Loved the homemade donuts. Very fresh and perfect consistency. Went very nicely with my earl gray tea. Chose a apple fritter donut and the strawberry cheesecake donut. Plenty of filling in the donuts! Lined moved quickly and staff was pleasant and helpful!

A great little doughnut shop. This is not a fancy place. But it’s a great spot to come and hang out for a delicious doughnut and a good cup of coffee. It’s a local favorite. Open all the time. My kids love to go. You won’t find a better doughnut.

It’s a great place to get a variety of doughnuts. They are cheap and some of them are yummy. But there are other places in Battle Creek that have way better doughnuts you can buy. But it is convenient how it is open 24⁄7.

I’m not a big fan of donuts but was meeting someone here. I got a Snickers donut and it was delicious. My friend got a muffin and it was moldy and the second one she tried was also moldy so she got a cinnamon roll. The people who worked here were really nice. They had quite a bit of seating

This place makes the best doughnuts in the country! They have fun and innovative flavors. They have amazing tastes. My favorites are the NY Cheesecake and Reese’s. You have to stop by this place if you are nearby or passing through. They are very inexpensive. These things are addictive, so be careful!

While visiting family I had to check this place out because they were featured on one of the Food Network shows. If a candy bar, a donut and a cake had a baby — it would be named«Sweetwater’s Donut Mill» !! When you walk in the place, the delicious smell of donuts cooking about knocks you over! Then your eyes are filled with endless varieties of donuts and sweet treats! We ordered a dozen of various donuts — all for around $ 7! And these donuts are HUGE! The filled ones are large enough for two or three people. I liked the unique creations they come up with like the snicker’s cupcake and peanut butter cup — you can’t go wrong with a donut with frosting and candy bar pieces! I sampled every flavor we purchased and they were all good — surprisingly the buttermilk one was my favorite.

I saw this place on Unilocal and stopped for a snack while traveling to visit my family. I had a cheesecake doughnut and chocolate lovers doughnut. I immediately tried the cheesecake doughnut because the girl working there recommended it. It was delicious! The next evening I ate the chocolate lovers doughnut and it was wonderful! My family raves about their doughnuts. I’m stopping on my way home again.

Hands down the best donuts! Must go if you want friendly service, an assortment of classic and unique donuts and great prices!!! I live in Southern California… where it’s usually called one of the top places for the culinary mecca of all foods and desserts. But Sweetwater in Battle Creek Michigan will give your tastebuds a frenzy of happiness and by far puts all other donut shop wanna be’s to shame! The smell alone when you walk in will put a smile on your face! No Cronuts here… and none needed!

One of the staff was a little short with me. I had to initiate the conversation to say what I would like and she outright looked at me and ignored me. Luckily there was another nice lady willing to help me out. Donuts were fresh and the restaurant is clean. They have a nice selection and very decent prices.

A Michigan Must, can we make this a thing. I’ll hashtag it, you know, so it’s real! #MichiganMust A quick trip to the western portion of the state prompted this very impromptu visit and upon reading that the doughnut shops were open 24/7, I had to go. Kalamazoo’s shops were a bit out of the way, so Battle Creek ‘s was right on par with my journey back toward Ann Arbor. I wasn’t leaving without these famous donuts whose goodness are known even here. It’s a half hour before midnight and they’re a few patrons around, two what seem to be couples weirded out that someone so awake and happy was out and about and in their shop. A weak smile from one couple eases my mind as I scan the smallish establishment, and my eyes rest on a New York Cheesecake donut, a loner, calling my name. I began to take take in the Mug Wall and heard from beyond the register a voice. A quick shimmy later, a woman covered in what seemed to be Confectioners Sugar greets my cousin and I and asks how many doughnuts? I got six people to feed, I say. A dozen will be fine. She quickly opens a box, and my budding love affair begins. We take two plains, an old fashioned glazed, a regular glazed, a Reese’s, a grasshopper, a NEWYORKCHEESECAKE, a chocolate(not double), a sprinkled, a powdered, a cinnamon and a wild berry. As she struggled to close the box full of something I figured was in abundant supply in heaven maybe, I paid what to me seemed a drop in the bucket for what I bought, $ 7.98. After paying, I asked about the Mug Wall and the woman explained that they were the mugs of the regulars. Regulars bring their mugs in and get a little hook with their name above it and are able to start their visits ready for their first cuppa(tea) or coffee. *How ridiculously cute* As I proceeded back to the car to start my dad off with his first plain donut, he shared that DD, what us East Coasters affectionately call Dunkin’ Donuts, had decreased the size of their doughnuts and he was no longer familiar with their pricing only that the last time he went it costed just about the same. These doughnuts from Sweetwaters were much larger and he was a happy clam(a rarity as he’s almost as picky, if not pickier than I) as he wrapped his next one up for later. Upon returning from the West side I made an early night of it, but by the time I woke up, more than half the doughnuts were gone. When asked, my brother, cousin, and husband smiled as they remarked on just how delicious they were. A good decision indeed, begging my dad to stop on our way back home and definitely a place I’ll return to without question. A shareable sweet treat for my new loves out west and old loves in the east.

