Nice place, very good food. Order sweet basil chicken and Yellow Curry and it did not disappoint, will definitely come again!

Came on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch at 11:40 and was out by 12:15. I sat at the sushi bar and had the sake roll and green shrimp curry. Everything was great and the service was exceptional. Green curry is noted as being their hottest but it didn’t torch my mouth and all the flavors stood out.

I was really excited about this place. All the people I work with have been telling me about how great it was. So today on my lunch break me and the wife went to have some Phở. I had an hour and a half for lunch so I thought that was plenty of time to order, eat, and get back to base. Apparently I was wrong. I didn’t even get to order food. After sitting down and getting water we waited for over 20 minutes to give our order, we knew what we wanted before we got there. Needless to say the servers were more interested in their regular customers then anyone else, which sucks for them because we are tip very generously. I just wanted some Phở! Unfortunately we had to leave before anyone took our order. I will go back eventually, but not during my lunch break. Service was non existent. I will just drive 45 minutes to Bluffton and still be eating before they even look at us.

Would give more stars if we actually got a chance to try the food. Stopped in today for lunch, seated in the dining room where only about 5 other tables were sat, and completely ignored for over 20 minutes. Ended up walking out because my husband needed to get back to work.

The service was good, sushi was decent, but holy cow were the soups NOT good and that is specifically what I went in for. Being from Los Angeles and having MAJOR options for Vietnamese food I am pretty open to the different flavors and spices restaurants use but, at least it all taste similar! I ordered the coconut milk soup, usually from my experience lemony and tangy and sometimes a bit spicy, here it was SOSWEET you could not even taste the lemongrass in the soup! Next, I ordered the phó, it had all the basic flavors, it was ok, not hot enough, and they added dried roasted garlic which added flavor that wasn’t needed. We wont be back. You want good phở, that actually taste like, well phở, drive to blufftin saigon café, you’ll get your moneys worth.

The atmosphere and restaurant environment are nice and the food is smashingly good. I’ve never had a bad meal or experience here. It would earn five stars for me, except for the sometimes lengthy wait time. But other than that, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for Thai food lovers. I highly highly highly recommend the crunch roll if you’re into sushi. It is amazing!

VEGANFRIENDLYANDYUMMY! Ordered a vegan version of pad thai. Ingredients were fresh and dish was the best vegan yet in Beaufort. Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Outdoor seating was nice too!

Extremely slow with the cooked food. Cold saki although we ordered warm saki. There was a piece of chicken in the«Vegan» soup. It’s Sunday, not too many customers inside, yet slow … However, our waitress was very attentive.

My wife and I love Papaya’s. The food is always delicious and it always comes to out table in a reasonable amount of time. They give large portions of rice and it is wonderful. The hostesses and waiters are always nice and the atmosphere is really relaxing. They offer half off rolls on Thursdays too. Papaya’s is one of the best(if not the best) sushi restaurant’s in Beaufort.

Holy cow was the service slow! It wasn’t even busy, maybe 8 tables on a Saturday afternoon. When we were early done, we asked for our check, and still had to go to the front to ask for it again. It also took 30 min. To get one sushi roll. Prices were fair, food was good.

Food is amazing, service is kinda slow when dining in but it’s completely worth the wait. The yellow curry is my absolute favorite, and while I was hesitant about eating sushi from a Thai place, I’m so glad I did. It’s q great atmosphere and very welcoming. Good for large parties and great for children.

I used this restaurant for a business meeting with my wife and a buisness associate. Took a chance since I never ate there before. The experience and food were great. The staff did accommodate us and sat us in a quite area so we could discuss business matters without risk of being overheard. Kota K was our waiter… he was great. we had their signature Papaya crisp rolls… yummy and quite a bit for the $ 2 house salads were big for starters. A Crunch Roll was amazing for just $ 5 and 4 Tobiko(Eel) at $ 1/each… best deal I have ever seen. SaleebScore: Service: 9./10; Food 9⁄10; Value 8/10,

I gave Papaya another chance… unfortunately. I ordered the sashimi meal for one which includes a soup and salad. I was told 10 minutes for pickup and when I arrived at 20 minutes after my order the order was still not ready. They were 15 poorly cut, stringy, grey-on-edges slices of fish — barely sushi grade… No rice, just a box of raw fish. The soup had spilled all over my bag, and the iceberg lettuce salad had been made easily the day before. Bye-bye Papaya!

With the main ingredient of SomTum as the name of the place one would think that it would be on the menu. One would be wrong. Second choice was just OK and wines by the glass are at a bare minimum.

We had a light lunch on a weekday. Both food & service were good. Pad Thai was excellent(My wife’s choice). I had Tom Kah soup and Larb Nai Salad, which were also great.

I think the two star description says it all«Meh, I’ve experienced better». I usually judge a Thai restaurant for the first time by their Pad Thai. At Papaya, it was watery and not very flavorful. Service was ok, once we waited a good 10 minutes before someone came to the front and sat us. And the place was empty. So not sure what was going on their. Anyways, I havent been back mostly because there are other quality Thai food options in the area.

Not sure why this place has so many great reviews. Food wasn’t good, service was mediocre, interior was too dark. Two stars for the thai ice tea & their sushi. I was here on a sunday with my family around 1:30−2ish in the afternoon. It wasn’t busy at all. The place looks really cute outside but a little bit too dark inside. I was a little unimpressed with the menu. Not a lot of dishes on the menu, there were more to choose from the sushi menu than the actual lunch/dinner entrée menus. We ordered fried calamari, summer rolls, tom kha soup, seafood pad thai,(originally) beef drunken noodles and crispy shrimp roll. The calamari wash’t crispy, the tom kha soup did not taste like lemon grass soup at all more like water, coconut milk and salt. Seafood pad thai looked super oily and was too salty. The drunken noodles was made with thin rice noodles instead of wide rice noodles — i didn’t even bother to touch it. It looked very unappetizing. We originally order drunken noodles with beef but they were out of beef so we settled for chicken. They were out of A LOT of things. Papaya salad, flounder fish, satay… it was very odd for a restaurant to be out of pretty much half of the menu. We’re not from the area so we don’t know if the place is soon to be out of business or just open not too long ago. Of all the dishes we ordered, I’d have to say the crispy shrimp rolls were the best. Everything else was below average. & I have had better service. Overall, I’d recommend going somewhere else for your Thai food fix.

Food — 5 Décor — 4 Service — 4 Price — 3 Uniquely satisfying. Not what I expected when I walked in. With its slightly upscale appearance it had a relaxing appeal to it. The lunch menu provides some $ 5 sushi rolls that made the meal more enjoyable as the rest of the menu is pricey. Everything had a unique taste to it from the appetizers to the hibachi. I absolutely loved the fried rice!
