OK… the sliced pork was tough and dry [I didn’t eat all of it] and the sweet and sour fried pork [pigs feet] was tough as old gum [albeit all Chinese restaurants lately mostly serve tough pigs feet fried pork]…the chow main wasn’t just noodles and onions, it was dried noodles with the bean sprouts and celery, etc…[the old fashion recipe and much tastier!]. The fried chicken was meaty. The price with soup was $ 10.50. Lots of retired folks eat there for their $ 8 lunch I wonder why? LOL The service was friendly. Beats the buffet for original recipes.

Had a lovely meal with my daughter, served by a great waitress(Joan)! Egg flower soup was tasty. Potsticker sauce was quite salty, but fair w/a spicy kick. Went outside my box and had scrambled eggs with shrimp. What a nice change of pace! Loved the tea and was able to purchase a box before leaving. The interior was typical of a dated Chinese restaurant, but we didn’t go there for the décor. We had a great meal with even better service!

Filthy. We have been residents of Auburn for 30 years. Carpets have never been updated. Bathrooms are filthy. Food is negotiable if you can get past the filth and clientele. When is the owner getting carpet? I keep hoping.

I am 49 years old and have been coming here for as long as i can remember… middle dchool maybe? Had my engagement dinner here back in 1990… this has forever been our familys go to chinese… still going here at least once a month. never a bad meal or unfriendly service… never gotten sick from it… dont drink so no comment on the strong drinks.yes.the place needs a good makeover. got new front doors… those are ugly. just horrible.but strong steel. ya problu cuz its in a bad part of town. but i miss the wooden doors. they were charming. Have often wondered who was here first. red lotus or the funeralhome. or the animal hospital.haha.all have been here just as long as me… people joke about the restaurant being in the middle. makes for a good laugh… and u will find your local depressed lonesome people in the back. bar…but up front its old school yummy chinese food.

We met friends here for dinner hoping we had found a place for Chinese. As other reviewers have stated the interior is in need of replacement. The food is standard run of the mill covered in thick sauce, like many other«Chinese» restaurants, it must all come from the same can or frozen box. The wait staff was doing there best and we were served quickly and courteously. We would not go back based on the dirty rugs and mediocre food. A place that run down makes you wonder what is happening in the kitchen. I am assuming it must be really strong drinks served in the bar that keep people returning.

Expensive food, and a little disturbing to eat at a place between the funeral home and a veterinarian hospital.

The service here sucks. Food is mediocre. Came for dinner. The place was not full and it took at least half an hour to have our order taken. First the waitress for got my wine. Then our order was wrong. The waitress was rude and so was the hostess. I can’t believe this place was ever voted best in Auburn. Interior is filthy and dusty and the carpet is disgusting, looks like it hasn’t been cleaned EVER. DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACE!!! DON’T DOIT!!!

Food is really good. The place is absolutely disgusting… The carpet looks like it’s about 30 years old. The service here tonight was horrendous. The blonde manager was seriously the rudest woman I’ve ever dealt with. She would walk away immediately after dropping something off without asking if we needed anything else. We waited 30 minutes for our tab, in which I had to get up and ask her for it. She said she’d get it, then she disappeared without giving us the tab. It was extremely frustrating and disappointing. The food isn’t worth dealing with the awful service. Won’t be coming back.

My husband had been getting take out from here for years. He retired and we missed the food so we went in person. I happen to like the food. But the place is a dump. Really shabby and just not as clean as you’d want. The carpet is a nightmare. The waitress made a mistake and brought Sweet sour chicken instead of pork. She admitted her mistake made a quick joke and said she’d make up for it the next time we were in… We went back one more time had the same gal. She remembered us and her mistake and that was the last we heard from her. Not going back.

For the location being between a vet clinic and funeral home, it is good food and friendly staff. The décor needs a major update but overall I will come back.

