I see Monica for facials every now and again. She is AWESOME and I am totally in love with the skin care line that she uses. She described it to me as «food for your face.» Monica is a practiced professional. She will ask you what your concerns are with your skin so that she can customize your experience for your needs. She is more than happy to chat if you like but is also happy to let you fall asleep or enjoy some time to yourself with your thoughts if that’s what you want. I always leave feeling refreshed and my skin looks and feels marvelous after our visits. Money well spent for the relaxation and «face food» :)

The ladies at beach hair studio are truly amazing! We walked into a warm friendly welcoming and got started right away even though we were super early, they were ready for us! Marlee did our updos & Hanna did our airbrush make up. We couldn’t have asked for better artist! So friendly & fun. Loved the experience and can’t help but to admit we were the best looking gals at the wedding. Wish we lived closer to make this our regular salon! Seriously amazing ladies. Thank you!

I had an amazing experience here! Marlee helped me achieve a beautiful updo for a wedding I was in. I was in an out in an hour. Marlee really knows what she is doing, you can tell she has a passion for this! My hair lasted until the wee hours of the morning! I can’t express how happy I was with my whole experience!
I understand that you may be thinking hmm, what a glowing review, is it true. Yes it is! If I could find any fault I would have to say that I thought the price for an updo was a little steep but my hair certainly looked like a million bucks when Marlee was done so I guess it was worth it :)

I was visiting Avila last weekend for my brother’s wedding and therefore was not familiar with any hair stylists in the area. My sister and I both decided to get haircuts even though it’s a little risky when you’ve never seen the stylists work. All in all, both of us were very pleased with the results. Both the haircut and the blow dried style (which lasted from my 9am appointment to the 5pm wedding) were on point. I had my hair done by the owner Maggie, who was both talented and a pleasure to be around. My sister had a different stylist (also starts with an M, but can’t remember the name) and she gave the same type of review. Both of us would go back to this salon without hesitation if we ever are back and in need of a hair cut or style.

Normally I don’t like to leave negative reviews. But as I have emailed the studio and have received no reply over the past week I thought it was important.
I had my wedding a couple of weeks ago and our hair was completed by Maggie (the owner). I had heard and read good things, but was completely surprised when she came in the day of the wedding and was not very pleasant. The bridesmaids were upset with their hair and asked for some fixes, Maggie did not seem to want to fix or assist with the changes which had the girls very disgruntled. My mom had her hair completed in less than 20min, and two and a half hours later it had all fallen out (my sister re-​curled her hair prior to the ceremony).
I also asked for changes to my hair and Maggie refused saying my hair would «fall down» even though I insisted that it was too high on my head and did not appear like our day of trial. Maggie was more than happy to tell some of the bridesmaids about her prior event with «famous individuals». Seems like we were not top priority.
Maggie also came in about 30 minutes later than makeup and left over an hour before our makeup stylist left. We all have bad days, but this was a HUGE moment in my life and I would have expected more courtesy and assistance with concerns.
I would not recommend Maggie for a wedding day hair. All in all she spent about 2.5 hours with 6 girls and hundreds of dollars were spent. Not happy At all with the services.

I have been coming here since I moved here three years ago. Maggie is great! People always tell me my hair looks great. The atmosphere is relaxing and pretty. The entire staff is wonderful and happy to please!

Natalie Spencer at The Beach Hair Studio is absolutely AMAZING!!! I have been getting my hair colored and/​or highlighted for almost 20 years all over the state of California, and out of all that time I have not come across a stylist who is as consistently skilled and talented as she. I have been going to Natalie every 6 – 8 weeks for 6 months now, and I could not be happier. My hair is long, thick, wavy, coarse, and about as frizzy and unruly as it gets. Every stylist’s nightmare, I’m sure. But she tames the beast like no other! I walk out of there feeling like a million bucks every single time. For all you gals that have had hit or miss experiences over the years like I have, give Natalie a shot! I PROMISE you won’t be disappointed. This place also offers the best blowout I’ve ever had. A little pricey, but worth every last penny. As a side note, ALL of the stylists at The Beach Hair Studio seem awesome from what I’ve seen, so you’ve got nothing to lose. Highly recommended!

