I rarely give restaurants bad reviews. This is not a review on the food, it is a review on our experience on this particular day. It is Father’s Day, so Oliviana is packed with people, however, we ordered appetizers(salads) and had to wait over 45 minutes before we even got them. On top of that, we did not even have a chance to order our entrees in those 45 minutes. I am sure that the food here is delicious and the atmosphere is really nice for dates, but the kitchen needs to be better equipped to deal with busy days. By the time we got our tiny salads, we had no interest in waiting another hour for our food and ending up leaving. I honestly was excited to try this place and I am sure the food is really good, but our experience here was terrible from the moment we walked in. Aside from that, the staff that helped us was super nice and apologetic, but it did not take away from the fact that we were in the restaurant for an hour and a half and split 1 salad between us. Our waitress offered us free dessert and the host apologized many times. They even didn’t make us pay for the food, which I really appreciated. The problem seemed to reflect a lack of organization/preparation in the kitchen when it comes to busy holidays like Father’s Day.

Wonderful food and service. We went on Mother’s Day and it was very busy. As a result we had to sit outside. I was afraid our service would not be good but we were pleasantly surprised. Our server, Kat, made sure our drinks stayed full and checked on us appropriately. She made great food recommendations and we were all very pleased. One of my guests said the meatballs were the best he had ever had. My party had the spaghetti with meatballs, spinach salad, salmon, shrimp and pasta olivianna. All of it was fantastic. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. I will definitely go back. My only comment or warning is that it can be a little pricy. Salads, pasta, etc are all add-one to entrees. Expect to pay 25 – 30 pp before drinks or appetizers.

Oliviana’s always delivers a great experience. My friends and I do our«family dinners» together here because they have the space for larger parties. The pasta portions are always very impressive, but I am a much bigger fan of their pizzas. The Margherita pizza and the Olivana pizza are my favorites, though you can’t really go wrong with any of them. The cocktails are top notch and they usually have a decent selection of craft beers. The staff is quick and organized(even when dealing with larger parties) but remain very pleasant.

Great place — Service was excellent. Only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars was that the kitchen is really really fast. So much so your appetizers are out like you called ahead, a minute later your salads arrive and you barely get finished with those and the entrées are out — which can make you feel rushed. But that being said it didn’t bother me that much because I personally would rather have it that way versus sitting around wondering what is taking them so long. I had the veal parmesan and it was a huge portion and delicious. Price was reasonable for portions and quality as well.

Beautiful inside and out. Greeted as we exited the car & the young man held the door for us. Now that’s customer service. I was overwhelmed with the amazing customer service. Our table was ready for, which was expected, we had reservations My MCE ordered sausage nachos, lasagna, the portions were well worth the price and he enjoyed everything. As for myself, I wish there were vegan options. But, it is ok. I enjoyed my evening.

Great place for slightly upscale Italian food, but not so expensive that you can’t afford rent the next month. A small beer selection and a large wine selection. Our server was very attentive — she was friendly and kept up with us despite several other tables worth of responsibility on a busy Friday night. We made reservations for two, but in retrospect it was probably unnecessary; they were busy but not full. Crab cake appetizer was great and a pizza is plenty to split between two. The booths were spacious and comfortable, we easily could have fit five people in the booth we were seated in for two. There are a few TVs and a bar, but it is not a sports-bar type of atmosphere by any means. This is not my usual type of place but it is another well-executed restaurant to add to the list in the Surrey Center.

For 2 beers, 2 glasses of wine,(happy hour on the drinks) a crab cake appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert you will be looking at $ 80 with tip. The inside of the restaurant is really nicely done. They have a short wall as a divider from the bar area to the rest of the restaurant. I like the 2 person booths in the bar area as they allow you to hide away from the more family oriented dining. The server and bartender were attentive without being over the top. Happy hour specials are great so be sure to take advantage if you can. The crab cakes were ok, the 2 entrees we ordered were ok and the Tiramisu was really good. The loss of stars does has to do with the food. For the price paid for the food I felt the portions were appropriate but the taste wasn’t there. All in all the place is very nice with great service, great happy hour drink specials and good deserts. I like the place a lot and will probably be back but its hard to recommend the restaurant just on the dinner entrees and apps as they were just ok.

Tuesday night is the night for great atmosphere and buy one(draft beer or wine that is sold by the glass) and get another for a penny for yourself. this is not Über and you can’t split free, but if you are in a two drink mood and the most awesome $ 5 house salad near the hill(Surrey Center) you have to give this place a try. The manager(Tony) greeted us at the door and circled by to make sure everything was great. We ordered soup and a chalkboard special/extended menu. The flavor and overall presentation was great. Wait staff will bring you bread if you ask, and everything comes with a little soft bread and olive oil /balsamic vinegar for dipping. The customer base was diverse, not French Market-ish. There were some well-behaved school age kids with their family, no babies or toddlers — which is a good thing at the dinner hour for my palate.

I have not had anything here I did not enjoy. The pasta and pizza are amazing! Especially the carne pizza. Kids eat free on Mondays! They have a good brunch on Sunday’s too! Definitely check it out! Great atmosphere! Love the way it is decorated, and perfect for a date night with your spouse or to bring the family for dinner together!

