Grand Lux Cafe

I waited forever to be seated even though I turned in my buzzer right when it vibrated.
Front desk showed no concern.
Nobody cared.
Horrible terrible service.

The big negative for this great restaurant, is looking at my bar bill after being at that restaurant last night for a drink at the bar as I wait for my dinner companions to arrive.

So after seeing that, I called the restaurant, asked to talk to the manager,
I explain to him why I was seeing on my bill, that the computer was making a mistake, he was not interest to talk to me and told me to call back the following day and talk to somebody else.
If you follow the suggesting amount of $ for tip,
They are getting a very high percentage and generous tip
Our food was very good. For the food I give them 5 stars

The service and food was absolutely great! We went with two toddler boys the the waiter was very attentive, friendly and got everything right the first time. I would recommend this place to anyone. Huge selection

The drinks were ok. The appetizers were also just ok. The beet salad was terrible. The service was ok… I wouldn’t come back.

Ordered the grand calamari w/​shrimp and zucchini as an appetizer. It wad quite greasy and included two creamy sauces. A lighter sauce would have been nice to cut the richness.
Ordered the turkey sandwich. Was told they were out. Should have been notified immediately what items were unavailable. I then asked what else was unavailable. The server came back w/​a list of items. That’s unacceptable a customer should be notified ahead of ordering.

A waiter on training attended us and it was spectacular. We were given the choice to modify our food choices to our liking and he explained each entrée too us. We went for my mom’s Birthday on Veteran’s Day and they even surprised her with a Happy Birthday song out of no where. My sister who is a picky eater (only eats chicken tenders) ordered the recommended Chicken Parmesan Pasta and she loved it.

I forgot to tell you guys this Shit. Recently I came here for birthday dinner. I get here at 8 sharp for only them to tell me i had to wait for the rest of the party. WTF? is right! mind you, its storming outside and we didn’t get seated until 9:15, another what the fuck moment. The waitress had an attitude and was pissed because there were 20 of us. she rolled her eyes and everything. Its now 9:45 and the waiter comes from the kitchen and says «if you want dessert speak now because we’re closing the kitchen early due to the storm and we’re generating off of the Mall’s electricity» I said «how the hell you’re gonna to ask me about dessert when we didn’t even get the damn entrée yet» she says «it should be out soon». THE FOOD ARRIVED AT 10:12!!.This chick asks «do y’all want to-​go boxes because the restaurant is closing. Are you kidding me? I waited 2 hours for this food I’m gonna eat it here. I was livid! Never coming back unless you’re paying.

My aunt brought me here, apparently my aunt is way cool and hip to have this place as one of her top spots before me! Before looking at the menu she tipped me off to order the apple pie for dessert. Thinking dessert before dinner, now that’s my style! They apparently make it to order and its takes over 30mins so order it early! My aunt raves about the burgers but I went for the monte cristo and was glad I did. It was massive! Right about of grease to powder sugar ratio on the bread! They have skinny fries, my favorite! Similar vibe to Cheesecake Factory which is one of my favorites. Enjoyable to say the least. Now for the grand finale, apple pie baked to order and perfection! Worth it, every bite of it! I have to say I have given this place two chances n both times have failed my expectations miserably. The pasta I ordered was just bland no flavor. Could of went to publix and bought the classico alfredo sauce and it would have been better. The chicken that came out with my pasta was literally a quarter of a chicken breast. When I asked the server she just replied that is how it comes… Ok fine didnt want to make a a scene, just left after realizing she did not care about what I had to say. With that being said, I will never come back to this establishment.

Impressed today! I ordered a turkey and brie sandwich… Well VERY impressed. The «baguette» type of bred was incredible… Crunchy, fresh and tasty… Did make a positive impact on the sandwich… The turkey combined with the brie, slices of apple, some marmalade and greens gave it a very good balance. At the end a little to sweet, but ate it all… Very well done! My partners burger was also quite nice on the same type of baguette bread… Think it was a type of au jus burger… Tasty and well made as well.
Service was good even though the place needs more staff… What happened? Saving? This was not good… The place is clean, large, well located and as for food, quite good… Enjoy

Love coming to this place every time I visit Aventura! My favorite dishes are the Chicken Piccata with mushroom and capers also the Grand Calamari appetizer

Never a bad meal here. I almost always order a salad and they are always tasty. They have smaller salads and full size salads. I have a favorite from each. Small — Chili-​Lime Chicken Salad; Grand — Southwestern Salad.
Not the cheapest salad in town but tasty and fresh. It’s in the Aventura Mall so you can always go for a pre or post meal walk.

