This place was pretty good-a pleasant surprise. Parking was not the greatest(there were no spaces when we left), but the wine is definitely worth the visit/tasting. We are red wine drinkers, but we enjoyed almost all the wines they had, even the whites. Very small, homey, friendly place. Although the wines were good, we didn’t buy any because they were a bit pricey for us. If you want very good and affordable wines, check out Burnley vineyards. Since the wineries are near each other, try them both!

This was a great little winery. Gorgeous views. We met the owner and his pup who greets everyone. Try their cab franc!

A girlfriend and I stopped here on a whim as part of a weekend getaway to central VA. Wow, I’m glad we did. Wonderful wines, gracious and hospitable hosts, and a glorious corgi. Dee provided us with a great tasting and glasses to follow, and we walked away with 6 bottles between us. I’d highly recommend this place in contrast to some of the bigger, more popular/busy wineries in the area. Also, Dee gave us a great lunch recommendation(Vinny’s). We’ll be back!

We stopped here while traveling through the area though I had never heard of the winery before but saw some good reviews online, we decided to give it a try. I am really glad we did because this place is a hidden gem. The couple that owns the vineyard were there giving the tastings. They are very friendly and tell you the stories behind their wines. They had a long list of wines that were all very good. We got a few glasses of wine and sat outside. They have a cute deck in the middle of the grape vines that you can sit at and soak up the amazing Virginia view. I would have liked to be able to order sandwiches or fruit and cheese plates and sit outside with a couple glasses of wine. We may have spent all afternoon there if they did serve food.

I’ve died and gone to red heaven. I visited Reynard Florence early last year, and walked away thoroughly impressed by the quality of the wine produced by such a small, mom-and pop winery. Here I am, back a full year later, and I am on the floor(next to the Corgi) over how good the wines are here, specifically the reds. I would write about the tremendous whites — the dynamic Reynard Blancs, the fruity and fragrant Viognier — but I’m much to excited to talk about the reds. It’s very rare that I could purchase every wine off the list, but that’s what I nearly did if not for my girlfriend tackling me and taking away my credit card. At the risk of over selling, each of the reds I tried was magnificent. Every. Single. One. Starting with the 2010 Cabernet Franc, which is a hard wine to pull off on its own and not as a blend. The Cab Franc opens with dark cherries and figs and ends with chocolate and a little bit of pepper spice, all perfectly balanced. Next out was the 2013 Merlot, a new release. A silky Merlot is what made me fall in love with red wines, and this one reminded me of that love at first taste — silky smooth with raspberry/cherry and rich tannins. The blended NMAIV2012 blend was next, made of Merlot, Cab Franc, and Petit Verdot(with a little Grenache), easily my three favorite red blend wines. The complexity of the wine is off the charts, as you get the smoothness of the Merlot, the dark cherry of the Cab Franc, and the dryness of the Petit Verdot. Then we come up on an old favorite, the 2013 Petit Verdot(readers will remember I purchased the first bottle of this last year). Just as good as I remember, full bodied, and dry, packed with tannins and plum. The grand finale was the Recherché 2013, which I am drinking as a write this review. This Bordeaux style blend of Cab Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, it’s the most perfectly balanced red on the tasting, and immensely drinkable right now(although I am regretting not letting it age a bit for additional complexity). All in all, I walked out of Reynard Florence with only three bottles of red, as my girlfriend and I need to save something for rent/food, and I immediately regret not getting a whole case. If you’re a fan of big bold reds, blended or otherwise, you will be right at home in Reynard Florence.

What a pleasant surprise! A little off the beaten path of the usual suspects, but the perfect finish to our wine tour. Great wine, beautiful scenery, and our server ended up being the winemaker/owner. We walked away with several boxes. Outstanding!

Cannot say enough good things about this winery! Despite the snow, my boyfriend and I wanted to stop at one last winery before heading home. I called ahead of time to make sure RF was open and the ever-so friendly Dee answered and advised us on the best way to get to their place, avoiding the un-plowed roads. Dee gave the tasting and was incredibly welcoming and informative. Their whites were by far our favorite of all the wineries we visited that weekend. The Petit-Manseng was outstanding! We couldn’t resist buying a bottle to take home. Had to make room in the suitcase! The property was absolutely beautiful. We look forward to returning in the warmer months to enjoy their outdoor space and see all the vines in bloom!

