Great place for a tasty breakfast served by pleasant staff. Every time I eat here I am greeted with a smile and waited on promptly. I have too many favorites to list here. Coming here for breakfast has become a weekend ritual. If your looking for great food, awesome staff, and excellent service make sure you try it!

For a place with coffee house in the name, you’d expect really good coffee. But the coffee is just diner grade… in other words, don’t expect Starbucks full body flavor here. If you like weak coffee, this place is for you. It’s a full service breakfast restaurant, not a quick in and out place unless you want coffee and a muffin to go. The muffins look delicious.

This place is your typical breakfast joint hints 3 stars. Pretty strait forward except for one thing, the muffins. They bake fresh muffins during the day and then heat them on the flat top, I’m guessing, which leads to a very tasty crust. The morning I was there they had 4 – 6 different fresh muffins to choose from. Top of the muffin to you!

I had an enjoyable experience. Because it was Fathers Day, there was gonna be a wait to be seated, so we decided to sit at the bar. Well, Patty our waitress was a delight. She was loaded with personality and made our meal fun. Oh, and the food was delicious too! Thanks Patty!

The only breakfast stop you’ll need. Eggs any style and make sure you get a home cooked muffin and get it grilled !!!

Food was great! Pancakes were humungous and delicious. The service was very good. What I like the most was the fact that the food wasn’t greasy!!!

It’s been a while since I updated this but believe me, I’ve re-visited more than my share over the last year. Some updates: the rotation of cooks seems to have leveled off and I see the usual suspects on a regular basis. This is good as it means consistency. There are two items I go to regularly: Eggs Benedict and Western with Swiss. The former more than the latter. The hollandaise is nothing fancy, but really tasty. I more or less cut then mix everything up and wolf it down. With the hash browns both of these are great… and on both I get English Muffins that are nice and crispy. Staff is always friendly but as other reviewers have reported, there seems to be a large crowd of regulars. It doesn’t mean they’re rude to you… you’re just not a regular yet.

I have been going to the Heritage Coffee Shop for many years and the quality has always been fantastic. The staff are always welcoming and attentive and the food is delicious. You can’t beat the value of the«The Heritage» which is a full breakfast for less than $ 6. If you’re looking for a local place that prepares fresh food and good coffee then this is the place for you!

I now work in the area at Bertera Nissan. I go here a few times a week. Not only is there food good and their coffee great. The owner and workers are very friendly and nice. I highly recommend going here if you want a nice breakfast and nice people. Jason

When my colleague and I walked in here in suits before a meeting, I’m fairly certain I heard a record scratch as everyone in the room turned to stare at us. This felt the kind of place at which someone would grab breakfast in a misguided Ben Affleck vehicle about growing up in Southie. None of the waitresses really looks at you. Most of the clientele seemed to be sitting in their prescribed seats. The booths are made from plastics that no longer exist. For the price, this was very solid. They have all the basic breakfast items you’d expect from a diner-type place. I got a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich(which was really just an omelette hilariously sticking out of a croissant). My colleague got some pancakes that smelled delicious. When we were paying, we noticed some enormous pastries beneath the register. My colleague looked at the fairly heavyset waitress and said, «Nice muffins.» She looked down, either at herself or the display case, and said«Thanks.» They stared at each other for one second too long, then we left. I will not forget that moment.

Unlike other posts, I think the food was by far the worst part. Eggs were undercooked and slimy, hash was from a can. The only thing good about our breakfast was the service. Please stay away, it is sad when you walk in and the sign says Homemade and nothing on the menu is homemade. You can drive to better locations for breakfast within just a few minutes, sadly, including Dunkin Donuts

Can I rate just the food??? If I did I would add another 2 stars. I had an Auburnite breakfast that was quite yummy. Everything was cooked just right and tasted fantastic. The downfall here was the service, or lack of it. We got here around 11, just before it started to fill in. No greeting when we waked in, Do we sit wherever we want or is someone supposed to seat us. Baby B decided she couldn’t wait and picked her own table. We sat around for a full five minutes before our waitress came over for our drink order. Once she took our order the food came out fairy quickly. After that she was back to ignoring us, this time hanging out at the counter talking to what I guess was part of the regular crowd rather then checking on her other tables. I will probably give this place another try at some point to see if the service is any better.

Other than diners, and one place in particular on Water Street, I don’t know many good breakfast spots near my hometown. I tried the Heritage on a whim. The coffee was good, not great, not memorable. The Sausage Benedict was very tasty. The home fries were ok but nothing special. Overall the menu and special items were appealingly creative and the quality was better than Denny’s. I’d go again but I wouldn’t go out of my way to do so.

A typical coffee joint. Menu is limited bit they breakfast all day. I had the omelette. Very filling. The bread was fresh and the home fries(red potatoes) were delicious. The service was quick and polite. Reasonable price.

I’ve have been to this place a few times over the years and after today’s experience I must warn people about 1. The terrible service of the waitresses. No personality, no inquiry about the food quality, SLOW coffee refills. 2. The cook takes slow to a new level. 45 mins for 3 people and simple breakfast food! The food was prepared differently than I expected and not enjoyable. I was not informed about this from the waitress. 3. The food is overpriced for what you get. The french toast is laughable. 4. I don’t know how this place stays in business. It’s attitude toward you is that serving you is a bother and I get this feeling from the whole staff there. McDonald’s had more personality than this place!

So yesterday we were«those people». We showed up 25 minutes before closing looking for burgers and fries. They were delicious AGAIN! Even after the hellish weather we have had our fair haired waitress and the cook looked tired but in good spirits. We chatted about how their food purveyors hadn’t come yet and Monday morning might be a challenge. I have to say the baked goods are delicious looking too. I can’t wait to try breakfast soon! Our burgers were cooked as ordered again and we both loved the bread and butter pickles. They have to be homemade. Consistency is what keeps us coming to the Heritage. We have also experienced nothing but pleasant attention. It could be because my husband and I believe that if you put on a smile you usually get one back. That does work most of the time :)