Similar to Cheesecake Factory buy I’d say it’s a bit classier/​more tasty. Larger portions, and prices aren’t bad at all… this location was connected to the mall and pretty convenient

I ate here while spending a day shopping in the Mall. I had a lunch special of a margarita pizza and a salad. I felt for what I got, it was just a little pricey. It was about $ 12, and should have been $ 9. But, it was good. The pizza had a delicious crust, and the salad was dark greens with some type of vinegarette dressing on it. I had ordered thousand island dressing on it, but either they don’t have that or they ignored the request. The vinegarette fine.
My friend had an chicken enchilada — without the chicken. It was a big platter of food and she said it was good. It came with the enchilada, rice and beans. The presentation was nice.
The service was excellent. The place was clean, and it was an overall good dining experience.
Now, let’s talk dessert. OMG, warm butter cake with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely the BEST. It’s small, but rich and enough for 2 to share. Very, very delicious!
This restaurant has the exact same décor as Cheesecake Factory. The menu is similar, but not exactly the same as Cheesecake.

The environment is very good, and it’s easy to compare this restaurant to the Cheesecake Factory mainly because they belong to the same company. I had a struggle to really find what to eat, because the menu is so big. However when we began to order I noticed that the menu isn’t carb friendly… you get bread and pretty much the whole menu is bread/​pasta! The food itself, a BLT with Avocado was tasty, but I’ve had better. The hummus appetizer was a great value. If I were at the mall again I’d prefer cheesecake factory, simply because it has the better menu. But I wasn’t displeased with Grand Lux either.

Decided to stop here for dinner after a Sunday matinée. There was less than a 10-​minute wait for a table.
Service:
We ordered drinks at the same time we ordered our meals. The first issue was that the waitress forgot to bring me my Stone IPA (btw, the other IPA choice was Dogfish 60 Minute). I had to remind her about ten minutes after I ordered and she admitted she had forgotten. She then got it in a few minutes.
She came to our table to tell us, «There was some trouble in the kitchen, but your food will be here soon.» It was good that she said something because we were starting to wonder.
Food finally came. After she dropped off the food and left, I realized she forgot to give me a steak knife for my top sirloin. That involved another few minutes to flag her down and request a knife.
Food:
I had requested a temperature of medium, but it was overcooked to at least medium-​well (zero blood, only a little bit of pink throughout). I had also requested mushrooms on the side, and they never came. My wife’s Pasta with Chicken, Sun-​Dried Tomato and Mushrooms were rather tasteless. We didn’t hate it, but we didn’t like it. It had very little flavor.
More Service:
We asked for a box for the tasteless pasta. She forgot and we had to ask again.
We have zero reasons to visit this place again. Enjoy your business from the Aventura Mall shoppers. Funny that Joseph A. brought up the Las Vegas Venetian Grand Lux in a recent review. I’ve had about five enjoyable dining experiences at that Grand Lux. I told my wife that I enjoyed the GL in Vegas because it was reasonably-​priced for quality food and good service. It didn’t translate for me here in Aventura, however.

3 stars people. The place was so luxurious and fancy. But I wish I could say that for the food and service. I ordered a chicken enchilada with mini tacos.
One issue was that the waiter did not give us the bread baskets. My group asked for them once we had discovered this problem. We also wanted to move a booth, but the waiter stalled and pushed the idea away with the words: would you like a refill?
The food was fine (Note «fine»). My chicken enchilada looked like it had been dumped in sauces, and had salsa and garnishes piled like a screwed-​up game of Jenga. The enchilada tasted ok though.
Overall, the Grand Lux café was pretty ok. :3

Love the décor! great place to have a drink or two or grab some dinner. Waiter was a bit slow considering that it wasn’t busy at. But overall i would return on next visit.

This place was awesome. We came at an odd time so it was not crowded. Our waiter «Shakuur» was awesome! We had good service and he was fun! Food was very good and fresh. Good selections of drinks and a large menu. Nice atmosphere! I would come back! Enjoy!
Came back the next day to see if it was still as good food, service and drinks… Yep!

We try and frequent non chain restaurants as much as possible but when we want consistency we come here. What do you get at these type of places? You get great friendly service and very good food. For many years I have been a fan of this establishment. The prices are reasonable, the food is very good, portions are huge, decent wine selection, nice cocktails in a nice atmosphere.
The décor is unique with lots of gold finishes and over the top architecture. My daughter and I came for lunch after doing some shopping and wow were we blown away. Our server was so attentive, he never missed a thing. Excellent personality that it made us want to go back and ask for him in the future. His name was Yovanny.
I chose the chicken club sandwich that came with avocado, bacon and lettuce with a very good sauce. The bread was toasted, everything was fresh and the fries were tasty. I forgot to ask for no bacon as I am not a fan but I was able top pull it right off, big huge pieces and they do not skimp on how many they put on the sandwich. My daughter ordered the lunch sized portion (funny it was huge) of Lemon Piccata Chicken and pasta. They have a special priced cocktail daily and this day was a Margarita so of course I had to try it. It was great.
Sad that the previous night we had spent a small fortune for dinner and had a terrible experience, yet we came here with tip for lunch paid $ 48 and it was far better. I am sure we will visit more often. At least here you know exactly what you are getting.
Oh and the desserts, oh my if you are a sweet fan you must check out their desserts. The menu is very large another plus in my book.
