Bend Velo provides an old school nostalgia with modern application when it comes to bikes. By far my favorite(out of the dozen or so) bikes shop in Central Oregon. Not only is their brand of Livingston bikes awesome, but they also sell parts(new and used) as well. I find myself stopping in weekly to grab some used parts are to simply talk with Eric or Tory about cycling. Highly recommend.

Best bike shop in Oregon! Their enthusiasm for bikes and seeing us happy was unmatched. We were in town for work from Portland and after a month of fruitless shopping these guys went above and beyond to special order my wife the bike of her dreams after test riding and tweaking a similar one a dozen times until it was nearly custom. They stayed late to help us narrow the search and were able to deliver the bike the same week with only hours to spare until we had to go back home. It was great to watch the community of satisfied regulars streaming through the shop l. You could tell the owner and mechanic built their customer base on love for the lifestyle and pure charm. Thanks guys!

I was in Bend for several weeks this summer and one of my missions while there was to get my townie bike spruced up. I’m so fortunate to have stumbled upon Bend Velo. They arranged to have it powdercoated and even found a welder to put some pieces onto it so that I could get better fenders. Now I’ve got what I think is one of the sweetest rides around and these guys made it easy! Prices reasonable too.

These guys are amazing! I don’t speak«bike» but my husband is an avid cyclist. He wanted a new saddle for Christmas, but Velo didn’t carry the color that I was pretty sure he wanted. They talked me through the options, and didn’t make me feel dumb at all :) They ended up opening an account with a new vendor in order to get exactly what I wanted, kept me updated on the status, and got it to me by Christmas… this is an AWESOME bike store!

I went to Bend Velo to get a custom bike built. They offered to customize a bike that was already built up in the shop(basically get the frame and swap around parts). Wanting to know more about the bike I was about to spend $ 700+ dollars on, I asked one of the workers(Tori) what it was. He said it was a Cinelli. Not knowing anything about bikes, I wrote that down and looked up Cinelli’s once I got home. Cinelli’s are top-of-the-line italian bikes and are very expensive. Now I believe that I am getting a great deal and go back to choose which color I want to get the frame painted. As I’m talking to Eric, the owner, I mention Cinelli and he is quick to correct that I am purchasing a Torelli, a much less expensive and less sought-after bike. At this point I’m a little disappointed, but still excited to get my bike. Eric tells me that the bike will be done by that weekend and that he will call me. The weekend comes around and no call. So I wait until Tuesday(their next day open) and go into the shop. Still no progress on the bike. «The powder-coating shop next door has not gotten to it yet. But it should be done by Thursday. We’ll call you.» Thursday comes around and no call. So I go back into the shop on Friday. After waiting almost two weeks I am definitely irritated and tell them to just leave the bike the way it was without paint and give it to me. But at this point they had just sandblasted it that morning. Eric takes the frame out to show me that we can’t go back to no paint at this point. Definitely frustrated, but relieved that the frame is halfway done I tell Eric that I want to be double-sure that I’m picking the right color and that I will call the shop before it closes that day to confirm or change my original color choice. Two hours later I call back to confirm the original color and am told that it will definitely be finished by Tuesday and again that they will call me. Tuesday comes around and knowing that they aren’t going to call me anyway, I walk into the shop expecting to see my bike either finished or being put together with the last few parts. I wasn’t so lucky. Tori explains that because I took the bike out after sandblasting, they have to do it all over again and then he tells me that it will be done on Thursday! Then he says, «Thats just the nature of custom bikes, man.» I’m sorry, but that is just the nature of not caring about your customers. After leaving to blow off some steam, I go back in and talk to Tori about how ridiculous this has become and how I just need my bike. During the entire conversation Tori was defensive and belittling, showing no compassion towards having me wait two weeks past the original date of completion. He even denied calling it a Cinelli and blamed that on me(now how can I hear one Italian word that I had never heard of and confuse it with another Italian word which just happens to be a company that makes much nicer bikes, that I have also never even heard of once in my life)! So I then ask for him to compensate me for all this elapsed time. Tori just scoffs at that idea, so I ask for my $ 200 deposit back and leave. Not once have I gotten a call from Eric, the owner, wanting to work anything out or amend the situation. These are people who obviously couldn’t care less about their customers, and care more about a dollar than their reputation. I highly recommend avoiding Bend Velo.

I’m a bike nut. That means I go to a lot of different shops in a lot of different cities. Bend Velo is one of the best. The owner, Eric, is truly passionate about bikes and is happy to keep your old clunker on the road or to build your dream ride. He and the head mechanic Tory helped me convert my townie bike from a single speed to a geared bike. They also built me an incredible custom 29er mountain bike for a very reasonable price. Always the best service, always honest. And they always have really good coffee on tap.

I want to thank the folks at Bend Velo for the great service and advice on new bike tires. Their shop is awesome. Their philosophy for style and function in their line of sweet commuter bicycles and recycled bikes is a great thing. Keep up the good work.

I called Velo for a repair and to add some accessories. They were accommodating to my schedule, as I needed to pick up the bike when they were closed. I was very please with the workmanship & will be returning. I’m not an experienced rider and sometimes feel that those in bike circles can be snobbish. It was NOT that way at Velo — they had excellent customer service & were down to earth. I was very excited to get home and ride! I’ll definitely be returning.

I just went to Bend Velo for the first time on Monday and ended up going back twice in a couple of days just because it’s so cool. The shop has a really cool concept. The take good old frames, strip, paint and put new or high quality parts on them. Basically a new bike for way less than a brand new bike costs. I think he also does some customizing of bikes. They are also starting a bin or «boneyard» section of the store in which you can dig for used parts out of bins(AWESOME!!!). I am not a plug or a friend of the owner or anything like that. I just happened to ask someone about parts and they referred me to Bend Velo. I purchased some parts from him and he made SURE that I was happy with them. Some places don’t give you a guarantee at all but this guy did. He really customized the customer service. Highly recommended for used parts, new parts, and repair of bicycles.
