Excellent food… Clean restaurant… great service… That’s most of what I have to report… It was a great surprise to walk in and get a very good Korean Noodle seafood soup on a 20 degree day in New York! I’ll come here again!

Came here on an afternoon after craving some Korean style Chinese food. It’s not my usual go to Korean Chinese but it’s close by. Place was absolutely empty but it didn’t discourage me. I ordered the Jajangmyeon(Black Bean Sauce Noodles) and the lunch special Kang poong gi(Crispy Fried Sweet & Spicy Chicken) which came with a small bowl of fried rice and & soup. Service was obviously fast since I was the only one there. Food was delicious. Jajangmyeon was good. Their noodles aren’t fresh homemade but it was cooked perfect. Not sure if their black bean sauce is homemade but it was good too. The Kang poong gi was also delicious. It was crispy with a perfect blend of sweet & spiciness. The only dish that was bland was the fried rice. Portions are hearty and I had to doggy bag the leftovers home. Overall the food was delish and service was ok. Only reason it gets 4 stars is I felt a bit rushed towards the end of the meal. It wasn’t bluntly put forward but it was subtly hinted at by my waitress. Place was dead and I haven’t been dining long for that kind of gesture. They certainly can do away with this kind of attitude. It wasn’t a big deal but I figured I would just point that out. Besides that hiccup, I wouldn’t mind coming back here again to try some other stuff on the menu.

I’ve been coming here for over 3 years now. It has always been a solid squad spot, which is surprising, since I have yet to review it. I pondered between a 4 and 5 star rating, wondering if my 5 would just be a biased one, but on a hungry day, this place is the best. I still enjoy this place at least once a month(avoiding the previous overkill). Whenever I get my monthly jjajang myun craving, I come here. This is the usual meal that I order: 1. Jjajang myun 2. Bone-in kanpoong gi AND/OR tangsoo yuk All of the above are very good, especially on a cold winter’s day, when you’re starving and everyone can’t really decide where to go eat.

Decided to try the lunch specials, i ordered baby shrimp with mixed veggies. It came in a medium size platter with deep fried baby shrimp in a sweet, garlic sauce with peas and carrots and it was accompanied with a small bowl of fried rice. All this for $ 7.95 awesome taste, wish my bowl of fried rice was bigger but this will do. We also ordered the spicy seafood soup with shrimp, clams, and ococtop. The soup is served with a side of shredded cucumber, the noodles in the soup resemble spaghetti. The broth is red in color and not very spicy. Definitely worth trying. Servers are very attentive, they set up 2 small plates with house made kimchee, raw onion and pickled daikon. The table side tea is very refreshing, so much we consumed 2 pots of hot tea during lunch.

Yes, this is the place to come for noodles. Hubs and i didn’t want to go back since the ladies can be such old ladies but the noodles are yum. Only problem was that it took forever to get some noodles, the noodles were nice and chewy so worth the wait.

This is my new jjajangmyun/jjambong spot. I love myself some jjambong and I’ve been to many other places but I like guh song the best. Their broth is just delicious. Their fried shrimp/pork(i get both) in garlic sauce is also one of the best. I like the batter mixture they use to fry their meat in just works better than some of the other places. It’s not too doughy and it comes out crispy which is a necessity. Check it out for great food and service.

My friend brought me here and I think I’ll be coming back here often! I couldn’t choose between the jjajangmyum or Jjambbong. In the end, I wanted something soupy, so I went with the Jjambbong. It was definitely a good choice because the soup made me feel so warm inside and it was a big bowl. I couldn’t finish the noodles and had to give the rest to my friend. The soup was very flavorful and not extremely spicy. In addition, my friend ordered the fried pork to share and that was great as well. After you ask for the check, they serve you oranges! The waiters were also very sweet and friendly. They always have a smile on their face when they’re serving and it makes you like the food even more. :D

Nice find here in Bayside for some authentic Korean Chinese style food. Upon entering we were happily greeted in Korean and led to our table immediately during an early dinner on Saturday. While it doesn’t look like much from the outside its actually capable of seating decent number of tables inside. The food I’ve tried here were quite really good and the portion is quite generous. We had enough of the janjang sauce left over for at least another meal or two. The chicken was quite generous as well although for the price we kinda expected a big plate :) It almost taste like Bonchon although I thought the breading weren’t as consistent. However its a really minor point since they tasted really delicious. Definitely try out their flagship menu jangjangmyun if you’re fan of delicious noodles. Definitely see myself coming back again if I’m ever in the area. The service throughout our meal was really good since it wasn’t a very busy night quite is absolutely a nice plus

Came in for lunch with my coworkers today afternoon. There were a fair amount of customers and the place was chatty, lively, and vibrant, which was great! The service was phenomenal. The waiters are always really friendly and truly cater to your every need. Although they were quite busy, they never forgot to come over to our table and refill our side dishes, rice, water, etc. Today, I got the Jjam Jja Myun(Half jja jang myun and half jjam bbong — $ 11.99). There was a good amount of it and I didn’t have any negative thoughts on this dish. We also got the shrimp ggan poong pi and the regular ggan poong gi, both of which were really delicious and flavorful! They gave an ample amount and all three of us were more than stuffed when we left. When you receive your check at the end, they give complimentary oranges! Nothing much more to say… I’ve been absolutely loving the service and food quality I’ve been experiencing here recently! I totally recommend!

