the steak with rice(there is NO cilantro in it), pinto beans, cheese, and sour cream. Although I was sad when I found out that all of their fresh salsas contain cilantro(BOO!), I was happy with the variety of veggies they offered for toppings. I requested the addition of diced tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, and lettuce to my burrito. As the employee finished assembling my burrito, he placed it in a basket with some chips! Similar to Moe’s, the chips are complimentary with the purchase of a burrito. Customers are also free to help themselves to as much fresh(cilantro-filled) salsa as their heart desires from the salsa bar.
When I bit into the burrito and tasted the steak, I knew that it had nothing on Chipotle’s steak. The steak is char-grilled, and it wasn’t nearly as flavorful as Chipotle’s, but it was decent. Honestly, I couldn’t really taste the flavor of my orange-colored Chipotle tortilla. Maybe it’s just food-colored to make you *think* it has a special flavor. Nevertheless, I thought that the burrito was a solid, satisfying meal. The chips were fresh, crispy, and good, but it was disappointing that I couldn’t have some cilantro-free salsa with it. Overall, Barberitos gets 3.5 stars for their good burrito and friendly service, but I’m rounding up to 4 because their ingredients are truly fresh and delicious. It’s definitely way, WAY better than Moe’s. The main suggestion I would give is to PLEASE make a cilantro-free salsa! =) I would definitely return if my choices were either Moe’s or Barberitos, but I probably wouldn’t specifically crave the Barberitos burrito. As I watched this Tex Mex restaurant going up for the past few weeks, I was hoping that it would be really good as its a stone throw from home. Who isn’t down for a tilapia taco or burrito at any given moment? I sauntered over on Friday night but wasn’t extremely hungry so I got a steak taco with soft flour tortilla(skinny), Just veggies and cheese and had them put some cilantro on it for extra taste. They obliged. It was good, the steak had good flavor but was a tad chewy. What do you expect for $ 3.29. I was satisfied. I think that Barberitos might be a step up from Moe’s in the freshness department and also the cleanliness of the Buckhead location. I will definitely go back for the Friday fish tacos. They have a small patio out front right where you park your car etc. With tables and chairs, kinda weird, but I can appreciate the initiatitive