Oh so absolutely amazing! Can’t go past Exit 97 when heading east or west on Michigan 94 without a stop at Sweetwater. Fritters are knock dead awesome when they are just done. Not a bad donut in the entire bunch. White Clouds are my fav, tho.

This place has good donuts, always fresh! The only downside to this place is the employees are always rude! I have never had a nice person helping me but again, the donuts are good.

I may be more fortunate than I thought, with QD in my town. Sweetwater’s has good donuts. The variety was plenty. I tried the cinnamon sugar apple filled donut. It was dry, as if it was cooked a little too long. It was soft in texture and sweet in taste but I was looking for that extra umph. The place could use a good once over with a broom and mop. Service was courteous and helpful. I’d get fresh donuts here but not the days left over bake.

Found this on a top 100 donut list somewhere so hey its on the way why not check it out… Glad we did. Its now become a half way stop on my way across the fine state of MI and they are open 24 hours… nothing better than reeses or snickers donut late at night when you still have 4 hours to go. I’ve been there at all hours and the selection of donuts has always been plentiful. The last time we were there we tried the donut holes which didn’t stand a chance once we got back on 94. Great service and a nice treat to break up the drive.

The doughnuts are stale and the icing not of good quality. Writing an honest review so that they can improve and plan their production /turnover better. These are not the best, Krispy Kreme and Tim Horton’s are better. I’ve tried all their flavors and nothing particularly stands out. I think they can be more creative and should explore changing up their dough and experimenting more versus relying on the same recipe. Big city doughnut bakeries are better but Sweetwaters can compete if they just try!

3.5 stars based on the two doughnuts I tried. Was driving across Michigan just after Christmas when we pulled off the highway in Battle Creek. While my husband ran into a store to pick up some local beer to take home, I spotted Sweetwater among the sea of fast food joints and turned to Unilocal for guidance. The reviews were good so we decided to check it out. The selection of doughnuts was vast so we relied on the recommendations of a lady waiting in line who told us she travels some distance specifically for these doughnuts. Her favorite was the chocolate filled doughnut. Unfortunately I think we have different tastes as I found this one WAY too sweet(which is saying a lot as I love sugar), filled with sickly sweet chocolate icing. I ended up scraping most of the interior out as the doughy exterior was pleasant on its own. The other one we tried was a plain glazed. I’m this flavor is less popular add it seemed slightly stale. All in all a decent doughnut joint and something different from the typical big chain fare. Next time I’d choose my flavors a bit more carefully.

My wife and I happened to stumble upon this doughnut gym late at night on our way to Canada. This is one of the few old-fashioned donut shops I have seen. Late at night they have a large assortment of freshly made donuts. They also have large cups of coffee for next to nothing if you are in need of a caffeine fix as this place happens to be right off of the highway. They have creative flavors of donuts, and neither me or my wife have yet to try one that we didn’t love. They also have a fan club online which is worth joining. Now every time my in-laws come from Canada to Chicago to visit us they also stop to pick up donuts. If you are looking for fantastic donuts, this place is definitely for you! Two thumbs up!
