Had the chance to stop into this PJ’S coffee recently. Its located in downtown Baton Rouge. There were folks sitting and enjoying the atmosphere of the area .I enjoyed the Southern Pecan iced coffee. The flavors and aroma of the coffee had my nose feeling all kinds of good… The staff was extra friendly checking on me constantly during my visit. There was a young man with a fro who was cracking jokes the entire time. There was also a young lady, maybe 25 or so who was very helpful and suggested several restaurants in the area. This PJ’S was very clean and worth the visit… I suggest that you stop in if ever in the downtown Baton Rouge area.

My first time visiting the State of Louisiana was not so grandiose… In fact I was completely adamant on never returning… And then I stumbled upon this spectacular café…WowPJ’s Coffee… Totally made up for the poor geographical and socially unacceptable experience I had in Louisiana… Truly amazingly friendly service… Excellent Breakfast, Lunch and fabulous original coffee and or of vast variety… Add this establishment as a must!!! You won’t regret it!!! Truly deserves more than the five Stars offered for reviewer!!!

SO… I don’t usually go to a PJ’s but this was across from the Hotel Indigo where I stayed for the night. Lots of windows and small tables as well as some comfy chairs with little desks attached welcome you into this space. This PJs is stacked with all sorts of pastries, bagels, gum(hello to the girl who forgot toothpaste), as well as a breakfast and lunch menu AND Zapp’s potato chips! I would rarely give a chain coffee shop this many stars, but the guy working the counter(tall, curly brown hair) is a rockstar at his job, like seriously a rockstar. I’ve been in this coffee shop for maybe an hour and he is killing it with orders, making sure to ask if people want the drip coffee or espresso(which none of the other PJs do, and I end up not getting the kind of mocha I really want), chatting up his regulars while making their usuals, and keeping things clean while having a great attitude about it. Hold on to this one, PJ’s on Lafayette. They have seating outside, and my only mini complaint is that people can smoke out there so not sure how crazy I’d be about that, but it’s a very pretty area. The bathroom is unisex but really clean. I could definitely work here during the day if I lived in BR and had downtown meetings.

This is my go-to morning place for coffee. The staff is great. The coffee is above average. Used to go to CC’s, transitioned over. Haven’t looked back.

A little pricier than the single dollar sign indicator. Two muffins, large coffee — $ 10 and change. Plus a coffee refill is only .25 off the original price.

Nope sorry. Doesn’t cut it. Visited on the weekend recently. The menu’s on the overhead boards are confusing and hard to read. Young teenage girls working at the counter, more concerned about playing with their phones than on customers. Seemed a little put off that they have to deal with pesky customers which diverted them away from flirting with the young male customers. I asked for a pastry with my coffee and their entire attitude was«No, we don’t have that.» And really unhelpful. So I got my coffee and walked out and one of them told me to «Have a nice day» in a snotty attitude. I walked back to the counter and said, I want a refund of my coffee it tastes bad. She said, we don’t give refunds. I just left it there and left. Won’t be back. I asked who is the manager and she said no manager is here, and gave me some name. The problem is that whomever owns or manages this place, isn’t doing a good job. Allowing immature kids to work a downtown coffee counter.

I was visiting Baton Rouge from out of town and needed an afternoon pick-me-up. Unfamiliar with PJ’s coffee, I ventured in with my husband and explored the menu. The sweet young gal at the counter greeted us and I asked her about the ginger peach iced tea, she told me she highly recommended it as it is her favorite and so I was excited to try it. I ordered that and my husband ordered an iced cappuccino, another unique item on the menu. We both got our drinks quickly and enjoyed them very much. The coffee has a really nice sweet flavor(not sugary) and is not too bitter or acidic and the iced tea was really delicious and refreshing! Overall, I am a fan and hope to return to PJ’s or purchase some of their coffee and teas to take home!

Personally, I like coffee, even PJ’s, I give them the A-OK rating because I like coffee shops that have a certain vibe to them and this location is boring… yawn, but the barista is always nice. Nevertheless, the last time I dropped in for a white chocolate cappuccino they must have left a good amount behind the counter. I was very disappointed, coffee is good until the last drop and dang it, I want every drop that I paid for. I’m sure I’ll be back when I visit downtown this weekend, but I’ll be sure to inspect my cup next time… just to be on the safe side.

