Best Italian Food in town!!! Real home cook Italian food that can almost compare to my grandmothers. The specials are always amazing, and I highly recommend the rice as a side.

Came here for valentine’s day. Décor was nice but it was really cold inside the heat must not have been strong enough against the frezzing cold temps outside. The food was delicious I order from the valentine’s day menu special. Our waitress kim seemed like she was not having a good day and was trying to be as pleasant as she could. Overall great food I will be back

Yup, another Italian restaurant in New Jersey. Inside what was a tavern in my hometown, where I still visit. And it’s FABULOUS. I live on the west coast and we just don’t have food like this. It’s classics that are done so well. The first time I went, the sole fra diavolo was so good that I had it on about 10 subsequent visits without trying anything else. But it’s ALL delicious. Ramon is so attentive, as is all the staff. The dishes are made fresh so you can be specific about how spicy you want something. It’s a small room which is good and bad. It’s intimate in a very casual friendly way. Like most places these days, you can dress nicely or wear jeans and sneakers, no one cares and everyone blends. If you happen to be there when a big family gathers for someone’s birthday, it can definitely get loud. It’s not a formal night out, you enter through a bar where there is inevitably a sports game on TV but everyone is friendly and it’s not rowdy. I’ve had a lot of things there… seafood salad which was a special one night, several of the fish dishes, pastas… all great. I have never left without leftovers because the portions are big. Last time I had a special of mussels and clams over pasta with a spicy tomato broth(not thick sauce, broth) that was so good you could drink the broth. Bayonne has a lot to offer and Bella Sorrellas is definitely my favorite restaurant whenever I come back. In fact my mouth is watering right now!

Ok, why hadn’t I been to Bella Sorellas before last night? The food was fantastic! I had a board meeting last night & got home late. The kid had gone to trivia night with her older brother, so that left the husband and I with some time. We followed a recommendation from a friend and headed over to Bella Sorellas. We walked in and saw that it was mostly full even though it was a rainy, miserable Wednesday night. That was a good sign. We started with the lentil soup, which was delicious. Very flavorful. I’ve had some miserable lentil in my time but this was outstanding and perfect on such a rainy night. Our appetizer was clams oreganata, not on the specials but I was in the mood. There are a lot of great-looking shrimp dishes but I’m one of those people who became allergic later in life(and I miss it!). Lance had Spaghetti Carbonara. He said it was the best he’d had in a very long time. I had Filet of Sole Marechiara, which was in a pink sauce with clams. It had a bit of a kick to it, and was insanely delicious and fresh. It was served with pasta. I indulged with some sangria but Lance didn’t drink because he had an overnight call scheduled for work(have to love talking to India). He had a cappuccino, I eschewed all dessert because I was overfull. Service was a little slow but I’m going to chalk that up to the servers talking to all their regular customers and friends. Everyone seemed to know each other. Still, service was cheerful and the busboy worked his tail off, keeping every table fresh. So, thanks to Suzanne for the recommendation and we will definitely be going back. It’s great.

Some of the reviews below have got to be for another restaurant because this place is fantastic! We eat here regularly and order out from here as well. The service is great. I love that the staff always remember who we are and what we like to order. Everyone is super friendly and hospitable. The owner is often there and extremely friendly, interacting with all of the customers. Their food is delicious and they have large portions making left overs great for lunch the next day. We love that the former cook from Just Sonnys is the cook here, as his cooking is excellent! Try the chicken parm– you will be so glad you did! It is hands down the best I’ve ever had :)

We’ve been frequenting this local establishment for about a year now. I have to say I’m a little confused by a couple of reviews below. I have a feeling they may have been reviewing the wrong place, maybe Sarelli’s — who know’s. But this place has great food, abundant choices, daily app and dinner specials. With all of those choices I still order off the menu sometime — I’ve never been turned down. And the owner and staff treat everyone very well. This is a «go to «place as far as we are concerned.

