The Village Mediterranean

I mean, it was alright. I would say 3.5 Stars. Came in for lunch and had the chicken kabob. Chicken was basic grilled chicken, nothing special and not a ton of flavor. The garlic sauce they served with it was actually really good and complimented the chicken well. The salad that came with it was pretty good, I liked the parsley added to it, gave it good flavor. Ambiance is not great, feels dirty on there. Better for takeout than dine in.

DELICIOUS. FRIENDLY. And the food came out in a timely fashion. Recommended! Will definitely go back.

In agreement with others here: AMAZINGLY NICE peeps run this place, and the food is VERY yummy, especially considering this is Azusa. Syrian/​Egyptian style cuisine with a very home-​style taste. You’ll feel like you stepped into a family’s home kitchen. Lots of TLC. I’mma comin’ back!

Pretty okay food, not that special. Good soup. All the tableware including plates was disposable stuff. They gave us a free hazelnut chocolate banana dessert! Maybe because I didn’t finish my entrée.

Food was delicious and very quick. The owner is very sweet and accommodating! I ordered the chicken kabob plate (which comes with a plethora of other treats including hummus, pita and delicious rice) and I was very satisfied. The owner even gave us some cake at the end of our meal. Overall, I am very glad we stopped in and I will be happy to return when I am back in Azusa.

The food was delicious and the service is great and personal. They are very friendly and willing to adjust the menu for you.

Tried this place for the first time tonight and will be a loyal customer after my experience. Called in an order for pickup with 2 chicken kabob plates (chicken, rice, salad, hummus, and pita) and an Arabic salad which was ready in 15 minutes. The owner and staff were helpful, friendly, courteous, and kind. When I got home and tried the food it was absolutely delicious! It was fresh and the flavor was amazing. I am thrilled to have found the little gem and will be a regular customer.

Super delicious hidden spot! First time trying this place out and it definitely did not disappoint. It’s more expensive than fast food because that’s not what it is, and the portions are generous and high quality, so take the price of a plate and split it by two people. I got the mixed plate, the cucumber yogurt salad, and roasted eggplant… Everything was amazing and so packed with flavor. The garlic spread, rice and pita were out of control good! Can’t wait to order some of their speciality catered items

I don’t usually write too many reviews but 2016 has arrived… so here’s the first for the new year! (Let’s hope it’s a sign of good food to come! Haha)
Ordered the chicken shawarma plate and some baklava. I thought the food was so delicious and the baklava… omg, FIRE. Granted, this was the first time I’ve ever had it, but yo, trust me and get some when you eat here. Do it or you played yourself.
The man who delivered my deliciousness was very pleasant (I also think it might’ve been him on the phone when they called for my info) Will probably be ordering again soon hahaha

Small and quiet, they made my family of 3 feel like we were old friends dining in their kitchen. Portions are generous, I shared my Chicken Shwarma plate with my 10 yr old. They brought her a special plate of rice just for her. At meals end we got a nice bite of sweet dessert (almost like a baklava). Tabbouleh was fresh and vibrant. We will return if back in the area.

I tried the lamb shank. It was very tender but it needed more seasoning in my opinion. The rice was very tasty and fluffy. Their kibe was fresh and flavorful. I liked their idea of serving Zatar with pomegranate on tortilla. Very good customer service.

Was in the area and had a craving for shawarma so I stopped by this place with my boyfriend to give it a try. When you walk in it’s a really small hole in the wall type place that’s pretty quiet, we were the only ones there and at first I was kind of iffy on the whole experience. After we ordered our food I totally changed my mind. Everything was sooooo delicious! Also the owner was the nicest guy!
After we had finished our meal we were wrapping up and he brough us a sweet flatbread dessert for free! I asked him what it was and told him how much I liked it. As my boyfriend and I were sitting in the car getting ready to leave the owner walked out and handed us a box full of the sweet little flatbreads since we had enjoyed them so much.
Between the great food and phenomenal service I’d defintely go out of my way to eat here again.

Brought a group from FLS, CITRUS COLLEGE here for International Dinner Night. The food was good and the portion was just right. Most of the students have never had Mediterranean Food and they did like it.

The people that work here are super nice, attentive, and accommodating. They even pulled two tables together so we have more room for our laptops and books, and we each got free fries and he brought out a pitcher of water for us too and told us the wifi pw.
Food is delicious as well, my friends and I all enjoyed the lentil soup and our dishes were reasonably priced with generous portions. The meats were tasty and the rice was cooked perfectly.
Would definitely come back again to support their business!

It was 108 degrees yesterday afternoon. It was one of those days that you feel like your face is melting off and it’s too hot to want to eat anything but salad or my favorite food — Mediterranean. Good thing for me that my friend also loves Mediterranean and we saw this place was nearby on Unilocal.
We both ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich for $ 7.99 since it had garlic sauce (yummmmm). Our server recommended that we get the plate for $ 9.99 since it comes with more and is a better deal, but both of us were too hot to eat that much. If I were to go normally, I would definitely get that though!
The sandwich was grilled to the most perfect crispness. For some reason, it was quite drippy inside but it was very tasty. The garlic sauce wasn’t too overpowering and the amount was perfect for me to feel light but be full.
As we were finishing up, the owner and chef of the restaurant came to check on how everything tasted. She also gave each of us a free cookie dessert with icing (it tasted kind of like the Greek version of an Oreo!) and an adorable cup of Arabic coffee. The coffee is some really strong stuff and very fragrant. Really appreciate the kind gesture as it was the perfect ending to our meal.
They mentioned that starting from this Tuesday, they will be offering various discounts for students and employees — which definitely sounds like a great deal! I love these kinds of mom and pop stores that are no frills but make great food — hope they’ll be in a business for a long time!

I wouldn’t really recommend this place to people who prefer less expensive meals. I find their items over priced. There are plenty of other mediterranean places that have better quality food for a much lesser price. I would recommend their Arabic falafel sandwhich though since that item was delicious, however it was priced a bit high in my opinion ($ 8.99).
I came with my sister and her husband, they felt like they were tricked by the server and was a bit upset afterwards. My brother in law ordered the fish special thinking that it was only $ 10. He felt that the server was not clear indicating how much the actual meal was. Which in turn, the meal was $ 20 (way overpriced). The meal came with a big size Tilapia fish, hummus, french fries and tabouleh, although he did say the food was pretty good, but not worth $ 20. Tilapia fish is probably one of the cheapest fishes you can buy anywhere else you go, for probably as low as $ 4.99.
Despite the dissapointments though, the server did give him a free refill drink, which normally you would have to pay for. My sister also got free hummus because she thought it came with her meal. With that being said, the server was pretty accomodating.
Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my meal with the exception of the price. But my sister and her husband was highly dissappointed.
They also make their own bread, which was pretty dry.

I love this restaurant, the food is AMAZING, we came for rhe Sunday fish, which I highly recommend, I loved it grilled, it is sooo flavorful, it is something you have to experience, we received the royal treatment with a complementary and delicious Arabic coffee, the personnel its absolutely nice and ready to help us with what we needed right away, don’t let the location fool you, it’s worth every penny, wonderful experience over all

This is a mom and pop middle eastern cuisine joint. Nothing is pre made, and the staff are super friendly. This is also a newer business; which quite often means super inflated prices. Indeed, you’ll pay about double for the average lunch in Azusa. The lunch platter, refer to pictures was 15 $.
The food was pretty good, but for what I paid, I expected a little more. Both the garlic and homemade hummus were fantastic. If they can manage a lunch special below 10 dollars that is of a combo, I’d be willing to come back more. I’m sure they would see an increase in volume without a doubt!