I had a caramel coffee(one of their specialties), and it was really good. I also ordered a bagel, and it wasn’t good at all. I wouldn’t recommend the pastries, but the coffee was good and the staff was kind!

The coffee(a single espresso, $ 2.13 including tax) was palatable, but it had nothing special going for it. The shot was way longer than I would have liked, and the beans were way darker than I would have liked. After pulling my shot, the barista left me alone in the café and stepped out for a smoke. PJ’s and Highland Coffees live on separate planets.

Because there was no Starbucks within a 1 mile radius(blasphemy!) and Strands isn’t open until 7:30, I was forced to try out this PJs out if sheer desperation for caffeine. I walked in to an empty coffee house. Never a good sign. I decided on a breakfast sandwich on ciabatta and a non-fat triple mocha. Because of the«rush» of the three people who entered after me and the one employee, I waited for some time for my sandwich which I assume was being microwaved in the back based on the toughness of the bacon included in said sando. The mocha didn’t fair much better… The base they use was terrible and I’m pretty certain that it wasn’t the triple that I ordered. Needless to say this was my one and only trip to PJs. I bit the bullet and tried it considering it was the only place I saw but I should have listened to the screams of disappointment on Unilocal! This is one cup of joe I can live without, especially with Strands right around the corner!

Café Mocha tasted like hot water. It also took about 30 seconds to make… Pre-made?

Like others I chose this place because it was next to my hotel. I will not be returning. I like supporting local business and don’t mind paying a little bit extra however… The breakfast sandwich was over $ 7 and the price wasn’t marked on the menu. The sandwich was average at best. When the cash register said $ 10 for a coffee and sandwich I thought there was a mistake but the bored cashier said no. The music was too loud and echoed. The view towards the street was blocked with large signs promoting their new food items.

I think I’m still in shock. Almost SEVEN dollars for a microwaved breakfast sandwich? I know what a microwaved English muffin tastes(and feels like) and this one was definitely nuked. If you can’t even be bothered to toast your English muffin, then I don’t feel badly about scolding you for serving an underwhelming(to say the least) breakfast sandwich for $ 7. Though PJ’s is located directly across from the Hotel Indigo, it remained absolutely empty for the 20 minutes I was in there. I’m not surprised, as the underachieving food and espresso drinks along with the downright dowdy décor consisting of a hodgepodge of coasters, greeting cards and other random tchotchkes didn’t compel me to stay for longer than necessary. There are much better options around the corner — use your Unilocal mobile app to find them; I did.

I’ve been to this location no fewer than 10 times and it is only because of the convenience factor since my hotel is across the street. The prices are too high, the coffee is lacking, and the service is mediocre — and that is on the good days. They have a variety is pastries that they will heat up for you but a bacon, egg and cheese bagel will run you close to $ 7. If you have a car, use it to drive somewhere else for breakfast.

I love me some PJ’s! Went here on a Saturday morning and enjoyed an ice mocha while I read the paper. Service was prompt, it was quiet, and they had soft music playing in the background. This is a great location — close to the river and historical buildings downtown. I docked a star because their muffins aren’t as good as the PJ’s on Magazine St. in New Orleans. I would think they would all use the same recipe but these were sub par.

Coffee: fine. I had their version of a Frappucinno, which was a little on the sweet side. Husband had regular coffee. Service: preoccupied. The lone barista was really interested in shutting down, though we were half a hour from closing time. He had already started cleaning the equipment, so couldn’t make the drinks I first asked about. He moved furniture in front of the bathroom and made it difficult for my husband to reach it. We finally left when he turned on the vacuum cleaner! Ambience: typical chain coffee shop. Nice view of the riverside green space from the tables outside, where we settled to enjoy our drinks once it was clear we weren’t welcome within!

Conveniently located across the street from both the Hilton Hotel and the Hotel Indigo. Only a block from the river. I ran across the street to grab a cup of coffee and a pastry on Sunday morning. he young man who greeted me was very nice. Coffee was okay, pastry was not so hot. I walked down to the river and enjoyed my purchases on a bench on the levee. It was convenient and not bad, but I wouldn’t seek this place out.
