Not great but somewhat edible. I ordered fried shrimp and fried rice. Lots of breading, small shrimp and they were not well cleaned. You get 18 shrimp, the usual for the spots I go to is 20 or 21. The fried rice was good. The staff isn’t very friendly and for Chinese food it was kind of expensive. I paid $ 8 for this and the spots near me have the same meal for like $ 6. When I walked up to the counter the guy looked at me and said«What do you want?» I think he meant it as «what’s your order?» not necessarily to be rude but it kinda does come off as rude. To be honest, I only ate here for a free parking spot hahaha After Jonas hit us with all that snow it left Northern & Bell area with very limited parking spaces and I had an appointment in the area. I just wanted a clean and easy place to park where I wouldn’t get towed so I ordered the food and left my car parked here until I returned from my appointment. Technically I’m still a customer so don’t judge me lol I should have went to the Quizno’s next door instead.

Unless the service or the food is extremely terrible, I usually incline not to write 1 star ratings. I called for my usual chicken wings with fried rice and a separate order of chick wings. I politely asked to put the chicken wings a separate bag because the wings normally melt the styrofoam. She said she will charge extra, and asked«who» did it for me last time. Firstly, it was done on several occasions and I didn’t know what I was supposed to say to this IDIOTFEMALE when she asked who? HOWTHEFK am I supposed to know.

Ghetto Chinese food is one of my guilty pleasures, so to celebrate Happy Friday, I broke my keto diet for one night and ordered food at Panda Garden Restaurant. I’m sorry I did. The food is uninspired and sub-par. Look. I’m a realist. I’m not expecting Balthazar quality, but when you have a hankering for NYC style ghetto Chinese food, nothing else will scratch that particular itch. If you look hard enough, you’ll always find nirvana in the eyes of whores, you get my drift? Hot and Sour Soup: C– NYC’s hot and sour soup was divine in the 80’s. I go to California for 15 years to get a college education, and when I come back, the hot and sour soup falls to pieces. I mean, really. Is this some kind of Carl Jungian gestalt thing? Why are our Chinese restaurants sucking so hard? Do you wanna know what’s really wrong, what’s really, really wrong with the hot and sour soup? Well I’ll tell you what’s really wrong, what’s really, really wrong with the hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup is neither hot, nor is sour. It is completely bland, and sashays dangerously close to being tasteless. The«sour» is supposed to be a combination of white vinegar and rice vinegar. The hot is supposed to be white and black pepper and/or sriracha. I tasted none of this. In fact, I tasted nothing at all. This is an open challenge to Panda Garden. Let’s have a hot-and-sour soup cookoff. We’ll invite a bunch of people, and if you win, I’ll change my review to 5 stars and sing your praises. If I win, you have to change your recipe to my personal recipe. Shrimp Toast: B Pretty average. I get shrimp toast for the spurt of hot and greasy shrimpy oil that shoots into your mouth when you bite down. Like giving a shrimp a deep BJ. The pleasure of the hard crusty(almost burnt) crust on the outside and the warm, creamy, shrimpy porridge on the inside is just heavenly. These shrimp toasts were not very shrimpy at all, and I would’ve preferred them to be more oily. After all, if I’m going to commit sin, I might as well be best friends with the devil, right? House Fried Rice: B– The fried rice was cooked al dente. ‘Nuff said. BBQ Spare Ribs: B– There was copious slightly sweet sauce over the ribs, but the ribs themselves were slightly dry, and not well marbled. I want my ribs fatty! I want the juices IN the ribs, not OVER the ribs. I’ll tell you what the problem is. They were cooked too quickly. They should’ve been cooked on lower heat for a longer period of time. And fattier meat would’ve been nice, too. Sesame Chicken: B– Dry and tough. Unfortunately sesame chicken is often dry since most restaurants use breast meat for this dish and proceed to cook the shit out of it. Since this dish is often disappointing, I’m giving it a B– instead of something lower.

