The food is great, and the shaggy dog roll is my absolute favorite. However, it’s so old and dingy and the bathrooms are disgusting. There are literally handprints on the walls. I just wish they would clean up a little. For how much business they accrue you would think they can afford a cleaner!

This place is a joke, waited 30 minutes after being seated and still no service. Immature young kids poor customer service. Should really rethink manager staff and how they conduct business with customers

I had lunch here on 11÷08÷15. The place is in need of an overhaul. You can smell the grease. The restrooms were filthy. However, the meal was pretty good. My friend and I shared the Teriyaki Steak Bento, which is a lot of food. I recommend sharing. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked. The shrimp tempura was marginal — it was cold. The fried vegetables were good. Overall, I don’t think I will return. So be aware that this place needs some serious upgrading.

Since we’ve only eaten here once, and encountered no problems, I gave it 5 stars. Nice first impression. We were greeted instantly and waited on promptly. The sushi was good and fresh and our lunch was good too. The clear soup was good. I would recommend trying at least once, and the price is right!

This is my favorite spot for lunch in Baytown. For less than $ 12 I get a plate full of sushi, a salad and soup. The ginger dressing and bits of fried panko on top of the salad are delicious! I only eat cooked rolls, but there are other choices. The bento boxes are asp a bargain, and are HUGE!

DONOTEATTHESUSHI. This was the second time I have been here. The first time I must have gotten some cooked rolls because this time I ordered a sashimi and sushi combo and it was wrong from the very beginning. I should have trusted my instincts and left before I ordered. To start, the waitress did not know how many pieces came with each order. Other than that she was pleasant and attentive. In the description of the sushi plate, it includes«white fish». That could be anything! When the plate came, it looked like a 4 year old had used squigly scissors to cut the pieces. Three pieces have what could have been worms or hair in them, not sure. The eel was okay, probably because it was masked by the sauce and cooked, but there was something hard in it, maybe bones? The squid was slimy, warm, and almost made me vomit. The plate came with a clear soup and salad. The soup per it’s description was supposed to have vermicelli noodles, mushrooms, and green onions. It had maybe four paper thin slices of mushroom and no noodles. It was mostly just chicken broth. The salad was mediocre and edible probably because it was loaded with dressing and tempura crunch. The sake tasted watered down, but was the best part of the meal. In summary, I’m no sushi conesiour, but I know my way around a menu. On top of it all being poor quality, it was overpriced. I would rather have eaten Chinese buffet sushi.

Prices are TOOOOOOOO high for small town Baytown! Shaggy roll is good but worth $ 15.00 good? NO. Average rolls here are about $ 15.00 which is too expensive. Came here for lunch one day and spent $ 25!!! Lunch bento box and one sushi roll. Ridiculous.

My orders here are always to go. Every time I get there my order is ready, all I have to do is pay and go. The food is always fresh and great tasting.

My girlfriend and I love it here. We come at least twice a week, and usually we get the same thing. I get the hibachi steak, and she gets the hibachi shrimp. The steak is amazing, and according to her, the shrimp is the best she’s ever had. There’s so much flavor in everything, you’d think you’re actually in japan. The rice is great. It can be dry from time to time, but regardless it still has a great taste. With every meal comes a bowl of soup, and a salad. I personally don’t prefer either of the said items because 1) i dont like the mushrooms that are in the soup, and 2) i don’t like salad. But my girlfriend likes both the soup and the salad. The staff is very friendly, young, and vibrant, so each visit is a joy. The service is good, but sometimes slacks, because the trainees sometimes forget our refills, but i assume that when they’re fully trained, they’ll be as great as the veteran servers. That’s all i can think to write. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Great place! The food is amazing! The sushi is well made and delicious. Everything I’ve tried from the hibachi grill is so full of flavor! This is a normal stop for lunch at work! Check it out!

