Probably my favorite dinner in Bastrop is Ramos’ Stuffed Avocado! It’s unreal! Often this place is pretty busy and while things can take a bit, the wait well worth it. The interior is a bit crappy, and there is a life-sized inflatable Spider-Man hanging above the entryway, but really that just adds to the overall experience. The food here is great, I’ve never made a poor choice on the menu.

I’ve come here several times and each time left wanting to call Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue. The service has been historically sub-par… I don’t think there is a designated bartender, so the wait staff are left to make the drinks, clean the tables, and serve their guests… You’d have a better chance finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow than a smile in here… I had the chile relleno one time. Operative word being ONE. Never has an entrée made me immediately depressed. It was tiny and the chile itself was under cooked and hard to eat. Again, so sad when I shouldve been muy happy. The house margarita is okay, but sometimes crazy tart. The one thing that keeps me coming back, the thing that has a hold on me is this damn jalapeño ranch salsa with the chips… FREAKIN bananas good. Damn you, chips and salsa. You get me every time.