I ordered delivery and this was the first time getting food from here. It was a rainy night for a Friday they were backed up a little. The food came in about an hour and a half. But when it did arrive, it was nice and hot! Did not have to reheat anything. I ordered Hunan Chicken, pork fried rice, egg rolls, wonton soup. It was all very very good. I would have liked a little more hot spice in the Hunan, but it was delicious just the same. The pork fried rice was excellent, plenty of pork chunks, and had that nice hot firey flavor from a very hot wok. Soup was very good and wontons were firm and not mushy like some places. Eggrolls were good, pretty standard, hot and crunchy. All in all, I would recommend and I will be calling again

This is my first time getting food from here and I have to say… it was really good. Beef with green beans — tender, juicy and the beans were cooked Chicken Lo Mien — tender noodles, slices of well cooked onions, juicy chicken Dim sum — 6 pieces, very tasty and they gave a thicker dipping sauce Sweet and sour chicken — crispy and tender Two small boxes of white rice Free soda After this horrendously long day of work, it was take out food mission time. Traveling the full length of a Northern Blvd, this Chinese takeout was the only one with available parking. A quick Unilocal of the place gave me less than stellar reviews. Maybe the parking spot was a sign from a God, or maybe I was just to tired and was living dangerously, but this was the spot for food tonight. Inside the restaurant there are 3 large booths and 4 tables with 4 chairs each. This place is remarkably big for a takeout place. They actually have interesting photos on the wall. Unfortunately, my phone died so I could not take additional pictures, but next time I will post more photos for sure. The man behind the counter was very nice and advised me never to park across the street or I would be towed. The food was prepared quickly and I was on my way. I would definitely stop her again for food. They also have a Tai menu.

They don’t even deserve one star but I couldn’t comment without it. Place used to be good. Now they send the wrong food and when I called to say there was a mistake I was hung up on. Very bad business. DONE. Amy’s all the way.

First time ordering delivery so I was sceptacle about it but wow! Talk about efficient and the delivery guy was sooo nice and charming. You dont see that much nowadays. & the portions… I ordered a veggie lo mein and crab rangoon. I am so stuffed. I think I ate about ¼ of the noodles and only 2 pieces of the crab rangoon. The taste is different than other take out places, not in a bad way. But a bit more healthier, less salt and it’s not as heavy. Albeit, it just isn’t too great though.

The food is great but the people who work there are rude. I called to make an order and asking about the lunch special and if it came with soda and he was inpatient and talking to me nasty. Really? That was the last time I order from there. Going to try Amy’s since its nearby. Heard its good too. I guess I’ll see

Me and my brother usually come here for lunch during school(if we feel like eating trash) the food is all greased up in oil. This place isn’t really our preferred spot but there isn’t much chinese take out around close to QCC. I haven’t really mind enough to write this place a review but today when we went in for the usual(lunch special) I was 6 minutes off and I was rudely denied by the dude working the front. Well for that 6 minute they lost two customers. Will not be returning and not recommended. Go to imperial wok if you feel like getting some chinese take out. This place is no good.

Don’t get the szechuan wontons. Weird soy sauce based flavor… overpowering and not yummy at all. General Tso’s chicken was okay and had a light crispy skin — but personally I think there was too much sauce and it was too sweet for my palate. The egg roll that came with the meal was smothered in oil(the outside) — I had to wipe it off with a few tissues. I wish they had dabbed off the oil but other than that it was decent. Guess I’m sticking with Bell Garden.

Really good Chinese takeout restaurant. They advertise everywhere that they were in the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the U.S., but I am not so sure how. It isn’t amazing, but it is still one of my favorites. Go here for lunch, because their deals are amazing. Try the chicken teriyaki, which comes with vegetables, rice, soup/egg roll/soda. Also try the chicken with broccoli and the singapore noodles. Small parking lot, but you can usually find a spot. LOVETHISPLACE!

The food here is not bad. I had the C19(General Chicken) and it wasn’t bad(decent). The service was quick and nice. Definitely a go-to Chinese food place since it is like a couple blocks away from home ^^* it can be a hit or miss though.

