The food was good, the chief was amazing. This is the most over packed, crowded restaurant i have ever seen. I had to circle around the outer wall of the restaurant to get to my table because it was to cram packed to walk through the middle. It was also extremely noisy with that many people, i could not even hear my date with our faces being inches away.

The food is fantastic! The staff is great. The diner show(watching food being cooked at the table) is fun! The place is a little loud and crazy with several chef’s cooking at once. BUT, well worth it.

We came here for my bday cause I wanted to try it cause we don’t have any where I’m from and I hate we wasted 80 dollars on this meal the salad was brown the food didn’t have any flavor the cook didn’t do anything special that my 7 year old couldn’t do it took her forever to cook everything and when she finally got to us everything else was cold who wanted to eat just meat as a meal when u have to hurry to eat ur rice and vegetables so they don’t get cold I don’t think I’ll ever go back or waste another dollar on this place or maybe it was just this location if I go to Seattle I might give them a try

Came here on a Tuesday night with my cousin because she has her $ 30 birthday month voucher. Quite frankly, without the voucher, I would be more hesitant to come to this place. It is pricey! Though I have to admit, there’s a good reason(or several) to be pricey. My overall experience was great at this place. We have a very attentive server, which automatically refilled my drinks without prompting! Our Hibachi chef was hilarious, granted, I am sure they all are. It was entertaining to watch how he prepared our food, nothing beats the experience of having your food freshly made in front of you, perhaps except when tricks were involved! We loved it, food was amazing, the price is just about the same as any other fancier restaurant. I’d recommend for anyone who hasn’t been here before!

First timer here. I had a great time and left with the dragon ceramic glass thing. We had a pretty decent chef that was entertaining yet not all that engaging. He was way better than the other tables around us. I felt their envious eyes upon us. I got the tuna rare and it was excellent. Crusted in sesame and lightly seared. Just the outside. The apps were great and drinks were well made. The loss of a star comes from smelling like a restaurant for two days after eating there.

Just had a great meal at Washington Square Benihana’s! We love to visit when we’re in town with family. Jose, our chef, was hilarious and kept our 5 and 7 year old girls entertained the entire meal. He was spot on keeping them engaged and making jokes with our crazy crew. Can’t wait to come back!

Fun lunch for the kid, pretty good food. Pretty expensive but did spend too much on drinks.

The food was tasty, and the drinks were A-MAZING! But it was really pricey for what you got, and that was kind of disappointing, but the show was good.

I came here on a Tuesday and the place was full. My group of 5 had to wait about an hour, so it’s a good idea to make a reservation if you can. They also have a great deal for anyone during their birthday month, so look for coupons and print them out beforehand. The biggest part of a Hibachi restaurant is the experience, which was definitely fun. Our server and our chef teased us and made us laugh the whole time, which was a lot of fun. We also had two vegetarians in our group, and another lady at our table with a shellfish allergy, which I thought was going to make things difficult, but they were very accommodating. The food was definitely tasty. Maybe not the best I’ve ever had, but adding it to the experience and atmosphere definitely makes this a worthwhile visit. Plus I hear that Damian Lillard is a frequent customer…

Nice experience. We went for team meeting there. Awesome ambience. Nice service. Good salad for start. Great chefs with their culinary skills. Nice show before eating. Great fried rice. Awesome noodles and tofu. Yak isoba is must try dish there. Vegetarian options were good here. Worthy of every penny for the dishes. Must visit!

I love love benihana. Usually go here every year for my birthday. When i lived over here, I would frequently the bar and restaurant quite often. Recently i’ve noticed a change in the quality of food when you sit on the sushi side. it really just was very disappointing(i ordered the same thing i do when sitting on the otherside) and it was lunch time. so unless you’re ordering sushi or something a little more simple, stick to the chef side. maybe that was my mistake. regardless, every other experience i’ve had has been delicious and the chefs are always great… i always seem to get the same guy and he always remembers me. even on a tuesday night, you more than likely will need to get a reso(open table is very helpful). i dont think i’ve ever walked in and was able to get seated shortly(besides lunch). very crowded on weekends… would definitely recommend making them atleast a few days out.

