This is hands down the best place for breakfast in Batavia. Coffee — Homemade breakfasts and crazy good prices. Good size portions-not too big not too small– ample things to order, no matter what you want to eat they have it. The month of May they had Reese’s PB pancakes! I haven’t ordered them because that’s not what I’m into for bfast but that’s how diverse the menu is ! My husband and son love this place and they aren’t afraid of a wild 2 year old eating chocolate chip pancakes and being loud because it’s a family restaurant. Love love love Settlers

Met a girlfriend here for breakfast before hitting up a couple local parks with our toddlers and babies. I really appreciated that the place was very kid friendly(waitress was a doll) and food was actually fantastic. It’s not much to look at, and could REALLY use a good scrubbing(don’t look too closely at the nooks and crannies — you’ll lose your appetite) but they had a great array of breakfast options and tons of them were veggie-friendly. My daughter KILLED the blueberry pancakes and my omelette was fantastic.

Went here with a bunch of kiddos and everyone was very tolerant of them. They allowed them to loiter around the fancy spinning dessert cooler. at first it seemed like service would be slow but we got our food very quickly and everything was great. The kids portions were really big as well. I ordered the chicken souvlaki salad and it was amazing. The dressing was super good, the chicken was very tender, and the pita bread was perfectly grilled. The atmosphere was just a regular diner and quite dated but The staff was friendly and we really enjoyed the food.

Friendly waitress, but the food was all supermarket frozen foods. Nothing freshly made.

I ordered the chicken parm sub with sweet potato fries and it was amazing! The fries came with honey already on it and there is no better condiment for sweet potato fries. I look forward to coming back again! My friend had the fish fry dinner and he really enjoyed it, especially the macaroni salad that came with it. We are very picky about macaroni salad and he said it was delicious. I recommend his place to anyone.

Breakfast at Settler’s was a great way to start a long weekend. The highlights: (1) The Italian bread French toast — quite ecumenical — was outstanding. Nice and flavorful, two pieces made for a big enough serving. (2) My sausage patties were also full of flavor and filling without being greasy. (3) My wife’s eggs and home fries were very good as well. (4) The best part was my wife’s pancakes. She declared them to be the best ones she had ever had, either the pancakes or the syrup. I tried them and concur, although I think the pancakes and not the syrup made the meal great. This food, including an order of bacon, orange juice, and coffee, cost about $ 13, which is a fair price for a good meal. The place was fairly busy at 9:30 on a Friday morning, and the service was fine — no long waits. We would come back again and suggest that you give it a try. Ironically enough, you can see the Denny’s sign down the street when eating here, but Denny’s has nothing on Settler’s.

Spotlessly clean and very nice and efficient service. I liked the retro diner vibe complete with a dessert case displaying slices of pies, cake, etc. I think if you stick to certain items some entrees seemed to be solid diner quality(sandwiches, soups, burgers). I did enjoy the minestrone soup that came with my dinner. It was thick and hearty filled with pasta, beans and veg, and had a nostalgic comforting feel. But, I went a little rogue and ordered from the specials menu and got shepherd pie, which unfortunately, was really really not great– that recipe needs a complete overhaul lol, and that is all I shall say about that! The cherry pie a la mode was my favorite part of the meal, who doesn’t like pie?! 2.5÷5

Place has been caught reusing uneaten food! Never very clean. Food is not of any great quality. Go to SPORTO’S instead

Please say it ain’t so. Oh man this was one of my favorite spots in Batavia but I’m sad to say our meal was quite lack luster. Mom ordered patty melt with fries and I ordered chicken souvlaki dinner with a side of home fries. Moms sandwich was greasy as all hell and the fries were so greasy and limber, they made my teeth squeak. My souvlaki was also disappointing. Their«house dressing» was simply ranch; which I don’t eat. I mistook it for tzaziki(sp?) sauce and ruined the salad. What Greek dish comes with ranch? It’s especially troubling knowing the owners are Greek! The three pieces of chicken were okay. They were served over a bed of rice that tasted like a starchy vortex. My home fries were dripping with grease as well. I remember them being well seasoned and crispy. They have definitely changed their menu and cut some corners. I understand going to a smaller menu but cutting corners and a smaller menu? Recipe or Gordon Ramsey kitchen nightmare. Mom loved their eggs Benedict but they seem to have removed them. Next time I’m in town, Sportos or Salvania’s will be my dinner of choice. 2 stars because service was fast and friendly.

Ate lunch here today with my father a retired Top chef. I always cringed while going out to eat with him. He is the toughest person to please in a resturant. He was also one of the best chefs back in the day in the Catskills resort area. To my surprise lunch was great and not one complaint That was a first!!’ I’m personally 45 yrs old and he 85. Believe me we have had a lot of meals out when he comes to visit me. Lol. Service was good, the place was clean and the food was great. Nuff said. Not a 5 star gourmet meal. But a place to have a quality lunch.

This place has a horrible ambiance. All the waitresses look miserable like they’re indentured servants. They very polite and professional but can infer from their demeanor that it’s a crummy place to work and the boss is probably a jerk. On my most recent visit the owner walked my friend and I to our table, tossed the menus on it and walked back to his perch by the door. The whole time I was there he just sat on his butt scanning the room for things to complain about and whispering to waitresses what most certainly had to be negative comments or demands of some sort judging by their reaction. Other than that the food is pretty good and although their likely maltreatment by their employer might inhibit them from being as extroverted and gregarious as one might hope and expect a waitress in a diner to be they do their best. It’s clean and has decent food, which is what really matters if you’re hungry. lol
