Party of 17 with reservations, Thirty minutes till seated, 15 more till we saw a waitress = we were there forever! Thank goodness we were in good company. All of the portions are ginormous so you better order something good! We really liked the fried cauliflower and calamari appetizers. Here’s a smattering of our sampling. Their red sauce was enjoyed by all. Ravioli special was veg stuffed so a vegetarian ordered it but it came in a beefy broth, the pasta was quite al dente Manicotti very good, not overwhelming thick with a good portion of cheese inside, delicious sauce Cacciuco reportedly good, looked really heavy on imitation crab Eggplant parmesan large thick slices of eggplant Veal picatta reportedly delicious Filet 12 oz cooked well to order Chicken parmesan fried crisp yet moist, large portions Fettuccine Alfredo buttery, creamy but not too flavorful on the cheese front

Was really looking forward to going here a few weeks ago for my birthday dinner. I have driven past this place for years, and it looks to be busy most of the time, so I had high hopes. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. There were 3 of us and we ordered Steak, Lasagna and the Lobster ravioli special. The steak had so much grizzle we took it home to the dog, the lasagna was luke warm and swimming in a sea of spaghetti sauce that tasted more like chef boyardee than«authentic» Italian sauce, the lobster ravioli was decent but also luke warm. When we told the waitress we weren’t happy, she sent over the manager who was very aggressive and blamed us for not telling him! We notified the waitress the first time she came over, which is what you are supposed to do… as a customer, I was shocked that we were being blamed! We weren’t looking for free meals, but when you spend 70+ dollars you expect things to be decent or correct the problem. He sent the waitress back with a 15 dollar gift card(not even enough to cover 1 meal). I explained to the waitress we will not only never be back so unfortunately the gift card will go to waste.

A nice family restaurant, new, tastefully done. Prices are very fare and the food is awesome! Had reservations down the street at Northshore and walked out. Found this gem! Thank for your crappy service Northshore!

Good basic Italian restaurant. Been going for years and enjoy the consistent good food, huge portions and great service. The tired and worn look is gone thanks to a recent remodel, so the décor is quite pleasant and comfortable. Appetizers are my favorites. Cauliflower Fritters, stuffed artichokes and artichokes French are all delicious. Large and varied main menu offers something for everyone and a good place to accommodate the young and old in your family. It’s our standby birthday dinner restaurant for the family.

I recently visited Fratelli’s for a family dinner. My dad had wanted to try them again since they’ve done some remodeling, and the location is close to my sister. I thought the location was good. There is ample parking. The renovations are nice — but it doesn’t feel like fine dining… it’s more like your rich cousin’s super nice kitchen. At least that’s how it felt. A word of warning on rainy days — the flooring can get a little slippery. So just watch your step especially on the stairs. Here’s a run down of the food: We started with Calamari and Stuffed Shrimp for appetizers. While I did enjoy the calamari, the shrimp were«eh» for me. But the calamari with the olives and peppers was a tasty treat for me… tentacles and all. I ordered a side salad with my dinner — oil and vinegar on the side — dressing the old fashioned ways. It was balsalmic vinegar I think. It was good. I sampled my husband’s italian wedding soup. For me it could have done with a little more salt, less chicken, and more meatballs. For my main entrée, I ordered a half portion of the red clam sauce. This was my mistake. Not only was the portion ridiculously huge, I was not a fan. When I think Red Clam Sauce, I’m expecting more of a manhattan clam chowder flavor. This was too tomatoey-sweet, and I’m just not a fan. I think I should have gone with the Cacciuco — my sister’s tasted delicious. I only managed to eat the clams and then sent the rest back without being wrapped to take home. My husband ordered the lasagna special. It was a gigantic portion. But it was swimming in sauce. If there’s one this I don’t enjoy about lasagna — its a soupy lasagna. But he seemed satisfied. There was literally no room for dessert after the amount of food we had prior to the main course. I suppose that’s a really great deal if you consider how much food you can take home and have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the following day. Service was a little slow. Some in our party didn’t mind it, but I was about ready to eat my arm off when we got there and getting drinks ordered, then eventually appetizers, and our meals was a little longer than I would have liked. But at least I could enjoy the time with some good company :)

A friend of mine took me to Fratelli’s for dinner. He had eaten here in the past and knows he can get spaghetti with garlic and oil, it’s the only thing he ever orders in an Italian restaurant. I’m a little more adventurous. I ordered the Veal saltimbocca, sautéed escarole, prosciutto ham, olives and mushrooms in a chianti wine sauce. It also came with a nice house salad. It was all just OK. The veal was over cooked and while the chianti wine sauce was good, there was much too much of it. Like everything was swimming in chianti wine soup. The side of pasta was nothing to write home about. The red sauce was a little bland. I must say the portions were generous. They don’t serve espresso so we skipped dessert. The place also looks tired and dated. Our waitress was very attentive and kept my water glass full. Would I go back? Only if I had too, like when I’m traveling with someone else who only orders spaghetti in garlic and oil. Guess you can’t screw that up too badly.