Went to Benihana with the family last night for dinner and let me tell you what we had a great time!!! Tony was our cook and he made our meal not only good but also very entertaining. I ordered the surf side and it was amazing! We will defiantly be coming back for another family get together dinner. I highly recommend eating here!

This Benihana location is excellent! It is often crowded on weekends, so I suggest making a reservation. The food is awesome. The menu has so many options, and the quality is great. I’ve been to other Benihana locations(Hawaii and Orange County), and this location has been my favorite so far. The salad, onion-mushroom soup, and sauces are super good! Also, they put garlic butter on certain items. So delicious! I have no complaints for this restaurant.

Benihana is often seen as being worth nothing more than an experience and that it doesn’t need to be eaten more than once. I strongly disagree. Benihana has some of the most high-quality Asian food I’ve had. It’s worth coming to for a good meal, but be warned, it’s not cheap, but not what I would find to be overpriced. This location in particular has some of the best service as well, and whenever I needed something it was never a struggle, because half the time there was a waiter at our table. Fantastic everything. TL;DR: Underrated; Love this place with all of my heart.

Came here while my grandparents were in town, too celebrate our new move, and their 10 year anniversary! We made reservations, and were seated promptly. Our waiter was attentive. Only thing I would recommend is offering or stating clearly that their is brown rice substitute for people like my grandmother, who don’t eat white rice. After I asked, other patrons substituted for the same! He food here is the best of the best and I dream about their 2 sauces LOL. I always order the Hibachi Steak; a definite recommend. Our cook was very friendly, and interactive. We had a great time! If you haven’t been, your missing out!

This is a home away from home place for me. We have been coming here for over 20 years. The food is amazing and always served with a smile. Many of the employees here are like family! The food is always amazing. If you can’t get into the regular tables. Check out the sushi bar. Our favs are shrimp crunchy roll, Gotham roll, sashimi and sumo roll. We love this place!!!

Well I wish I could give a ‘real’ review but never got passed the lobby. I was going to meet my husband for lunch. I glanced at the menu that was posted outside and wanted to ask a few questions. I went to the lobby that was manned by no one. I looked to the bar and saw a few customers, down the hall, and the main dining area where there were a few having lunch. A lady was serving their additional items walking around the grill. She saw me. Probably not her job to help me but after she walked my direction I assumed she was at least going to see if anyone was there to help me, ask me what I needed, smile, say hello. NOT! She walked my way, no eye contact, turned before she got to the walk, and she was gone. Maybe she went to get someone. Not. I waited 5 minute. That is a long time actually to wait in a lobby of a restaurant without anyone around… and then especially after they know you are there. Conclusion: Customer Service. Non Existent

Today at lunch wasn’t as good as dinner. I would have to say they put way less effort into lunch then dinner and I would definitely go in the evening if you want the full experience. I thoroughly enjoy Benihana but this lunch experience was a bit disappointing in a number of ways. Not to downplay the overall quality and history of Benihana, but this outing left more to be desired.

The experience at Benihana hasn’t changed over the years. It remains a fun place to go, most likely on a special occasion. Dinner entrees run between 20 and 35 dollars for a 5 course dinner(more or less) Usually involving a a dish with chicken, beef, lobster, shrimp etc or a combination of said ingredients. You sit at a table that holds 8 people where the chef cooks all the food in front of you on a flat hot plate. Chefs utilize humor while cooking your meal — a 5 course dinner takes about 1 hour from start to finish. The food is cooked with a lot of garlic butter, and the mustard dipping sauce they give is really delish. Be aware, there is a birthday celebration at about every table and there is a birthday song happening about every 10 minutes. Overall, it’s a fun experience. Not expensive for the experience that you get and the food ain’t bad, buttery.

I’ve been here twice and each time has been amazing. The food is top notch, the service is top notch, and best of all the experience is top notch. It is hard to explain unless you have been here but I guess the best way to describe this place is they put on a show while still serving you amazing food. They cook your meal in front of you. The filet mignon is delicious and I would recommend this to anyone coming. The price is spendy but as I’ve said before, you get what you pay for. If you sign up for their loyalty program you also will get a 30 dollar gift certificate for your birthday which will help offset your meal. I believe this is the only one in the general Portland area but we gladly make the drive to Beaverton to come to here for our birthdays!