Slightly above average Jersey Italian fare. Decent portions, and tasty too. I enjoyed the baked ziti and the pasta e fagiloli was great. I thought that the prices were reasonable and the ambiance was fine(Sinatra always works). We there for my birthday on a very cold January night, so there was no one there and that hurt the experience slightly(not their fault). Not sure I’d go rushing back since there are so many other Italian choices in my area, but I would recommend the spot if you want good standard pasta.

Been going to Bella’s since they opened more than a year ago. The place rocks. The food is out of this world. Seriously, everything on their menu is great. And it gets consistently better as I guess the chef keeps improving his recipes. Delicious. The hot pepper salad is lights out as is the stuffed artichoke. The pasta e fagioli is great too, which is damn hard to get right. The service is always awesome from the bartenders down, but Maria takes the cake. The lady is tiny, but don’t let that fool you. She flies all over the place and is effortless. I have no idea what Desiree down there is talking about. There are about ten appetizers at any given time, and I don’t even think they carry garlic bread. I named you two above that aren’t on her list as well. Also, I’ve been there late — actually, my wife and I are always in there late come to think of it – and they’ve never even batted an eye. The owner comes and sits and talks with us to boot. Also, there is no manager that I know of. It’s the wait staff and then the owner. That’s it. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure she’s mistaking this place for another. It’s possible! All in all, a great night out. Not an easy task if you know anything about Bayonne(unless you want pizza).

In all honesty, if I could have given this place NOSTARS, I would have. What a horrible dining experience we had! First, the manager of the establishment was extremely rude and was visibly aggravated at our 8pm arrival on a Sunday night(they stop seating at 8:45pm). I manage a confection store, it’s been drilled into my head that we serve customers UNTIL we close, not 45 minutes early and I certainly don’t give the patrons an attitude for coming to the store, even if they arrive two minutes until we stop serving! Now to the food. Our appetizers were good(you only have two options, garlic bread or eggplant rollatini). Our entrees however were an epic fail. I ordered a mixed seafood dish, while I was eating, I realized that the shells were still on some of the seafood! My stomach immediately plummeted, clearly if you had cleaned your seafood correctly, shells wouldn’t be on it. As I was basking in my disgust, my friend found a hair in her dish! That was it. We immediately requested that our meals be taken off the bill as they were so sub-par, we weren’t wasting our money on it. The wait staff attempted to argue with me over my dish, claiming that shells on the seafood wasn’t «that big of a deal.» To boot, while we were having a dispute with the waiter over the food, the manager did not come to the table once. That’s your job! You handle the disputes! I will never in my life go to this place again, and I suggest you steer clear of it too!

We dined here last evening as a group of 7, so it’s a little hard to compare this experience, particularly the service aspect, to a more intimate meal with just my wife. That said, most everyone in this group enjoyed their food. We had dined at Just Sonnys several times before and we really enjoyed that place. We were sad they closed, but glad to hear the chef and staff had resurfaced at Bella. I was tempted to order the daily special of acorn squash ravioli, but my wife & I decided to split the veal saltimboca with a side of pasta with the«same sauce»(as the saltimboca). We learned the«same sauce» trick at Just Sonnys. We also learned that their portion sizes are quite ample. For our appetites, either we share a meal or take home left-overs. We’ve had this dish at Just Sonnys and loved it again here. Dishes ordered by others in our party were the chicken rolatini, which was described as very good, although I’m told their veal rolatini is even better, but it’s only available from time-to-time as a daily special. A breaded veal cutlet special was ordered, but came out with chicken instead. It was topped with broccoli rabe and mozzarella and was described as tasty, but a bit dry. It would have benefited from a gravy or sauce. The order of chicken scarpariello, however was described as overly lemony. The remaining dish ordered was shrimp francese and it was described as very good. Service was good considering the size of our party. We had several bottles of Ruffino Chianti, which was reasonably priced. Can’t wait to come back!
