Personally, I don’t think St. Louis-style pizza gets much better than this. It’s just a good ol’ pizza place that doesn’t try too hard and puts more emphasis on decent pizza than presentation. Considering its history of starting with one small restaurant to now expanding across the St. Louis metropolitan area, I think that speaks to the demand for it. There were three of us during for our pickup order, and fortunately we were all really hungry which allowed us to try different things besides pizza. With a large pizza, a pasta order, a sampler appetizer, and garlic bread, the total was just a notch above $ 30. I think this is cheaper than you can do at any corporate chain(which have the worst pizzas, anyway, I believe). I went with traditional pepperoni, while the other half of the pizza was shrimp and mushrooms. Despite how disgusting that is, I don’t think there are many places where shrimp is a topping option, so I at least appreciate the variety. The sampler consisted of solid chicken fingers, wings, and potato skins. They weren’t mind-blowing, by any means. But they were solid and again, I appreciate the variety. The star-reduction is courtesy of the mediocre pasta and garlic bread. But definitely recommend. The pizza leans more toward the greasy side, but not by much. Pepperoni pizza: 4.5÷5 Shrimp and mushroom pizza: ?/5 because that’s gross Variety: 5⁄5

This has consistently been the best Cecil Whittaker’s I have been to. I have never been disappointed with this location. The food is always good and the staff are always friendly. If you are looking for a deal they have customer appreciation day on Tuesday, and the pizzas are discounted considerably.

Horrible experience. We eat in restaurants 3 – 4 times a week but I’ve never felt the need to get on Unilocal to post. My daughter went there to meet us for dinner. She made the mistake(apparently the cardinal sin) of ordering then sitting down at a table. This is what we are used to doing at the Florissant location. The waiter told her she can’t sit in the dining room if she ordered up front. She tried to explain that she was meeting us, but decided it was best to wait outside. We arrived, took a table, and got our order. My husband politely asked the waiter for 3 waters. He never brought them. We would have GLADLY tipped him had he been decent and brought us waters, silverware, plates, etc. My husband went up to the counter and again politely asked for waters. After a considerable wait, we finally got them. We had one napkin, that I used for my plate. My husband used the box to eat out of. All the while the waiter is buzzing around us, I guess punishing us for eating in. Nightmare. Never will return.

Arrived on a Tuesday night at 7:45 with 4 hungry kids. Placed an order for drinks at 7:50 and didn’t see anyone for 30 more minutes. Restaurant was half-full, One guy running all the tables &2 people standing by the phone twiddling their thumbs. I think they’re more concerned with their carry out business. Never going here again! What a joke.

Eating pizza at cecil whittaker’s was a good choice, this is the best pizza I have ever tasted very fresh and good ingredients, the provel cheese that they use instead of mozzarella is very creamy. The owner scott was very friendly and extremely helpful.

Love this place!!! The owner, Scott, is the best. While I don’t get there often(the last time was 4 months prior to last night) Scott recognized my wife and me and jokingly said«let me go clear your table». He sat us where we were seated the previous time Great pizza and pasta

DONOTEATHERE. The service is terrible and the manger is as much of an a-hole as a person can get. If an order is messed up, prepare for the manager to not care or make it right. I use to be a weekly customer until I realized they were screwing my order up 4 out of 5 times. And the food has gone downhill so i don’t eat there anymore. I also saw someone else have a bad experience. They ordered two lg pizzas for carryout with mozzarella cheese, showed up to pick it up, and the employees said they were out of that cheese and weren’t able to make it. The customer asked what can be done and the employees said«nothing» So the customer was left without food and no explanation on why there was miscommunication. The location could have at least given them a gift card or made them something else at a discounted price. Save yourself!

Great food for the price. The big menu made it hard to decide what to get. Definitely going back.

Cecil’s is a great St. Louis style pizza place. It’s basically got a very similar menu to its main competitor,(who shall remain unnamed) but it’s definitely less pricey. Great to head here with big groups or family night for the sake of price. Actually they have a good selection of things other than pizza. Many sandwiches(including burgers), salads, pastas, and more. They really do have something for everyone. Great lunch special deals, and usually good coupons or weekly deals on pizza. If you want STL style thin crust pizza, this is probably one of the best deals you’ll get! It’s a solid family place.

I haven’t lived in the St. Louis area in over 25 years & found this place on Unilocal.Got the bogo free XL pizza, the provel cheese is what makes this so good smooth & creamy & not stringy like mozzarella. Plenty of big screens to watch the game & beer served in frosted mugs no complaints at all. Pizza was served fast & hot & I’ll be going back on my next trip to the area.

I will not be going back to this CWP again! Last week I ordered online for delivery. After an hour and a half and two phone calls, I finally got my food even though the confirmation email said it would only take 45 minutes. I ordered pasta and a Caesar salad. They put them in the same bag which shouldn’t happen because one item is hot and the other is cold. Needless to say, my salad was hot! The dressing smelled rancid because it was hot. I couldn’t eat it. Calling for a third time to talk to a manager about the situation. He offered on give me $ 5 off my next order because of the salad which was nice but my next experience was just as bad. Sunday I called my order in… this time I got a pasta, a salad, and a salad but decided to pick it up instead because I had such a miserable experience with the delivery last time. They told me it would be 20 minutes. I got there about 15 minutes after I ordered it and the pizza was already done. I was pretty excited because I was looking forward to going home to have dinner but the rest of it wasn’t. I wasn’t overly concerned because I was early. I sat there for another 30 minutes waiting for the rest of my food(45 minutes after I placed the order) while the pizza sat in the warmer. I finally got my food but, again, they put the pasta and the salad in the same bag. I got to the car and promptly removed the salad so I could actually eat it. CWP is about a 5 minute drive from my house so not enough time for food to get cold. I got home and my pizza was lukewarm, probably because it was in the warmer for over 30 minutes. The pasta was hot but the salad wasn’t particularly cold(but this time it was at least edible). I didn’t even take the time to talk to the manager because obviously last time I did it did nothing. I was very disappointed in all of it! I will not be going back to this CWP… luckily there is another one close enough to my house in Valley Park.