This winery is so lovely, I almost didn’t want to write a Unilocal review! I love that it is small and not overly well known because that preserves the charm of his place. I took my boyfriend last Saturday for his birthday. He had never been to a winery before. We sampled 8 wines for only $ 10 plus a kir that would have been another $ 7 but the docent was just such a sweet heart. I wish I was better at remembering names! The wines are spectacular. I’m not someone who can usually taste the different notes in wine, however, these wines are so multifaceted and delicious that I could taste everything! I was so impressed. My boyfriend wants to drive up to Virginia just to go there and buy more wine. The best part was sitting on the hill overlooking the blue ridge mountains with a glass of wine and watching the sun set. Just magic.

Was surprised that the owner, Dee, gave the tasting! Their wines were very good. We bought the Petit-Manseng. I would go back for sure! The dog layed on my husband’s feet. Very cute!

Of the three wineries we visited in Charlottesville, Reynard Florence was the clear winner! It’s GORGEOUS and small, with very few other visitors, and a much more personal experience. We were able to sit outside at a picnic table for our tasting, as they brought the wine out to us. SO much nicer than standing at a crowded table! Also they were very kind. I’m not a huge wine drinker so I can’t say that much about the wine(I mean I liked it, but that’s not saying much) but it was just $ 5 for a good number of tastings. You won’t find a more intimate, adorable experience.

This winery had my favorite wine on our 2015 Monticello wine trail! It is a very small farm winery with a friendly winemaker who blends the wine and does the tastings himself. Very ma & pa. I really appreciated his dedication to winemaking and it’s pretty apparent why their wine is the best. He really puts his heart and soul into the wines. I loved almost all of their wine but bought a bottle of the NMAIV, which was a lovely blend of most of the reds. Be sure not to miss this newer winery on your tour: it was MUCH better than Keswick winery.

You MUST stop here while touring the vineyards around Barboursville!!! The tasting room is quaint, nicely decorated with a jazzy flair and the lady who works it is knowledgeable and friendly. The owner(who popped in) is equally as friendly, we enjoyed chatting with him. The wines all tasted VERY nicely! Their whites are blended by Michael Shaps. The reds are very nicely blended as well. We really enjoyed all of their wines and bought 3 different bottles. They have a pretty in-ground pool there, which they explained is open to wine guests during the summer as well, which is odd, but interesting and intriguing! They offer seating inside and outside on a patio or in the vineyard. Overall, we were very happy with the wines, the staff and the venue and we look forward to going back!

We enjoyed our visit to RF vineyards; the owner was really friendly and knowledgeable about the wines/winemaking. Although wines were hit and miss, I liked that they were willing to plant traditional varieties i.e. grenache to see what they would make in VA soil. Would certainly recommend visiting if you’re nearby.

a beautiful little winery located not too far from Charlottesville and we really enjoyed the wine tasting experience here than what we experience at Barboursville vineyards. I highly recommend visiting this little winery owned by a passionate wine loving couple and you won’t be disappointed. my personal favorites were their petit manseng which seems to grow well here in Virginia and their Bordeaux style blend. small production but a really satisfying experience.

We chose this winery as it got good reviews. The wine was not for us. Got there right when they opened. They had clearly not cleaned or emptied the dump bucket from the previous day. We were overwhelmed with dodging nats during our tasting. We will not be back.

Wine like beauty is decided by the beholder, that said, this vineyard has all the factors to create beautiful wine. Smaller, yes, personable, yes, not turning the art of winemaking into a profiteering exercise, absolutely. You don’t have to offer 50 varieties of wine to show success. Show me 5 or 6 done well and I’ll be happy. That’s what’s here. Taste them to see for yourself.

One of the great wine tasting vineyards in the Barboursville area with lots of great wines. Picturesque vineyard for individuals or groups! I am a fan of the reds, must come back!
