Best fried rice ever! Shrimp Teriyaki was full of flavor, stir fried vegetables were tender yet crunchy. Glaze is right on. Great selection of drinks. Atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Service excellent.

They have excellent sushi tapas here! The volcano roll was phenomenal. And let’s not forget the service was outstanding. A family own establishment. Fyi Kim is the owner and works everywhere.

We were waited in by the owner, who is a wealth of knowledge and very friendly! He made some suggestions and was on point with the High Roller! He told us about his daily specials and spoke about saki with my husband – invited us back on $ 2 Tuesday’s to try it! The fried rice was pretty good and my husband loved the shrimp roll! I’m coming back to try the crabacado salad!

There we were on a Monday night in Beaumont, Texas – something of a culinary wasteland. Pretty much nothing is open so we starting Unilocaling and discover that Koi was. Normally, I hesitate to go against the admonition a good friend once gave me to never go to a sushi restaurant on a Monday(leftover fish from the weekend) but we were desperate with out of town guests so we went for it. We normally like Koi and given that there are only a few sushi restaurants in the city it is a go-to because all they do is sushi AND the ambiance is really special. They have booths with couches and that means you can relax and do your sushi, which is really just Japanese fish tapas, in the Roman feast way. The Japanese put a great deal of emphasis on presentation and this restaurant does it well. Turns out that Monday is «Happy Hour All Day» or something to that effect and I was pleasantly surprised with the bill. When I ordered Ama Ebi(sweet shrimp), the waiter dutifully informed me that he could not give me the special happy hour price. No surprise there as I use this sushi to test the sushi chef wherever I go. Only good ones can make it correctly and I was not disappointed at Koi. Overall we had a very nice dinner and I recommend it to anyone.

Excellent! I am fairly new to town, and no matter where I go I must find a great sushi place! I’m glad this was the first one I tried, it kept my search short. Hamachi kama was excellent, I have only ever had it grilled without skin; here it is fried with skin on — amazing! Sauces were fantastic, and house made according to the owner! Nice and friendly, I went to eat by myself and was not short on conversation. I devoured my food before I could take pics, but luckily I got a black dragon roll to go so have a pic of that. The eel sauce is to die for! I shall return!

I love koi. This sushi is always fresh and they have some pretty cool rolls. On Tuesdays they have good deals on some of the most common rolls. Their beef udon is amazing and so is their baked salmon appetizer!

Great restaurant, upscale atmosphere, delicious dishes! Finally a sushi restaurant in Beaumont that breaks the norm, and offers«big city» taste.

The atmosphere was fabulous. The waitstaff was oblivious. The miso soup was average. The gyoza was dry fried with tough skins, but the filling had a nice texture and flavor. We ordered 6 rolls and the sushi sampler. The rice had way too much vinegar. Each roll became more pungent until we could not finish the last two. The fish on the sampler was very fresh. We couldn’t complain because all of the staff disappeared into a private party room. My daughter considered ordering dessert, but as soon as someone appeared opted to request our check because we didn’t want to risk having to wait a long time for it. We know not to venture here again. A serious shame. Update: Wanted to let everyone know that I sent an e-mail on 8÷22÷15 to the email address that was provided in response to my review and have still not hear back from them.

Quite possibly the best restaurant in Beaumont. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and quality food to match. You get what you pay for. In my case tuna and salmon sashimi, California rolls, edamame, and a specialty roll with jalapeños and crab I can’t remember the name of.

One star for the veggie tempura, ample in size, very crispy and big enough to share. Mine contained squash, broccoli, asparagus, and onion rings. One star for the speedy service and friendly hostess. I got the red dragon, and salmon sashimi. But maybe because my tastebuds are spoiled from other cities, I did not get to finish my meal. The meat was sticky, and not fresh. It was bland, but that what was recommended. Maybe I should have tried something else? Strike one. I wanted to love you.

Almost everything we had was delicious! My husband had the High Roller & it was great so many contrasting flavors & textures. I had the crunchy shrimp & it was soooo good. Everything contrasted & complimented each other. I also had a miso soup(great!) & hibachi beef it was seasoned perfectly. My husband had ramen & it was mediocre.

Been to a bunch of sushi restaurants in town, all the same usual sushi you find in every city. Went to Koi on a complete whim and was impressed with the place and the tapas. The ja crudo I can say is like nothing I ever had before. And the sweet salmon tapas, if it wasn’t rude to lick plates I would have done just that. The owners were inviting, and enthusiastic will be going back for the specials they have throughout the week.

Good service, ambience and most importantly the food is delicious! They also have a great patio for happy hour. Cucumber wrap filled with imitation crab showered with some spicy mayo and masago. NOM!!! My favorite. Not real sushi but I love cucumbers. Beef fried rice, spicy scallop hand roll, red dragon, spring time roll, shaggy roll, ja crudo, sweet salmon, Hama citrus. Made with their very own ponzu sauces! Highly recommended.