I enjoy coming here because the place has a homey feeling to it. I always get a Tan su yuk and a janjangmyun for two people when I come here. Just wish they added pineapples like sam won gak. The tangsuyuk would then be perfect. The kim chi is also on point. The service is always super fast. If I asked for 1 kimchi, I always get two. Parking is easy to find after 7, free street parking after 7.

The jjajangmyun here is my favorite! The sauce is the perfect blend of sweet and salty. More sweet than salty. Goes so well with the noodle. It’s so goooood. I also had the seafood stew, it is delicious~ I think it’s spicier than most seafood stews I’ve had. It also lasted me two meals :) they give 3 side dishes with take out~ would def come back to try their fried pork along with the other two dishes *o* Update: the fried pork is it’s a very large portion of crispy, tangy pork. The jjajangmyun and jampong was on point as always: D I think the store portion of jjajangmyun is smaller than take out.

This place is a little gem around here. Outside is very deceiving with its out dated storefront. But once you walk in the place is very clean be workers very polite. Place is filled with locals and that’s always a plus. I have tried a few dishes and tomsukyoo spelling way off(sweet and sour pork) is perfection with every bite. The black bean noodles is also some of the best around. Prices are a little higher for meals but the portion sizes make up for that with quality ingredients and great flavors. So don’t let the outside fool you step in grab a menu and just enjoy. I actually really dig the storefront after being here a few times :)

One of the better korean/chinese restaurants in Queens. Their jjang myun hits the spot and don’t forget to order the clam entrée with noodles if you love seafood! It’s slightly spicy and has a good kick to it with greens dowsed with the sauce. Absolutely delicious!

I’m surprised that I haven’t written a review for Guh Song yet — I was absolutely positive that I had written one after coming here with my brother. But anyway, I guess not, so here’s the long overdue review. I remember the first time I came to Guh Song was for my birthday celebration with my teammates. While on the bus to the glorious Bayside high school, I would always pass this restaurant but never stopping in because it seemed like one of those places that wouldn’t serve me if I didn’t speak the language. Oh how wrong I was. When I first came here for my birthday, my friends ordered and I didn’t really pay attention. I know that we ordered a shrimp tempura dish, a fried chicken dish(??), and two bowls of jjajang myun. Jjajang myun is a longtime favorite of mine, and finding a restaurant that consistently serves a delicious bowl has been quite a challenge. Was this it? Was my arduous quest complete? It would appear that it was, during that time, but who knows … Fast forward to 2015. I hadn’t been to Guh Song in almost three years just because I was never in the area. However, one fateful night, my brother wanted to eat dinner and I suggested that we go to Guh Song because they served Jjajang myun. When he heard that, he was almost overwhelmed with excitement. We came to Guh Song and ordered some Jjajang myun, some fried dumplings, and the garlic shrimp tempura dish. After that one glorious night of indulging ourselves, it’s obvious that Guh Song is now a favorite. The jjajang myun is consistently delicious(and doesn’t give either of us gastrointestinal issues), the dumplings(both boiled and fried) are always hot, made to order, and the shrimp is amazing. Oh, don’t get me started on the shrimp. In my opinion, what makes me give Guh Song five stars is the fact that you get a great portion of food for a relatively cheap price. The shrimp, in particular, is an amazing deal. The staff are generally really friendly and they certainly don’t skimp out on the food. While service might be slow in times of chaos and high traffic, they never forget about your order and are apologetic for the long wait time. I don’t know, I’ve only had great experiences at Guh Song. I will continue to come back to Guh Song as long as they serve delicious jjajang myun and if my brother continues to drive me there. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking some comfort food or just a delicious, cheap meal in general.

Came here for lunch, their jjajang myun and tangsooyook were delicious! All well flavored, and their jjajang myun had so many ingredients in the sauce — made with love! The tangsooyook was crispy on the outside and well cooked on the inside, and the sauce was perfectly sweet but not overwhelmingly so; essentially, just right. I have a vague suspicion that they’re very liberal with the MSG here, though…

Friendly service with limited knowledge of English. We had a reservation which was good since it was crowded. Large servings — we ordered enough for 5 people and there were only 3 of us. Entirely Korea clientele which is a major plus and indicated to us quality and reasonable prices for authentic Korean food. Restaurant was cold so most people ate with their coat on.

The jja jang myun(noodles in black bean sauce) saved this place for me. We ordered the platter(jaeng ban) jja jang myun to serve 3 and it was an okay size. Seafood was not plentiful, however, and I thought there were too many veggies in the sauce for the amount of noodles. I was very relieved that the sauce was not overly sweet though as a lot of places make them. We also ordered the tang soo yook(deep fried pork in sweet sauce) and this was AWFUL. The meat inside was incredibly overcooked and the outside was not crunchy as it should have been. I was suspicious that it had been sitting out for awhile because they brought this out to us within 3 minutes of ordering. The jja jang myun took much longer to be brought out and we nearly finished the plate of tang soo yook before it did. Would return for the jja jang myun and to try the jjam bbong(noodles in spicy broth) but would stay clear of the meat dishes due to this first experience.

Another Korean Chinese place in Flushing, I thought this place was OK. I thought the food was pretty standard. Nothing amazing, nothing bad really. The food: Gan Jjajang– noodles in a brown bean sauce. This is kinda the go to dish for these kinda of restaurants. The dish was pretty good but all I tasted was the bean sauce and a ton of onions. It’s good, but every bite is exactly the same. Tangsoo Yuk– sweet and sour pork. I thought this dish was just OK as well. I think the sauce is nice but the pork is completely under seasoned. The pork does have a nice crunch.