Love this place The interior is the same as it was when I came with my father and now I come with my trip grandchildren been coming for years and have never been disappointed the Kung pow chicken is the best ever, spicy but they tell you so… The general Taos chicken is a tasty treat(get the bone in .a little more work but the flavor package is WOW) my mouth is watering while I’m even talking about it but my very favorite has always been the Fried rice nobody does rice like the red Lotus ! I love it. All their dishes are a fun experience and generous portions for the money spent we order dinner to go and pack this with us when we go to Olympia and visit friends who are missing the red Lotus because they moved away. the drinks are quite stout and the waitresses friendly enough but I go there for the food and always yummy

My friend, my daughter and I had lunch there last week and right off the bat the older tall waitress was not very friendly. She was taking our orders and I had a simple question about substituting an item and she got snippy and replied, I don’t know what the price is and made me feel dumb for asking… she couldn’t check or ask? She just had a bad attitude all around and complained about being hot, busy and how customers keep changing their minds. Sounds like she has some personal issues. Plus, 2 out of 3 entrees came out cold. My moo-shu was good. Needless to say, we didn’t leave her a tip cause, she didn’t deserve one. Janice the other lady there is very friendly and accommodating.

Hands down worst chinese food I’ve ever had. Broccoli and beef had what looked and tasted like pork gravy on it, beef tasted very old. Kung Pao chicken was so beyond spicy it was not edible. I know it’s a spicy dish(my favorite chinese dish) but this was painful. Only part of dinner that was edible was the leftover white rice. Needless to say my husband, daughter and I left still hungary. Don’t waste your hard earned money on this place!

This place is the hardest hot and cold I’ve ever been to. Every time I’ve been, it’s been with my boyfriend’s family as it’s his mom’s favorite restaurant. Usually the service is decent, but this time it was pretty bad. We arrived and were missing 3 people in our party, and we were asked how many we had in our group. We replied 8, and the woman goes, «well I can’t even seat you right now, so…» And this was after we told her we didn’t mind waiting. So why the attitude? Whatever. Once we finally got seated, we got waters pretty quickly but we were told MULTIPLE times, «Oh, we’ll be right with you!» It was probably about 10 – 15 minutes before we ordered. My bf’s mom knows exactly what the order is each time(she orders big family orders) and she ordered the D dinner for 8 people — to which she got the response, «that’s a lot of food.» We assured her that we knew, and this is how we always ordered there. Once we got our food, we had to move plates around and keep a little tray at the side to hold a few dishes, and the waitress kept insisting on saying, «this is a lot of food,» in an annoyed tone. Like… We know. We know it’s a lot of food. We order like this every time, and we have a big group of people. Get over it. The rice they have is so good. The sweet & sour chicken, breaded prawns, and almond chicken are my favorite dishes. The establishment itself is really sketchy and I’m pretty sure half the people who go here are addicted to crack. I’m just being honest. It smells smoky, the floors are dirty, and the bathrooms are nasty. I scratched myself on one part of the metal door and I might have tetanus(just kidding, but who knows). The hot: good ass food, good prices. The cold: everything else. Proceed at your own risk!

Excellent presentation… We ordered the flaming platter BBQ everything. And it looks amazing but as soon as we bit into the food it was plain, no flavors. There was just one spring roll and the prawns were not as tasty. For entrees we ordered the General Tsao Boneless… but instead I got bone in. So basically wings with some sauce sprinkled on top. The Moo Goo Gai Pan is so plain that you can’t even eat it. The rice is neither steamed or sticky… The decoration though is amazing! You walk in and are amazed but then the food was not as great.

We tried this place for our Christmas Eve dinner and it was gross. The pork fried rice had pieces of pork the size of grains of rice. When I asked my server she informed me it was«pork shavings» and offered no resolution to my dissatisfaction. The chicken chow mein was soggy and tasted like it had been made hours(or days) before we ordered it. The egg foo young was cold. It’s obvious that nothing is made fresh. Avoid this place at all cost!

Friendly, fast and we quite enjoyed our House Dinner for two, however I had an MSG headache afterward. Not fun. Their deep fried batter was light and delicious though. I would go there again but would ask about the MSG in dishes and hopefully can order things without it in.