If you’re looking for ambiance then this is not the place for you . The portions are Huge and reasonably priced. We didn’t want dessert or coffee and our dinner for four without tip was .$ 96 which included a $ 21 bottle of wine. This seemed to be a popular neighborhood establishment.

Worst meal ever! LONG wait, even the waitress commented on how long the kitchen took to make our meal. It was our anniversary and the manager tried to make it right when my chicken French came out looking like 2 pieces of meat floating in French onion soup — so gross! Proceed with caution and I hope you have a better experience than us. We left without eating a meal for our anniversary!

My wife and I visited Fratelli’s for the first time last night for dinner and the best word we can use to describe the experience is PERFECT. The atmosphere is cozy, the help is very professional without being stuck up and the food defies description. Not that my wife and I are fine diners by any means, but we can usually nitpick and find a couple things to complain about, even at our favorite restaurants. Fratelli’s, however, gave us nothing to work with in this regards, absolutely perfect. We arrived a little after 7 and were pleased to see some cars in the parking lot but not a crowd outside. We were seated right away in the very homey, albeit dated, dining area. If you’re looking for a place to sit and feel like a big shot, this is not it. If you’re looking to have a meal in your imaginary italian grandma’s dining room, this is more the fit. We started with the fried calamari, which was incredible. Both my wife and I are big calamari fans and almost always order it as an appetizer when eating Italian. We both agreed this is the best calamari we have ever had. The texture and consistency of the pieces were unlike anything either of us have tried, they had the perfect middle ground between rubbery and mushy. It came with a bowl of thin red sauce that was equally delicious, subtle enough to let the calamari flavor be the main event. For our entrée’s my wife had the Italian Trio(Alfredo, Ravioli, Chicken Parm) and I had a plate of Lobster Stuffed Ravioli’s off the specials menu. My entrée was not actually intended to be an entrée, but was a special appetizer that day. Sensing my disappointment that it was just an app and not a meal, the waitress immediately went to the kitchen to ask if he would prepare it as a dinner for me. The answer was yes and I tell you I could not be more thankful because these Ravioli’s were out of this world! I really wish I had taken a photo of this plate because it was heavenly handmade pasta, stuffed with chunks of lobster and covered in a white cheesy seafood sauce. While I’m sure I would’ve been happy with just about anything on the menu, it was because of the awareness and great service of our waitress that this experience was even made possible. Compliments to chef as well of course! I brought one home for the babysitter(Grandma) and upon tasting it she said, and I quote«I have never tasted anything like this in my life, it’s incredible». My wife’s plate was similarly awesome, we both looked at eachother in dismay when her plate was dropped on the table because this thing was HUGE. The portions of each the ravioli, pasta and chicken parm could’ve served as meals on their own and needless to say we brought the majority of it home. Being fiends for Italian food, we have obviously had these items from countless other places but there was something distinct about the flavor. Also, none of the sauces were overly sweet, which I find to be the common trend with italian these days. We finished the night at the bar for a drink where the bartender could not have been more enjoyable. We had a enjoyable and casual conversation for a half hour or so before heading on our way, containers in hand. It is somewhat of a rare occasion for us to have the night to ourselves and I could not imagine a better experience for such an occasion. This is my most lengthy review but I feel I could go on and on about the experience we enjoyed last nite at Fratelli’s. I hear they get very busy on the weekends so you may want to make a reservation to be safe, but if you can make it you definitely should. While I have only visited once, I can safely stake my name on this place, its AWESOME!

Went there on a spur of the moment thing, and boy color me surprised. The food was absolutely delicious. It’s a bit pricey, but adequate for the homemade food and the portions are huge. You definately get more than what you paid for and you can’t beat how good the food was. The place is a bit small, therefore you’ll be sitting pretty close to your neighbor, but that’s ok. We certainly had a nice conversation going back and forth, as well as discussing different plates. Will definately do again.

I’ve been to Fratelli’s on numerous occasions, and the service has been exceptional every time. The staff is pleasant and accommodating and the food is the best around. I’ve never left there hungry, and commonly with a to-go box. The wines are fantastic, the portions are huge, and the prices are comparable to the Italian chains, though that’s about the only similarity. I would recommend a reservation, as I’ve never seen Fratelli’s on a slow night. That alone should speak volumes on the quality. Fratelli’s is definitely worth going out of the way for a great night out.
