Great cheap place for kebabs. Everything I’ve tried has been good, especially their chicken. Service is a little slow sometimes but I think it’s worth the wait.

The food was tasty but it was more ‘gyro’ than ‘kebab’. I had a salad and some dolmas. My daughter had a gyro and my son and husband had a gyro plate. We ate up the food. It’s hard not to like a place that has fresh food. Seating is limited. They had 5 booths and 4 – 5 tables but the tables each had one chair. Weird. We were there at dinner time(Friday) and we were the only ones in there. Not sure if this place can survive like that. Austin has countless of similar ethnic eateries that actually HAVE kebabs so I’m not exactly going to run back. If I am in the area, though, and am craving gyro/salads, I would go back.

Came on lunch and waited 20 minutes to get food. Asked for hot sauce and they said it was in the pita, which is was not. Ordered hummus and did not get it. Never again.

This place is right around the corner from work and a go to place for me! I love their falafel and the veggies! I was brought tea the last time I was in, and it was just a nice gesture. I definitely recommend heading in for their pita’s and kebobs!

Kebab Time is a jewel in North Austin. The döner is delicious and surprisingly authentic! My friend and I both used to live in Germany and much prefer Kebab Time to Verts’s relatively tame and mild meals. The dolmas are also delicious and their Turkish tea is smooth. Cleanliness and openness pervade the whole restaurant. It’s bright and friendly like the staff. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good kebab or casual meal in the area

Located next to Thai Cuisine, this place has plenty of parking. Service: Ehhh… that’s all I’m going to say about that. Long wait times. One guy was really friendly but the other was not. Food: Decent food– I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of my beef/lamb burrito. Tzatziki sauce was tasty. However, portion/quality-wise…I don’t think it was $ 8 worth of food. Most of the advertised 12″ burrito wrap was folded in at the ends, so your actual burrito ends up being about 7 inches. For $ 6.50, I would come back, but probably not for $ 8. I also tried the baklava & falafel. I think the falafel was not my favorite… compared to Maoz, it lacked moisture and flavor. The baklava was very good though! I honestly wanted to like this place, I wanted to support a local business. But when it’s clear that the owners are more about the bottom line than about customer service, it’s hard to want to come back.

The food here is good for the price. We have only tried the chicken platter and it was decent and gracious portion size. The food could use a bit more flavor and seasoning in my opinion, but it is decent. All in all, I will probably go back to this place since it’s so close to me and they advertise gluten friendly.

First off, the service gets a 5! Super friendly and attentive staff. The good I was disappointed in. I ordered a sandwich with a beef/lamb mixture. It tasted more like a grilled meat, not the flavorful, tender combo I was expecting. And though the bun was toasted, it was a boring white bread sandwich bun. The bun did not hold up with the tasty tzatziki sauce or the fresh lettuce and tomatoes. That being said, my dining partner had a combo plate with rice and absolutely loved it!

It was OK. The Doner was served on a white sandwich bun with tzaziki. While the veggies were very fresh, the meat(I ordered«regular» instead of spicy) was quite bland. It didn’t taste anything like the Doner kebabs I got on the street in Munich. The staff are very nice, and the place is sparkling clean. Nicely decorated, too. I may need to try the«spicy» meat before my final grade for this place.

Honest and objective: Stay away! Pros: not really any. Free refills on sodas? Cons: Service is terrible. They forgot the fries that went with my order. They forgot to make our order spicy, which he specifically asked us. Food was bland. Boring and really not tasty or savory whatsoever. Lukewarm. Waiting for my fries. Still. We’re done with our food and still waiting for my fries. He said it’d be two minutes when I picked up my food and noticed there were no fries… and it’s been at least fifteen. Getting my money back for the combo. $ 2 back for a horrible experience. Gee thanks. We were wondering why there was absolutely no one in here when we walked in. Now we know. Avoid at all costs.

I ordered a chicken shawarma from here and was really disappointed. It had way too much sauce on it and very little meat. Service was ok but the environment was very clean. The only reason I will be returning is for the baklava, ITSTODIEFOR!!! It’s perfectly moist and very flavorful. At first we were shocked at the price(over $ 5 for two tiny pieces) but once we tasted it we immediately realized why. I’m tempted to go back right now.

Not bad… but nothing to write home about. It is fast food Mediterranean. Probably more like a 3.5 stars but the workers are really nice.