First let me state that me and my family eat here at least once a week. The reason for that is we can be waited on for a sit down meal for about the same cost as if we went to McDonald’s. The value here is amazing. Get on their VIP rewards club list and email list and you will get 2 or 3 offers each week that get you a ton of food for next to nothing. As with any pizza place they do have frequent turnover on the wait staff so you need to be clear about any offers or coupons you wish to use. The pizza is thin crust St. Louis style and the amount of toppings is just about right. I often order extra sauce just because I like my pizza a little sloppy. Salads are generous portions and always fresh. Although I wished they offered a buffalo style chicken salad like so many other places do now. Sandwiches are good as are the appetizers. One thing that people may find different here is that with the small kitchen your food comes out as it’s ready even if at different times. It is not unusual to get sandwiches first then a few minutes till the pizza and then a couple more minutes till pastas. We have just gotten used to it and figure we would rather have hot food than it sitting getting cold while waiting for other parts of the meal. Each day of the week offers an in house special. Our favorite is «Wacky Wednesday» where all items are 40 percent off and toasted ravioli are only a quarter each and wings 50 cents each. Restaurant cleanliness is overall pretty good although the bathrooms are kind of a craps shoot sometimes. The reason for 3 stars is the consistency issue which is mostly about staffing. We have been in where one waitress is handling every table in the place and it gets a little rough as far as order accuracy and refills. Other than that this is the kind of place where a family can go and eat a good sized meal for about the same price you could cook at home when you use the specials and coupons. As active as my family is with school, sports and church this is the perfect stop on the go to grab a quick great priced meal.

Food is good… but the service can be sketchy… and if you want to take advantage of one of the specials, you better call it out… because they’re not gonna give you a break unless you do. Half the staff pretends like they’ve never heard of it… the food’s not that good to out up with horrible service.

We decided to give the place a try some months ago(had a coupon!) and have gone back several times since. Food is excellent & abundant. We rarely get a pizza, but often go for sandwiches and the like, but it’s all been good. Staff’s friendly and helpful; if they’re ever having a bad day, we certainly don’t see it! And they always have coupons that come in the mail and weekday specials as well. Always a plus.

If you’re in the mood for St. Louis style pizza, give CWP a shot. First off, I have to say I am not an Imo’s guy. I think it is really overpriced for what you receive. I also think Cecil’s food is much better. While I won’t speak for every CWP location, the location on Manchestet has been great. The service is always pleasant and quick. More importantly, the food is always good. Be sure to keep your eyes open for the specials they run. The family deals are great for four and you’ll have some tasty cold pizza to enjoy the next morning!

I think CWP is highly underrated. When I was a kid and lived here, if you ate at CWP, you may as well have been getting your pizza from Little Ceasars. After moving back to the area as an adult, i decided to give it a try and see if what I remembered people said was wrong with it way back when, was true today. Loved the pizza! Loved the price. I had a coupon that was different from the most recent circulated coupon and the manager gave me the better deal of the two, even though I didn’t have the circular coupon. My daughter wanted the spaghetti. It was pretty darn good for just being plain olé spaghetti. There was enough in the take out container that we all had a little with our pizza. The ingredients were flavorful. I was never a huge fan of provel cheese because of the slick sticky texture when it’s melted but CWP does it right.

A word of advice from a St. Louis native(lived here 20+ years): NOTALL Cecil Whittaker’s are alike and CWP is greater than Imo’s. I have a lot of friends from California, Chicago, and the East that all say how terrible St. Louis style pizza is. However, they’re eating either terrible Imo’s or going to the CWP in the Central West End(awful). If you guys want to give it a fair shot, I definitely recommend not going with single or double topping pizzas. Try the deluxe and get a side of toasted raviolis. So if you are near this location’s CWP, give it another shot.

OH, SOHEAVENLY. THISISTHEBESTPIZZAEVER. First off, screw Imo’s. This place is the best!!! I’m a St. Louis native now living in Chicago. I miss Cecil’s so much. My boyfriend loves this place even more than me… and that’s saying a lot. There’s something about the cheese, it’s incredibly melty and somewhat sweet. The cheese IS St. Louis. Good ‘ol Provel. The sauce, oh the sauce… way better than Imo’s. A tad sweet as well that complements this savory, melty, cheesy, crispy goodness oh so perfectly. Go on Manager’s special night when you can get a large for less that $ 4.00. That’s cheaper than McDonald’s people! But be prepared to wait on that night. The place if filled to capacity w/families and all walks of life. But really, any night or time of day is perfect for Cecil’s. It’s the best St. Louis style pizza in town & my favorite kind of pizza ever. I have dreams of these pies. No kidding. A staple.
