NASTY place. Dirty, No silverware, napkins, uncleared tables. Seriously? I had not eaten at Pei Wei in a couple of years and now I know why. OK, it was only $ 20 bucks for the food, but it was almost a total waste of $ 20. The food generic. Stale rice. Overly sauced protein dish. Bad service. I would have MUCH rather spent another $ 7.00 for real Asian food at Pao’s. Pei Wei is total garbage and I won’t be eating there again.

Food generally OK and consistent for a fast food version of PF Changs. Having said that — cashier service very slow!!!

Food was ok. But I was dining in and when I got to the register no one was there. There was a girl at the takeout register. She helped 4 people(2 of whom walked in after I did) before anyone acknowledged my presence. Finally, a kid who’s been stacking cups while I stood and waited asked for my order. So I guess cups are more important than customers???

Not a very clean restaurant. Some of the«clean» silverware was dirty with chunks of food still attached. The food was insanely salty. I became very thirsty about ¼ through the entrée. The restaurant was dirty. Dirty tables, floors and bathrooms.

Went to pei wei in lakeway on oct 16,2015 after trying to call in my order and being on hold for 5 mins but not being able to reach anyone. Placed my order and was told the wait was 25 mins. Came back to pick it up and when i got home realized that they got my order wrong. Pei wei just lost my business. I recommend anyone going there to eat there and check your order. I however will not be returning.

We went two times and both horrible experiences. Last night we ordered our food and the entrees did not have any white rice. We ask were was our rice and the person working said«we are out they should have told you when you ordered and walked off» They would not refund or fix our food in anyway. On top of that the resturant was very dirty with like 6 employees just sitting at counter laughing and eating at the register. employees very very rude. We have been to other locations in Austin with no problems. This one must have horrible management.

Dan Dan noodles usually have a thick sauce that binds everything together. These were not drained, so it was like soup, watery and not good.

Where is the management here? Are they not reading these reviews. I am a Pei Wei fan but this store is a loser. My biggest complaint is that the store is filthy. The floors are dirty, the restroom was dirty and the door leading into the kitchen was disgusting. The day I was there the ice machines were out of ice. And the Crispy Shrimp Tempura roll that I ordered here bears no resemblance to those made in other stores. I will not be back!

This review is long time coming. I really enjoy the Pei Wei concept. But if you want a completely different unsatisfying experience from any other Pei Wei in the universe, you should visit this one. My first experience with them was when a female employee opened up a small beauty shop behind the counter. She was straightening her hair with a iron behind the registers and applying makeup. I have had many strange and beyond belief experiences. Sometimes the food is ok, I emphasize the word ‘sometimes’. I have experienced missing food, wrong food, overcooked food, unidentified food etc… Today I watched a cook with no ball cap sweat into the food for an hour. Added salt? Visit at your own risk, but who knows. You may get lucky!

Worst service ever, 7 employees only 2 tables occupied and they delivered my husbands meal first and never saw mine. The girl delivering plates was playing with her hair first. We demanded a full refund and left!

Place is horribly managed! I don’t see this restaurant staying in business! No silverware available so we waited until they brought us two forks that you could tell were still dirty. We then asked for plastic forks and manager said those forks are clean instead of just getting us what we asked for. Cooks did a great job but without new management this place is a sinking ship. Last time eating here!

Pei Wei has really revamped their menu. Now instead of being embarrassingly oblivious to their faux Chinese, they have embraced American love for fried, saucy heart attack food and revamped their menu. The new sushi items(4 choices) are mostly smothered in mayo sauce, but with a hint of mango(healthy right?). The menu has been further simplified to allow you to pick your protein, some homogenous sauce, and then add on the extra calories like double meat! Woohoo. Unlike the menu, the food remains pretty much the same, which is to say it’s okay – let’s face it, this stuff sells itself. They still have the cool 50,000 flavor soda machine in the back and unlike the last time I was here, it appears operational. The staff is pretty friendly, and the fortune cookies flow-eth from a gigantic bowl at the front. I admit to sneaking a couple… Or 10.

We stood for over five minutes without even being acknowledged. A simple«We’ll be right with you’ would have been enough. The restaurant was dirty. My daughter’s food came out first, she was done before mine was served. 35 minutes to get your food is not acceptable, after all, this is supposed to be fast food. There were no to-go boxes. Overall, it seems they don’t care. PeiWei’s food is very tasty. Priced OK. But this one seems to be managed very poorly. I would go eat elsewhere or find another PeiWei.