Panda Garden has some of the better Chinese Food in Bayside. I’ve tried most every one and Panda Garden delivery is consistently the best. For a while I had stopped ordering as I was preferring some Japanese dishes and another local places offers both Chinese and Japanese at the same time– I knew I was giving up some of the quality on Chinese when ordering from them but I didn’t remember just how big the difference was until I started ordering from Panda again. Be aware if you attempt to get take out and drive there they have a very small parking lot shared with a Quiznos, Bank, and some other businesses. There is no where to even wait for a spot, being right off very bus Norther Blvd– going«around the block» is extremely difficult as the police precinct is one of the buildings you must drive by and the police cars often block the street. So it’s very much hit or miss if you’ll be able to park– I could only imagine doing take out if you’re in walking distance. Luckily they have fairly quick delivery and the delivery guy has always been friendly and pleasant. I enjoy many of their dishes including their soups, sesame chicken & beef, sweet & sour chicken, boneless spareribs, all the various Chow Mei Funs(thin noodles almost like angel hair pasta but thinner) — in addition their shrimp is good both friend and the type in their house specials. The most recent dish I tried which was new to me was listed as Singapore Rice Noodle which was like a spicy house special Chow Mei Fun, I enjoyed it. Also have to give props to their beef-on-a-stuck appetizer, some Chinese places this isn’t edible but I quite enjoy theirs. I say we order about once every couple weeks now and have had no problems, The only improvement I would hope for one day is to add more options to the menu, nearby there are both Chinese /Japanese and Chinese /Mexican alternatives.

Usual Chinese take out fare. Reasonable pricing, decent food and usual Chinese take out grumpy service. Nothing special but also nothing bad, except the place could be a lot cleaner. Eat in and your eating out of plastic take out containers and the finest plasticware bayside has to offer.

Still in the area thanks to Sandy, so I tried some Chinese food from the Panda Garden. Just in case you were wondering, if you are not a customer and attempt to use the bathroom at this place, you will be charged. How do I know this? Well, right on the front door is a sign clearly announcing this unique charge. Do I think local business owners should accommodate non-customers? Of course not. But is it necessary to have such a sign(although it did make me laugh) on your front door? I don’t thinkso. I walked up to the counter and was greeted by an already agitated guy in a funny hat. I had one question about the menu and that was clearly one question too many. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and the steamed dumplings. Service was fast but they couldn’t get me out of the store fast enough. Thankfully I was taking my order to go. The sweet and sour chicken was OK, some may even say good but I don’t think I will. It wasn’t terrible but I have had better, much better. The pork fried rice was actually quite tasty. The steamed dumplings were another story. By the time I got home the dumplings had morphed into something that was visibly unappetizing. Closing my eyes I ate one and it was rubbery. I tried the dipping sauce and it had a little kick to it. I can’t handle any spice so it may actually no kick whatsoever, I am just too sensitive. Overall everything was OK, but like the rating, I have experienced better.

My husband has raved about Panda Garden for years, stating that this place has the best Chinese food around. My favorite go to place was Amy’s. After having a few not so good meals at Amy’s I decided to give Panda Garden a shot. The first time we ordered the food was excellent. We then decided that it was going to be our new go to place for Chinese. The past couple of times we’ve ordered from them the food was not good. Anything with meat on it was about 85% fat. The ribs were horrible and the food was blah and really not good at all. We were very, very disappointed. The people that answer the phone and take order in the restaurant are also very rude. Which I wouldn’t mind so much if the food was rave-worthy, but with mediocre to disgusting food, high prices and that type of attitude, Panda Garden will never get a dime from us again. You can get what they’re offering at any one of the thousand Chinese food places around here — and I can think of several that are much more worthy of my raves, anyway! With that type of competition, this place really should try harder.

Like any of the other neighborhood Chinese restaurants(can I call this a restaurant???), I would say this place is just average. They have all the dishes offered at most Chinese take out places. The food tastes okay and costly around the same as other places. I do like the fact that it is clean. The staff is friendly and works super fast to get your order out quickly.

When I first moved to Bayside, my roommates warned me never to eat at Panda Garden. They said it was the worst Chinese food they had ever eaten. So what did I do last night? Of course, completely disregard their warnings and try the place out. I mean, how bad can Chinese fast food be, right? Well, at least the place was clean and the staff was friendly to me, though they were having quite a loud argument in the back while I was waiting for my meal. Their prices were rather high for Chinese take out, but that didn’t deter me from trying. When I got home and opened up the food, everything seemed ok, but my first bite into the sesame beef revealed just how disgusting it was. The piece had to have more fat than beef on it, as well as most of the dish. I tried eating a few pieces before I started to gag on it. Their wonton soup tasted like warm water with cardboard soaking in it. At least the wontons were decent, because that was all I really managed to salvage from the meal. Even my cats wouldn’t eat the sesame beef, which was strange because they’re normally doing everything in their power to sneak a taste of any food I bring home. The meal was followed with a few hours of gut-wrenching stomach pains. I will never, ever eat there again, and the next time multiple people tell me not to bother with a restaurant I will heed their advice.
