My personal favorite retro kitschy record stop in the Mitten. You can find the best selection of vintage and new pressings here, all in a friendly environment. Plenty of vintage goods and HI-FI equipment to pick up here too! If you ask really nice and offer to fill Jordan or Jessica’s cup with delicious brew, they’ll specially order vinyl for you if available. They scratch your back, you scratch theirs!

Bay City is better with Electric Kitsch selling vinyls. I’m a regular at this store and it never ceases to amaze me how extensive their record collection is. Name a genre and most likely they have a few records to satisfy your craving.

The Kitsch is a great little record joint that is exactly as the name implies: kitschy. You’ll find everything from new/used vinyl to home décor to clothing. They even offer repairs on your instruments and turntables. Jordan and Jess will order any album you desire at no additional cost. They host some pretty fun events too. Come see all of its kitschy goodness for yourself! You won’t be sorry. At all.

This is a vivid piece of HELL-YES in gorgeous downtown Bay City. While on a short stay in the mitten, I stopped in by pure gravitation alone. Knowing I had minimal packing space available, I approached with a game plan and budget. Immediately dazzled & visually tickled DIRECTLY upon entrance, and the faint scent of spicy bright orange as I drifted passed… my heart beat a smidge faster… the immediate inclination, as my eyes feasted and my hands guided me with a forward reach to the first Vintage-trophy in sight. … *go for the blue… go straight for the blue glassware* After far too long fidgeting, petting and inspecting nearly every kitschy prize within grasp… I shimmy’d to the records… lets see what these cats got on Phoenix’s :RevolverRecords: The setup and display are inviting and ease my eye and foot through a phenomenal selection. Mama know, what mama like. I gracefully thumb through and humming after pausing on a Dinah Washington record, with a live version of «More than you know» that I was previously unaware existed. I checked for scuffs or scratches… warp…perfect condition… *heart rate further increases* …scoping the more-than-economical price tag, I stuffed that gal under my wing and proceeded to check out, budget in tact, baby blue baby vase for my kitchen window… Success. The broad working the counter was bopping around adjusting this display and that masterfully. She meets me at the counter, with a radass haircut and was sweet as a hot apple pie in a sunny window. She rang me up for my new treasures and mentions her affinity for Dinah as well and so we chatted for some time and she was very charming. Turns out she is a Roller Derby girl and is one of two owners of this adorable shop. They also do Guitar repair. Holy camole, what a fun concept and ran by some young local entrepreneurs. This is the Kitschy fantastic and I cannot wait to return… online store you saaaaaaayyyy???

Definitely a great place to check out if you are into vinyl! They’ve got some pretty obscure and hard-to-find stuff! Awesome little store!