We’ve been eating here since the day they opened. It seems like it’s either really really good, or just horrible. Not basing my 3 star review on any one experience… just a combined total. But every time we go in there, it’s FREEZING! Oh, and I hate the«new» Coke soda fountain. only one person can get a drink at a time. When you have a baseball team of 20 ten year olds in there trying to decide what they want, it can get pretty backed up. So basically foods ok, service is ok, temperature is meat locker-ish and I now only get water to drink.

One would think this place is a well oiled machine due to convenient online ordering but sadly half the food in our order sat getting cold while they waited on the other half for 15 minutes after the promised time. Corporate needs to step up training and help this location get to go orders down as hardly anyone was actually dining in, but the to go area was packed like sardines. The place is run by a bunch of inexperienced kids. Twice we have paid extra for a cookie yet they are out and it’s too much of a pain to refund my money. That’s called checking the receipt before ringing me up. I worked to go in college so that’s pretty basic. That and ensuring the order is correct and complete– which ours wasn’t. We ordered chicken and shrimp combo but they forgot the shrimp and the $ 2 side salad was wilted with brown lettuce and they forgot the dressing. Once again I feel we are being subjected to subpar service in this area and it’s getting really, really old.

Worst experience to date. Placed my order online and was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes. Arrived at the restaurant and was told my order was not ready. I waited an additional 30 minutes before the order was completed. The biggest problem was that two of the three orders were cooked and sitting under the warmer. The third order was cooked approximately thirty minutes after the first two. When I asked why this occurred the cashier had no reply. I asked for the manager and was told he was cooking. When I finally spoke with the manager I asked him why this occurred. His reply was simply«I do not know.» «Sometimes this happens.» «That they got busy all of a sudden. I then replied how can this happen when there is three orders on the ticket. Also your system is computerized so don’t tell me you guys don’t know your getting backed up with orders. He never offered anything other than he was sorry. This is not the first time that this Pei Wei location has told me 20 minutes and it can take up to an hour. On the contrary it has happened numerous times. However never was part of my order sitting so long while the other part of the order was totally ignored. The other big problem I did not see one employee working there that was over the age of probably 23. They are running their business with a bunch of inexperienced kids. Shame on Pei Wei because there is no good excuse for this. Nothing wrong with young people working but you must have someone with years of experience to lead them and be present. So I recommend not ordering to go because you will at some point be sadly disappointed.

This Pei Wei has dropped in quality drastically over the past year. Someone from corporate needs to pay this place a visit and set them back on course. Service is slow. Food quality is terrible(Dan Dan Noodles are mushy, sauce ratio to noodles is off, veggies in the Pei Wei spicy chicken were tired). Interior often has MANY tables that have not been bussed. I have not seen a busy lunch throw this place for a loop like it did during my last visit but it wasn’t pretty. Clearly something is happening behind the scenes with lack of management influence or lack of motivation to turn out a decent product.

I’ll keep this one short. Absolutely love pei wei entrees. However, this location is not able to handle the volume of orders they receive. More than once we’ve ordered online for pickup and still had to wait 15 minutes after the pickup time. Maybe they get some disproportional number of togo orders or something, but from our experience and reading the other reviews they just can’t handle the type of customers they get.

Years ago I used to eat at Pei Wei once or twice a week because it was close to my office and the food was really good at a decent price. Food was like a step-down, fast food version of some P.F. Chang’s items. So, last night’s visit to get takeout was my first experience in quite a while. WOW! FOODQUALITYHASGONEDOWNHILL! Ordered the wok Teriyaki tofu and vegetables with noodles like I always used to. Tofu now cut into tiny slices instead of thick chunks. Lacked overall flavor; really bland. Veggies? Where did they go? A few thinly sliced carrots and remnants of other veggies that looked like they were the scraps that had been scraped off of a cutting board. The noodles were SO overcooked! One huge globular mess and mush in the mouth. They serve their meals on top of rice or noodles(not on the side like other Chinese takeout joints) so the portion seems large for just under $ 10…until you discover the topping to carb ratio is… WAY off. What a huge disappointment and quite a rip off! Sadly, won’t be back. : —(