There’s just something about the rice here. The Benihana-style cooking is great. Much like at Benihana, you’ll need to wait until your table is full. Its also quite filling. Be sure to try the ice wine. It’s sweet, but great. Again, something about the rice. There’s also a sushi bar here. The rolls are great. I usually get the Shaggy Dog roll to go. Also, with the ice wine. Again, something about the rice. I’m not sure about lunch hours here. I was once very unsure about the longevity of this place, but it seems to have some things figured out.

Food: 3 stars Service: 1.5 Can’t really complain for the only sushi place in town. Food was ok, wasn’t amazing. Vegetable yakisoba was very good. Got the maki combo? The crunch roll seemed dry and hard to eat. I would like to try the hibachi grill, seems like that would be good. I have service a 1.5 since we at least had someone come to our table. After our waitress dropped off our food, she never came back. Wasn’t even seen. Both of our drinks were empty. Once I told another waiter to get her, she came to the table grabbed my water and left without a greeting or an apology. My bf had to tell her he would like another beer while walking away. She never said another word to us. After she dropped off our drinks, she happily greets the regulars that were sitting at the bar. The point of server is to serve. If you hate what you do, get another job. Kinda sucks to have your food experience ruined by shitty service.

I take my son yearly for his birthday. Became a tradition. Service is always good and humorous. Food is good… and has many Vegetarian options. I highly recommend this place. Perfect to take kids for lunch or a nice date for dinner.

I’ve been a few times, so I have a lot to say. The crab egg rolls are fantastic. Light, all crab on the inside. With the sweet sauce… yum! I love the tuna sashimi. It’s excellent. I asked for cucumbers on the side, and that was no problem. I also tried the crab salad, which was crab stick tossed with cucumber. I wasn’t overly happy with the sesame seeds on it, but other than that, it was tasty. The dressing is light. Boyfriend got the Christmas roll and was happy. He added fresh tuna on the outside. He has also had the cowboy roll, but with added tuna. They’re pretty open to making whatever you want, and the extra charges haven’t been outrageous. We sat at the sushi bar last time and had a great time. The sushi chefs are entertaining, and one of them even took the time to chat with us for a bit. Would definitely recommend you try this place! 5% discount if you pay cash.

As far as hibachi goes, this place isn’t too bad. The chef was just ok – but really, this is Baytown, people — and the food had a decent enough flavor… I didn’t care for the rice at all, when that’s normally my favorite part, but the crab egg rolls were to die for. It was decent if you’re starving for Japanese food but not willing to drive… But for those of us who adore it and have had it over and over for years, this just doesn’t quite make it.

Tonight my boyfriend and I decided to try some hibachi grill for the first time. We decided upon the shogun special which has chicken, fillet mignon, lobster, shrimp, and veggies with rice and noodles. This also came with soup and salad! So much food. The food was fantastic. We had plenty of leftovers as well as we also ordered a shaggy dog(the only reason we have previously come here) The whole experience was good. My new favorite spot in baytown. It’s community seating so if you have a small group you may sit with others. We got seated with a chill family so it was a pleasant experience. But I can see how a different crowd this could be different. I will definitely be back to enjoy more food at the grill!

This is a third string Hibachi joint and cut rate sushi bar. The food isn’t bad but nothing spectacular either. The sushi is lightweight basic stuff. It isn’t bad for someone not serious about sushi but an enthusiast won’t find anything of value here. The entertainment part of the hibachi isn’t on par with other restaurants. The skills are dumbed down and not as entertaining. They should spend more time on training. It would go a long way. I’ll go here if someone wants but would rather drive to Ichibon.

Just had to share one of my favorite places in Baytown to eat. Shogun… great sushi, fresh and made to order if desired… just ask Agus the sushi chef what your in the mood for and he can whip it up. I eat here quite often and one night I thought I would quiz him on all the rolls listed in menu and made a bet he did not know all the ingredients by memory… lol Soo I randomly started to pick out the rolls and long story short… he knows his stuff… lol That being said, they have great customer service and you can even order hibachi grill items from the sushi bar. I give them 5 stars for outstanding service… always greet you with a smile and excellent sushi!
