Big 5 Sporting Goods

We went in today to purchase a raft to head to the Salt River with. My wife had noticed that there was a sale on the couples rafts here. We went in and asked the girl behind the counter if many people used this particular raft for the Salt River and she said «yeah» and turned away from us. We purchased the raft because we had already researched it. Very minor small talk from the same girl as she rang us up. Dropped the receipt on the box and said «have a good one» after circling the parking lot my sister in law called and said she wanted one too. I went back in to grab one and brought it to the counter. Not a word from the cashier this time and she just dropped the receipt on the box again and said «take care» Was not impressed wit the customer service. Although I think we may like the tubes.

I went in Friday morning to buy a new backpack for my son to go hiking with his Boy Scout troop. At checkout the cashier asked if I had a coupon, which I did not.
I got home, checked my e-​mail, and there was a coupon for $ 10 off… The e-​mail was stamped 9:38 AM, my receipt was stamped 10:06 AM.
So Saturday morning I went back to Big 5 with my receipt, coupon and an attitude that I was going to have to argue to get my discount.
There was no argument. They refunded the difference without any question or problem.
Big 5 has a great selection, and their sale prices are usually very good. Now add great customer service.

Called in to make sure they had what I was looking for. Stopped in after the gym and to my disappointment they did not carry when I wanted. Cashier was very strange like, on drugs kind of strange. The floor staff were very helpful in finding items I didn’t really need but, wanted since I was already in the store. Most pricy place for sportswear. It’s definitely a last resort.

Big HUMONGOUS thanks to Eddie and his Saturday morning crew !! Came into town from out of state for Perfect Game Tournament (Baseball) and packed the wrong color pants (not in uniform, can’t play). Ran (drove) to Big 5 only find out they didn’t open until 9 (1^st game starts @ 8 am). Saw someone walking in the store @ 7:20 am and decided to call hoping someone would pick up. Not only did Eddie pick up the call but once I explained my dilemma he got the pants I needed and allowed me to purchase them !!! Got them to my son by 7:50. Added bonus: he wished us good luck and found our we’re from the same hometown (The SFV). EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE !! Big «5», you’ve won this customer over!!! Telling EVERYONE @ the Tournament for the next 3 days to go to Big «5» for all their Baseball needs. Thanks again Eddie, your the BEST !!!

I like it here. I never realized that they had so much neat stuff. I wish this location was a bit bigger and had more selection. But dang I know where to get work shoes work boots running shoes beach stuff camping stuff boxing equipment and just stuff.
