Worst experience ever. Recommend to NOONE especially if you aren’t from the region. I am from the fingerlakes, niagara & Erie wine trail region. Trust me when I say there are so many options, leave this one out. To begin we were recommended to go there by one of the hotel staff. He is the brother in law of a server. We met him and made friends with him at the hotel we were staying at. We walked a good amount to get there, and got lost a couple times, it was an adventure for us to say the least. When we got there, we were so excited and shared our story as well as handed over our map with a note from the brother in law. Immediately this guy poured us a sample. I am going to be honest, the wine was not that good. We continued to taste one of each wine. Asked about the difference in west coast and east coast wines which the girlfriend of the server knew. Her name was Ashley and she was very nice and very smart. After trying all of the drinks he said if you buy a bottle of wine we can waive two of the samples. We were both confused as we didn’t even realize we were paying to sample and then I purchased a bottle out of respect. I was upset but accepted I as my own fault for not looking first and assuming it was like east coast wine tastings. We were having a great time and the server even wrote a note back to his brother in law. After getting the note back he asked if he could get us any other bottles and I said no thanks, but I will order a glass of the Pinot noir… He made a face and said unfortunately we think you have had enough, we are going to have to say no and you are going to have to go at this time… I didn’t argue and I hid my face and left. NEVERHAVE I EVERBEENSOPUBLICLYHUMILIATED!!! I cried when I got out because I literally felt rejected, confused, and like I did something wrong for being nice to everyone. I was so hurt and offended. Worst part is when He saw my face of shock he said he didn’t mean to offend me… Really… What did you think was going to happen… My friend said its just the west coast wine behavior. I think that is ridiculous if it is true. We were in no way drunk, but purely having a good time. DONTGOHERE!!! The poor reviews are just like my experience as well. Seems like it is more a club, and if you aren’t part of it, they want you out.

Very friendly staff. It was a fun experience. The décor was unique with all the bicycle art. Loved the gears on the tasting table. Very cool. Wines were drier than I prefer… but I prefer a little more fruit forward… just taste preferences that’s all. Still a fun, unique place to taste. One thing to note, my mom gets an inter-winery discount which means she usually gets the tasting fee waived. We went to five different tasting rooms and all of them waived the tasting fee for not just my mom but for me too — except here. They made it very clear that I had to pay to taste. That was fine but we also noticed at all of the places we went to the tasting fee was waived if you bought one bottle of wine — here you have to buy two bottles of wine to get your tasting fee waived. That seemed a bit steep.

No visit to Avila would be complete without stopping by Peloton for some delicious wine! These people eat, sleep, and breathe this stuff and it shows not only in their product but in everything from the experience to the décor! Awesome location, friendly staff, and phenomenal wines! My favorite is their Albarino! So crisp and refreshing on a hot summer day! Thank you Peloton! Until next time! :)

This place was lack luster, and difficult to get any service. I liked the décor, but I didn’t enjoy the service.

We were visited from Chicago after pulling off CA1. My wife and I enjoyed A flight of 6 Peloton wines. The Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir were especially noteworthy. Kara P. Was very knowledgeable and guided us through some excellent Edna Valley wine. Please stop here if you are in Avila Beach!

Let this be your only wine tasting of the day or the end of your wine tastings adventure, as the flavors are bold and you’ll be too distracted by the beach one block away to continue to any other winery. And why would you want to when you can try 6 wines at this tasting room?! The owner and staff are as passionate about bike riding as they are about their wine, so sit back and enjoy Peloton Cellars.

Very limited production, high quality wine served in the folksy ocean setting of Avila Beach by warm & welcoming hosts, Bill & Trish Kesselring & their staff. The tasting experience is relaxing, unstuffy & informative. Though our tastes run to the bigger, bolder reds, like their delicious Syrahs, Cabs, & Zins, as a result of Bill’s skill with their tasty Pinot Noirs we’re making more room for them on our menu. The rest of the offerings, both red & white, are worthy of note as well. For bicyclists they have some really sharp looking kits featuring the Peloton logo! Other interesting merchandise is available too. A must do part of any Central Coast visit for wine affiicianados!

one of our favorites during our self-guided wine tours. our hostess treated us like family. located just off the walking path in avila beach, it is a must stop. 10 $ tasting for 6 wines. excellent tastes on all fronts. lovely and bright tasting room. my only gripe… my wife bought me a cool t-shirt from them and the seams are already coming apart the first time i wore it… boo…and now we’re back in Phx, so it’s not like we can return it.

I’ve been there a few times and always loved it. Finally convinced my husband to join in on a Wine tasting afternoon and was very disappointed. We were there on a Saturday afternoon with a cop, e of friends and we chose different tastings. There was only one host working and she had some of her friends and boyfriend there. The boyfriend was drinking beer, which my husband wish he was also drinking. The host pay us very little attention and only served us 4 wines which she charged for full tasting. It was not cool at all. The room is great and they sell amazing lotions and also bike jerseys but the service was poor.

Such a charming tasting room. The location lured me in, but the kindness of owner and the giant classic bike hanging from the ceiling made me stay for a tasting. The owner shared all of her knowledge of their grape growing techniques which I had never heard before and was very entertained. My favorite wine here is the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, which took quite a bit of tasting to decide. After our tasting was over. I couldn’t decide which bottle to buy, so the owner opened several vintages of the Cab for my group to try so that we could compare them side by side. I’m a novice wine taster, and this was my first experience trying multiple vintages of the same wine at the same time, and I was so surprised by how each vintage has distinct flavors. I was so pleased by my experience at Peloton Cellars. I love their wine making philosophy and their love of cycling. Keep up the good work. I’ll be back to see you next year!

This is a great stop to relax in Avila Beach, a hidden getaway down a quaint New England style thoroughfare with peekaboo views of the ocean. Great wines and atmosphere and just steps from the Yacht club, Custom House and the new Ocean Grill for a dinner stop afterwards. With no corkage fee at Custom House, you can bring your favorite Peloton selection and enjoy it with dinner at no cost. Ocean Grill also currently carries the Peloton Pinot Grigio and Cab and the cost is not marked up, same price as what you would pay at this tasting room. Very fun and delicious options all around!

I have to say this is the first time I’ve been to a specific winery that only sells its own product. I’ve been to other places, but those were all different and varied brands. And I really enjoyed this experience. I still consider myself very new to wine, so the intimidation factor is still high for me when it comes to visiting such places. However, the staff was friendly and helpful. This visit It was made even more memorable because I watched the staff secure their upcoming new win in plastic seals. I never knew how they did that until this visit. The wine tasting a fun experience as well and we ended up buying a few bottles to take home with us.

Great tasting room on the Central Coast and the only one on the beach. Owners take pride in the production and the vibe at the location. Excellent varieties but more important you’ll have a fun time here. Lot’s of locals and always interesting people to talk to.

Loved this place! The owners were there, serving, and could not have been friendlier. We got to taste at least 8 wines(my memory is fuzzy) and we walked out buying a couple bottles each. They’re reasonably priced if you ask me – $ 25-ish per bottle. I would definitely come back here. They have a really good vibe.

Just what California needs, another winery. That said, we can always use an excellent one, and Peloton qualifies as just that — excellent. Their tasting room has only just opened, but they’ve been around for a while. Tasty zins, an outstanding Diamond Jem cab, and a nice chewy syrah all kick serious arse. But man, their Criterium… While a bit spendy, is absolutely amazing, and stacks up against other notable blends like Seghesio’s Omaggio or Justification from Justin. Well worth a stop down in Slo Town.