The Esthetician Lucinda Lattimer is Great. I had a wonderful experience there. She gave a awesome facial. Beautiful location.

Amy Maggipinto is simply the best of the best! She has been working her artistic magic on my hair for the past four years. Random people come up to me on a regular basis to tell me how much they LOVE my hair! I handed her a picture of the precision cut I wanted, and she made it happen with ease. For precision cuts, color, and styling, Amy is my hair artist! The Beach is a lovely studio with great energy and a beautiful view, although I’d follow Amy anywhere!

Alisha is amazing! I have long blonde hair and she gave be the perfect cut that has made my hair feel full and healthy while keeping my length. Th color is gorgeous a perfect honey blonde that shines. Alisha is also extremely kind and professional. If you’re looking for someone new she is your girl!

Finally got in contact with Krista, I’ve been wanting to go bold and just chop off all the processed dead ends. (Usually play it safe and keep the length long) I must say, I knew she could do it because I’ve seen what she could do and had to literally follow her to Avila to get the job done. Definitely will be back for future maintenance/​new do!

Amy rocks!!! Amy has been doing my hair for the past 15 years and I have followed her wherever she goes, including traveling 4 hours from San Francisco just to guarantee some fabulous hair. She is simply that GOOD! The Beach Salon, I must say however, trumps the rest. With its ocean views and comfy charm, it’s like icing on a cake to an already amazing and dedicated hairstylist. Amy takes pride in her work and is a true artist who will never disapoint!

Sandra Sapone is the hairstylist extraordinaire! I’ve been getting my hair done by her for about four years and she never ceases to amaze me with her natural talent! She’s done some intense color corrections on my blonde hair when it had been ruined by other hairstylists, and after all the work she did at making my blonde perfect I switched over to red and am in love. Her colors never fade and she can trim off all the dead ends without taking off any length-​gotta love that! Plus my cut can just air dry and it’s perfect! Sandra is hands down the best hairstylist I’ve ever had– go to her!

If you’re looking for a GREAT haircut & color then Amy is your stylist! I’ve been going to Amy for over a year and she is terrific! I especially love the way she cuts. . my hair is shoulder length and she is great at adding in some subtle layers to make it fall just right! She also stays up to date on the latest products and styles which is great too! I highly recommend Amy!

Now this deserves a review I have to admit im one of those people who Unilocal all over the country just to try new things yet NEVER leave any comments for some reason. well here I go for the first time leaving a review because I feel this time I can’t pass it up. I came into the salon after stumbling upon it on Unilocal still not knowing what I was getting myself into I walked in with long hair and decided to chop it off into a bob/​pixie cut now of course with these styles you cant just walk into any salon and expect results .well for me that was the case I knew as soon as I seen amy I was in great hands she just understood me from the beginning and made me feel at ease she definitely worked her magic we laughed and talked the whole time as if we had knew eachother I have never been happier I am just in awe of my new hair cut I will definitely be a regular here and wont be letting my hair grow back any time soon :) thanks again doll!!! #ilovewine

Now just to be clear why Amy didn’t get five stars is due to the lack of a tasty beverage. Call me a snob but I enjoy a nice glass of wine or iced tea with my $$$ haircut. Overall Amy is as they get! I drove 5 hours to have her do an extreme make over. I freaking couldn’t stop smiling after leaving the salon.

My 8yr old daughter Cia and I came in yesterday for a manicure and pedicure while on vacation in Avila and what a treat it was! I never do these kinds of things for myself, let alone for my daughter and she had requested this as bday gift, something we could do together. We got Angela and boy we absolutely adored her! She was very kind and patient with Cia answering her many questions while doing quick work on her hands and feet but a beautiful job with flowers, sparkles, the works. Angela saw my daughter getting squirmy while doing my manicure and offered to let me leave and bring her back to my husband at the hotel so that then I could return and enjoy mine. And enjoyed, I did! She did a wonderful job, so relaxing while it felt like catching up with an old friend! Such a sweetheart, I took her card and when we come back to town, I’ll be sure to request her. Thank you so much! PS The salon is absolutely gorgeous with it’s airy beachy theme. I even picked up a pair of beautiful wood earrings that will forever remind me of my trip to Avila Beach.