Ok, So I went into the restaurant thinking of shiskabob’s. I was totally wrong, but let me just say, I was pleasantly wrong. Kabobtime, as to be honest I was shocked, but was damn good. I have never had food from Turkey, but can say that these guys know how to make some damn healthy food. It’s funny, but they give it to ya all separated in its components, and separately its somewhat bland, but when you put it all together, it just combines so well with one another that it creates a flavor that is absolutely astonishing. The place was clean, and granted there wasn’t anyone in there, but then again it was the 4th of July on a Saturday. Either way, this was my first experience with Turkish food, and will be more than happy to stop by again. Trust me, I know at first you might question whether or not it would taste good if you combine the foods, but really that is how it was meant to be. The end result is absolutely amazing. The sauce by itself is kinda iffy, but combined with the meat and vegetables, oh and some spicy sauce it is absolutely amazing. Cant say amazing enough. AMAZING!!! Also of note is that they mix it with American food like french fries, which by the way taste like the fries that Wendy’s used to make. They were damn good. I had to take 1 star off cause the ice machine was out of ice. That is something that should have been noticed to be honest. It’s not like there was a lot of people there, but the food was so damn good, that I would be dishonest if I did not give them at least a 4 star rating. If there are those that follow my Unilocal, you will know I am truly honest about places that I go to eat. These guys are seriously worth trying and are right next to Walgreens on Parmer Lane in that eatery shopping center.

Unimpressive, lousy food, service and atmosphere. I’m happy I ate here alone this one time. I’d be embarrassed to actually bring someone here with me. Does this particular store have a curse on it? Before it was«Pita House» which was run by a Greek couple and actually did a decent Gyro. Service and atmosphere was awkward as well but at least the food was good.

This place was super disorganized and the cashier was having a lot of trouble keeping everything in order even though there was only one other customer in the store. Also, I ordered hummus and it didn’t come with the pita like I expected it would. As well, my order was to go and it was apparently sitting out for several minutes before he came to get me and let me know that my order was complete. Lastly, the food wasn’t very good. I won’t be coming back.

Couldn’t think of a better way to spend lunch on a rainy Wednesday! The Pita Doner Kebab(lamb) was phenomenal. The pita was fresh, soft and moist. The tzatziki sauce was thick and creamy. My lamb was savory and spiced. Couldn’t be happier. Not to mention they serve FRESH homemade Baklava. #winning. It was outstanding.

I would call this experience a little below average, but I don’t know if it was bad enough to give 2 stars. The man serving us had no personality at all. It was a little odd because it was like he would walk past our table and overhear us saying something like, «We need extra napkins», and then he would bring us some without saying a word, put them on the table, and then walk away. Also, he didn’t offer us drinks or tell us that we could help ourselves to the water until he overheard us saying something about it. The gyro meat itself was good and tasted a lot better than the Pita House place before it. The veggies seemed fresh, but it would have been better if the cucumbers were cut a little smaller instead of whole slices. Also, this is a big pet peeve of mine, they didn’t put much sauce on it, and when we both asked for extra sauce, they never told us there was an extra 50 cent charge until I saw it on the bill. I believe you should always inform people if they are going to be charged more as a courtesy, even if the charge is minimal. The sauce was pretty unmemorable. Pretty much a very mildly seasoned yogurt. Also, they were out of baklava, which was frustrating. Since I was using a Groupon, I asked for a side of meat to equal up to the balance of the $ 20 Groupon and he hands me a bill for $ 24.50 and then seemed frustrated when I told him I didn’t want to spend extra, just get a little side to equate the difference. He said he couldn’t do that, but did give me a gift card to come back for baklava. That was the only time he smiled the entire time we were there. I thought my doner kabob(gyro) was decent. My mom got the wrap with lamb/beef and grilled onions, mushrooms, and peppers and didn’t really care for hers, though she didn’t hate it. All in all, the food was decent, but I don’t think I would go out of my way to eat here again.

We were happy to learn of this place especially since it’s more in our neck of the woods in North Austin. It is a nice, small and unassuming restaurant, nothing really too fancy, but then again, we’re there to eat some good kebab and we did! We both had the doner kebab with lamb and all I can say is that Vert’s lost two customers today :0 You don’t have the selection of what you want in the kebab but the bread and the meat were very tender. The chunks of meat with the tzatziki sauce, onions, tomatos and cucumbers were very tasty and we were both surprised of the size of it. Much more than we’d expected and I couldn’t quite finish it all(shouldn’t have had breakfast!!). We also ordered a side of fries, because we expected a smaller meal, and while fries are fries, these were good. Should have gotten the hummus though… next time! The man waiting on us was pleasant and was well versed about the origin of the food when we asked him a few questions about our lunch and other menu items. I will definitely be going back. The price is right, the location is easy to get to and the food we had was excellent. We’ll be trying the plate lunches next. PS, I could kick myself for not taking pictures but after it came to the table, by the time we realized we didn’t snap a pic, it was half gone!