The first time we came was a lot better. I did try the tomato bisque soup this time and it was really good, the bread served with it was dry and forgettable. I wasn’t starving so just had the soup and the stuffed mushroom appetizer. I’m not sure what I was expecting with the stuffed mushrooms, but it wasn’t what I got. I got one average to maybe slightly bigger than average mushroom for $ 8, which I think is kind of expensive. The flavors didn’t really compliment the mushroom at all and there were so many toppings(and served with quite a bit of greens underneath) the mushroom was hardly even noticed, when it should have been the highlight. They were also out of not one, not two, but three of the drinks I tried to order. To end on a positive note, we tried the calamari and it was really good. I love seeing how everyone does their own spin on it and theirs has a bit of a kick, which was really good.

I’d probably have rated Oliviana higher, except for a situation that still has me annoyed about it. My boyfriend and I ate there this past Friday night. I had the Pasta Alla Bolognese($ 16) and he had the Linguine Pescadoro($ 26). My dish was fine, the sauce seemed homemade, and the dish was a good portion. His was okay, extra thin sauce, not enough noodles, skimping on the value. We also had the bruschetta for an appetizer, which was good. What got me irritated was the sign as you come in the door. It listed the promos for each day of the week. Under Friday, it said, «Complimentary Sangria for Ladies.» Nowhere did it say a specific time, or other information. So, I ordered the sangria, but when we got the bill, it included a $ 7.50 glass of sangria that I didn’t enjoy. When I asked the waitress, she clarified that the free drink was only from 10−11pm, although it didn’t say that anywhere. A good server would have taken it off our bill, because it wasn’t advertised appropriately. Everything was overpriced so I doubt we will revisit this place.

Talk about disappointing. We didn’t intend on going here, but our desired place was closed and they were not, so we went here for a light dinner. Got two appetizers: mussels and a stuffed mushroom. The former was ok, nothing special but passable, a basic tomato sauce with steamed mussels in it. The latter was quite bad, though, far too salty and simply unappealing. It was a 3 star review at that point, but the tiramisu was one of the worst I’ve ever had, far too sweet and tasting more like a piece of vanilla cake. Blah. Bad meal.

I had a special called Pasta Portofino. It had penne, big delicious shrimp, scallops(they were the small ones, it would have been better with the large scallops), I think there were some crawfish and crab too. It was in a light cream sauce and you could really taste the seafood. I paired it with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and it was a perfect match. The fresh French bread was soft and warm. Another very enjoyable meal. Be back soon.

My first experience at Oliviana was nothing to write home about. To be fair I have to give this restaurant another try. My visit was on Valentines day, for lunch, and it was not very busy the two servers were having a touch time keeping up with the small crow. I tried the meatball appetizer and the portabello mushroom. The dish was had good flavor but the meatballs were dry and slightly tough. The mushroom is large and very good. The atmosphere is nice and the view from the corner building is pleasant. Overall I am looking forward to trying«Oliviana» again.

Last night was my 3rd or 4th time coming here and I can’t find much to rant about. I’ve heard negative reviews before, but the only downside to me is the price but it really isn’t that bad for this type of restaurant. Maybe those with bad opinions came thinking Oliviana’s is more like Pizza Joint, as they have the same owner, but it is a totally different concept. It’s large and comfortable, very romantic and chic. I think it would be great for a date or a small girls’ night out. I have never seen it very crowded, which is probably good for us but not good for business. I’ve always received a good seat and good service. Last night, my friend had a picky pasta order. She literally invented her own dish, but they whipped it up and she said it was exactly what she envisioned. They have a Happy Hour from 5 to 7, which means BOGO house wine and well drinks. Last night, the chef greeted us at the end of our meal and offered us a free drink. Also, their tiramisu is the BEST I’ve ever had. We split the tab and my half included 2 crab cakes and 3 glasses of wine – with Happy Hour and our complimentary drink, my tab was only $ 17. Not bad!

The monthly wine tastings alone gives this place 5 stars from me. Nice selection of different wines with finger foods to go with it. Besides the wine tastings, the food is great as well. The skirt steak with rositto is one of my favorites. I haven’t checked out the dj after hours club atmosphere yet, but I’ve heard positive things about it. Overall, the wait staff and food is good enough to keep me coming back. Check out their fb page or website to stay aware of their wine tasting events!!!

Recently visited Oliviana’s for a wine tasting. I’d been meaning to make my way there, but finally the opportunity presented itself. After enjoying the various wines the restaurant were considering adding to the menu. I dined. I had the Stuffed Mushroom appetizer, which was very large. I’m not complaining though. I enjoyed it because of the ricotta and feta cheese. I’m a cheese fan. I also ordered a side salad that I was unable to eat because the Stuffed Mushroom was so filling. The atmosphere at Olviana’s is very nice. It’s laid back and upscale. I was surprised to see how many televisions they had in the space, but they are also a bar. I had a chance to meet a the Chef too. Oliviana’s has really great events too that you wouldn’t know about by just looking. They have a daily happy hour from 3PM-7PM. I’m also told by staff that they have DJ weekly. Overall, great service. Our waitress was so nice and came by at the perfect time. They also have wi-fi for guests. Yaay! The parking is easy too. I’ll be back to try more menu items, especially dessert.

This place was«ok». The husband and I went here for date night. The service was awesome. The food was decent. I got the Olivianas pasta. Which was tasty. The sausage was a little spicy for my liking… but it was good. It just didn’t knock my socks off. The husband got his usual… fettuccini Alfredo. He did live on the wild side a bit and got it with shrimp. He said his dish was alright. Just run of the mill pasta. I also got a drink. It was ok but tasted a lot like medicine. I was a little disappointed they didn’t serve any bread with their entrees. What Italian restaurant doesn’t have side bread? It was a little pricey and for the price, we might just go to Olive Garden instead.
