I love this place! I have been going there since I was a kid. The owner is amazing and all the staff are extremely friendly, and on point with everything. They treat you like family there. The food is amazing as well :) This place is as good as it gets!

Lived in the area many many years but never tried but after looking for somewhere new to us we tried it. It was very good, home cooking! Will definitely be back!

Decent hot dogs; bad service. I was very thirsty when I got there. I ordered a water to start and received a very small cup. I drank that in three seconds flat, and never got a refill. The waitress came back to take our order. I got two hot dogs with toppings, my boyfriend ordered two with ketchup only and french fries. Mine came out correctly, but they put two chili dogs with onions in front of my boyfriend. I kindly pointed out that he had asked for only ketchup; the waitress snarled and snatched the plate of food away without saying a word. We waited a few minutes for the correct order, no apology. Now, I’m thirsty again. I wanted another water, or a soda, or anything really! Tried to get someone’s attention… crickets. Our waitress was eating with another waitress at the end of the counter. I ended up finishing my boyfriends drink, also. Our waitress now gets up and I thought she was coming to check on us, but she went over to the cooler, grabbed a water, and started drinking it. That was it for me. All in all, the hot dogs were just okay and the French fries are not salted or seasoned whatsoever. Try Coney Island, or even better. Hot Dog Annies.

I went into Long Island today, I ordered a few hot dogs. One went down the wrong way I started choking and coughing. Not 1 person in this place not a customer or employee would ask if I was ok. People just don’t give a dam. Not 1 person gave a dam. I left and didn’t leave a tip… would not recommend!!!

mom loves this place for a quick go to cause its convenient to work. I could easily pass. the big breakfast consist of eggs, meat, toast, home fries, coffee and a tiny cup of juice. but for $ 6.50, i could get all that at other diners for $ 4…

I expected more from this place. you’d think that«dives» would be a good find but I may just be watching too much Diners, Drive-ins and Dives! I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was pretty flaky and didn’t taste all that great to my liking. I may try some breakfast items. maybe they are much better than the entrees.

My girlfriend and I frequently find ourselves here when we need a quick meal before going out for an evening, or a sit-down lunch between Saturday errands. It’s located in a little strip mall not far from Webster Square, just before the Leicester line. Service here is always excellent. The waitress always stops by to get us drinks almost immediately, and takes our order within five minutes. It’s a family-run place, and there’s always plenty of helpful staff ready to get what you may need. I usually get the cheeseburger plate or a breakfast omelette and am never disappointed. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is sort of a step above the diner experience, in that you get more elbow room, and less noise ‘n’ chaos. Prices are reasonable for everything, too.

If I am in Worcester for hot dogs, I am going to my favorite dive hot dog place … but we were on the grand Worcester hot do tour, so we bopped in here to try what they had to offer. They had a special of two dogs, fries and drink. They were good dogs and the fries were crispy goodness, but for $ 6 I think it was a meal value. It is just not worth another trip here.

My grandpa used to always take me here as a child, and after finally re-visiting it 10 years later, I will definitely make it a go-to place. The tuna club is absolutely delicious, and the Johns Special is a great price and very tasty. Four people ate lunch there for $ 33.00 — you really can’t beat it. It’s a great hole-in-the-wall place.

This was a «must» on our hot dog tour of Worcester. The hot dogs are OK here. Not very expensive but also not large by any means. I got one long island and one with mustard & relish. Although I wouldn’t consider this a must for my next visit, I’d try it out again if I lived closer. They do make a mean chocolate milkshake and it’s not a «$ 5 milkshake» — it’s only $ 3.70.

I was on my way out of Worcester when my four year old said she was hungry and wanted a hot dog. This was the closest place, so we stopped in. While I had planned on take out, she insisted on having a seat at the counter. In spite of the fact that I had been here a few times, this was the first time I had ventured past the cash register. I had never realized how big the dining area was. There was nothing fancy about it, but it was very clean. We were there around two on a Wednesday afternoon, so there was no wait and plenty of wait staff available. We split a Jon’s special, and there was plenty of food for the both of us. Now that I’ve had a chance to see their menu and seeing what my fellow Unilocalers have had to say about their food, I plan on stopping in for a meal.

this place is pretty, pretty good. although the name suggests otherwise, they do serve an amazing assortment of breakfast food all day. the bacon is super crispy & the french toast is extra fluffy. as for the non-breakfast selections, it’s pretty kick-ass as well. their hot dogs(no shit), cheeseburgers, soups, and sandwiches are also quite yummy. oh and the coffee mugs are so comfy & warm. go there.

You’re not going to be dazzled by presentation but the food here is really good and crazy cheap. I don’t eat hot dogs but if I did I’d go with the John Special which is under $ 6 and a full meal with fries. I usually get either the tuna sandwich or the turkey club and I’m always happy.

It was just as expected. Nothing fancy, nothing off the hook. Just perfectly good hot dogs. Got the«John’s Special» — $ 5.70 for 2 hot dogs ‘all the way,’ fries, and a beverage. For the same cost of a value meal at many fast food joints, this was fantastic. Fries were very good, too. If I were to get take out, they had a special for three dogs for $ 3.80. Good, fast service. Meals that other diners were having(a fair amount for a random Tuesday night, I might add), looked like generous portions of tasty food. Only slight challenge was locating it in the strip mall — some of its neon lights were out and we had to do a slow drive-by to finally find the place.

Woah! Well, here’s another Worcester favorite of mine and my friends. Long Island Diner is a VERY casual affair. It certainly doesn’t get points for atmosphere or décor — but that’s not the reason for going to the LI in MA. This place has a great diner menu, and rather interesting specials every day, such as Swedish meatballs. I’ve been tempted to order a special, but I’m usually there for breakfast. Their omelettes, regular breakfast plates, even burgers and sandwiches are solid. Their milkshakes are perfect for me — not too thick that you can’t drink it and chocolaty enough to make it last for less than five minutes! The price can’t be beat. It’s very reasonable for the amount of food. Three to four people can eat there for under $ 40 total, depending on what you order. This place gets three stars, partly because it isn’t exactly the nicest looking greasy spoon, and also the service can be a bit slow. You get over that part quickly once the order is done, but don’t expect too much service, especially when the place gets busy on the weekends.
